Premium MemberOde To Summer's End

The swallow has gone,
Flown away, so has its mellow song
And so forth we go,
into bluer skies—indigo
Tempts drift further till tepid
Southern shades should not bid
Amid its alibi is incidence,
sun shrinks in appearance
Grayest shadows deepen
The first cool breezeway creeps in
Much warmth shall be ebbing,
heralding winter's woolen webbing
I count my blessings
of summer’s endings:
Abundance of sunshine so bright
Zephyrs on a tender August night
Book clubbing with best of friends,
Labor Day weekend marks summer’s end
As Summer ends Fall shall begin,
and what joyful gifts a winding wind
against glistening skin
Autumns kiss of this kind,
an earthly bliss entwined
And when the swallow returns,
no longer summer yearns
no longer summer yearns

The Hopeless Case

A mother
left crying
alone in her pew

Begging the Lord
for a miracle
new …

The only thing
he was good at
was being bad

Bus stations
train stations
corn maidens in drag

He came and he went
with the most
discordant rhyme

His sins
left uncounted
but marking the time

In Akron Ohio
his grifting
unwrapped

Those roads
in New Mexico
calling him back

The lights
and the sirens
again on their way

His thumb
in the wind
— Saint Jude in dismay

Premium MemberAutumn Leaves

the chill wind through
a tightened throat blew
against the trees, upheaves,
unfastening the leaves
exposing limbs on eaves.
the leaves fell away
as wanting to play.
they ripped their way
through the breezeway.
they been noticed after all
knocking into the wall
then vanish down the hall.

Troubled

hey, I've noticed
you haven't been
journaling as much
and sometimes you
are staring blankly
at the wall
during class and I

Big 'Ol Flaps hangin' down from the wall with some weird symbol on them, who knows or cares what they mean, anyone who ever gave a **** is dead and filled with maggots.

was just wondering what
was going on on on, ya know?
thanks, just let me know
if you want to talk

oh, by the way, you left your
flan sketch in the breezeway

signed yours truly

Their Lost Angels

Watching this colourful stream of lives passing by children without a care ? Moving
Along as making my way to the library aneath mid-morning's shade; her breezeway
Splashed another poetic palette; trying to avoid these clichés stepping past time's
Passage, into the sunlight where their beauty awaits of dreams ? Our theme today..
Glimpsing up at her street sign, Los Angeles, while taking a drag from my cigarette
Swept unto distant thoughts as taken far away ? Beyound the barriers which dictate
These secular views and temporal designs impeded their faithless void of sight ? Go
West my child His ancients voice; imagination shall soar atop wings you'll find, Angels.

Premium MemberWondering

Icing on cake not chocolate
Nor white but mixture_gray
Cool air flows over and around
Stirring air; porch breezeway

Crow lands in top of pecan tree
Upon a fragile limb
Another crow joins him_limb bends
Precarious crow whim

Second crow flies away saves face
First crow flies away soon
I wonder if they had pecan
Tart for breakfast or noon

Augustine Galileo's Heart

Always holding fast loves muse; never distant from this seemingly

Knights-errant spirit; symmetrical mirrors reflecting such hues amid these

Revolving spectrums crossed....

Afore a galaxy of stars both near and afar ~

Scarlets vivid oarnge heart immersed in the pools of febrils

Passion soaked gravitations thus red; filling these eyes and burning inside

This Souls breezeway between the here and agains, taverned flames

Intangibles, searching nomad nights....

Transmogrifies columns forever shifting within the celestial skies

Although always returning unto these physio-monastic planes

Grasping tightly still this loves muse ~

Far beyond the illusions of but, a knights-errant spirit; such

Fervant gravitations towards scarlets vivid oarnge pools in, red....

Passion soaked truths burning so very deeply inside

Transitories breezeway between the here and agains, transmogrified Souls columns

Revolving spectrums crossing; this nomads searching tavernous night

Afore a galaxy of stars both near and afar, aneath, these tangible perceptions....

Memories flood mind
Open wide breezeway airy
Neat well kept horses' gear hung

Summer Breezeway

Summer Breezeway

lovely is the summer breeze, hey,
gently tugging at your sleeve, today,
but today we have the fog, dismay,
wonder where is the dog, no way.

Friendships

Friendships fragrance life with a unique bouquet,
Hiking on a mountain trail or speeding down the causeway.
Attentiveness and loyalty brighten amity's soufflé.
Spicing up each day like a romantic screenplay.

Ablaze with passions as hot as a brandy Flambé?
A friend will feel heat with you and never trust mislay,
Displaying great compassion along life's byway –
And will never bring your heart to tears by sharing hearsay.

A friend accepts your weakness; cherishes your forte.
Sticks by you when your happy-path slips off the fairway.
Cares and visits you at home, in your mansion or chalet.
Loves you for the heart in you and not for social display.

A friend goes with you to recitals; enjoys your child's ballet.
Understands you, thick or thin, and helps your fears allay.
Cherishes your laughter and frivolous childlike play.
Understanding that perfection might be a worn out cliché.

Friends love you in the present until some endless day.
Believing in your talents and sharing hope's parfait.
Compromising differences at midnight or midday.
Friendship's fragrant flowers sweeten life's breezeway.
