Boston Tea Party Poems | Examples

Autism ADHD and me

Let me tell you about my experience with autism and ADHD
From moments of forgetfulness and yippee dee
Sorry I lost track now where were we
Oh yes
About autism and ADHD
I see the world in colours
All bright and beautiful
I notice the most annoying sounds
But I could tell you all about musical theatre and other interests of me
Like quizzes and history
Like when they started running the first presidency
It was George Washington then john Adams and the rest is history
But King George did tax there tea
And started a protest called the Boston tea party
Sorry Im going off tract again
But that is what it is like inside my brain
I could run barefoot in the rain
It would not bother me
I enjoy little quirks and moments of hyperactivity
Because its what makes me me

Premium Member I Do Not Speak Your Language

I do not speak your language I said to the ghost.
I speak a better one, fancier than yours, fancier than most.
I speak American, taken from English and hillbilly.
Your language is stuck up, decidedly silly.

The ghost was astounded, confounded, incensed.
Old English had served him well ‘til this fence.
What is American he asked, in a haughty, snobbish way.
I immediately thought “tea time” and decided to play.

Have you not heard of the Boston Tea Party?
It was the day we took over your ship, hale and hearty.
We threw all your tea in the sea, ignoring your taxes.
He ran for his wood shed, his chains and his axes.

He came back empty handed, for he was a ghost.
Could not pick up anything, a crumb, maybe, at most.
We decided to be friends, we talked into the night.
Me and the ghost, on my lap. What a sight!

The Boston Tea Party - 1773

An ancestor known as, "Miss Lottie"
Was a New York socialite "hottie"
To her lasting disgrace
She slapped Paul Revere's face
When he invited her to the p-ah-ty

Important History

if time could be traveled
I'd take America's children
on an historic adventure
to undo public school brain washing
a time before t.v. and internet
when kids played kick the can
      and used their imaginations
      and parents weren't ridiculously protective
going back farther still
they'd learn about our nation
all that America truly stands for
at last they'd learn true values
      witness the Boston Tea Party
signing of the Declaration of Independence
      hear our Constitution being read
      the Emancipation Proclamation too
so they'd learn to have respect for
God, humanity and good old fashion American values
all that once made America great
they'd proudly say the Pledge of Allegiance
their little hearts would fill with joy
       at "One nation under God"
indeed, if time could be traveled
I'd undo the public schools' brain washing!

Premium Member Wake Up and Smell the Tea

(This poem is a lightly satirical look back in history at what
was known as the Boston Tea Party)

Something's brewing on the Dartmouth
"Are those Mohawks that we see."
No, but over-taxed colonists crying
"Wake up and smell the tea."

England taxed her colonies monies
Which they could ill-afford
So they had a 'tea off' party
Dumping tea bags overboard.

England did not heed that warning
Her far away nostrils could not smell
How the tea did brew and simmer
On Boston's waters as they swelled.

Swelling high on tides of freedom
That only fate could see
But too late for dear old England
To wake up and smell the tea.

Change of Person

.....we have heard about the French Bastille
and America's Boston Tea Party - revolutions
that reminded those at the top that those at the bottom
are human too, feeling love, pain, hunger and contentment.
You yourself are a walking revolutionary in the making. The
moment you become true to yourself, you cause ripples in the
minds of those around you. They fight against everything
that you have become. They fight against the new you....

Sons of Liberty

Sons Of Liberty
Samuel Adams was a most wanted man
In pre American tyrannical land
In insane taxes the colonies drown
They were indentured servants to the crown
The Redcoat aggression showed no remorse
Brotherhood was formed to fight back with force

Chorus
Hail, hail, the Sons Of Liberty
Hail, hail, revolution without impunity
Hail, hail, The Sons Of Liberty
Hail, hail show no amiability

Smuggling wine to the secret of the coin
Enmity burned over the Boston massacre
drawn to the resistance, patriots would join
Boston Tea party struck back at the master
Hancock and Revere, they took to the gun
The Sons fought fearlessly at Lexington

Chorus

Would secretly meet at the liberty tree
fabric they torn, new nation is born
They set the stage to the road to be free
fiery inferno, for Hutchinson foe
patriot or terrorist introspective
hero's who attain patriotic objective
