Why are the half-witted usually also hard-boiled?
Not only are they wrong, they will not listen to other’s ideas
They are maniacally determined to be wrong
Determined to do what they want, without facts or proof
Stubborn fools, not necessarily old, but certainly half-witted

i dunno why that happened
you'd think that
would
possibly be a common
occurrence;
eggs are egg-shaped
for
the hen's benefit
round eggs?
think
about it... i
did
when i was boiling
the two eggs
that were already
boiled

Fancied boiled eggs
with brown bread for this morning’s breakfast.
Well, that was the plan.
Boiled them for ten minutes
then out of the pan.
Put them by the breadbin
I would surely not forget.
Pottered around the kitchen – tidied up, washed up
pottered around the bedroom – made the bed, tidied up
thought: what shall I have for breakfast?
Oh yeah, muesli, haven’t had that in a while!
made muesli, ate muesli, washed up.
Two eggs sat by the bread bin
still in their shells.
Egg mayo sandwiches for lunch, then.
Unless I forget!

When I was a teenager
Nothing seemed to be fair
So I rebelled
And I dyed my hair
It was as black as a moonless Halloween night
Which echoed my spirit to my poor parents fright
My days spun listlessly in an endless slog
My core boiled and bubbled up
infected soup of smog
Throughout my journey many feelings lingered
Handicapped by sensations
my life it hindered
Weak and fragile
Consumed with the pain
Inadequate and hopeless
An incessant drain
But something was brewing deep down within
A burst of emotions
But where to begin?
A jumble of words spat onto the page
Some words were woeful and some were pure rage
Allowing stanzas to unravel
I let the rhymes and verse unroll
For I found passion in my heart
Amid poetry in my soul

Direct me to the One selling magic beans-
my few remaining coins burn pocket holes
(and this is my last good pair of trousers)
nothing else worked, nor made a lick-o-sense
magic beans may sprout into something real,
maybe give me something to believe in
no enegy/ desire to slay dragons
pop-squatted my share of (un)golden eggs.
Need an upwardly mobile vacation
momentarilly take me to new heights,
at least envision my head in the clouds
searching for gold, (settling for silver)

He was her reason
She was his rhyme
Her quirks seasoned
What he kept in line
He came across square
She was defiant
But the two, as a pair
Achieved compliance
A hard boiled bond
Beneath a shell of steel
A promise beyond
The everyday feels
Coordinating paint
Branded their wrists
A quote, quite quant
Hers and his
Days came and went
Always together
Not a thought was spent
On bad weather
They were naive
Their parents were right
But you better believe
For love, they would fight

You crack the shell and start to peel;
It may slide off completely.
If not, too bad, but here's the deal:
The rest won't come off neatly.
But when it's clean, it needs a rinse
In case some shell is clinging
And next comes salt, which will evince
The flavor it is bringing.
Some slice it up and others bite
While weirdos pop it whole.
Whichever way, it will delight
Despite cholesterol.
So boil one if you're in the mood,
Though we should thank the hen
For bringing us this simple food
To eat now and again.

A truculent woman named Jools
was discovered cheating at boules
Tossing balls in the air
Jools was heard to declare
oh those rules are just made for fools!
***a little poetic licence as I understand boules is pronounced 'bull'***

Take a chicken
From out the yard
Wring its neck
Until it's not
Put the carcass
In a pot
Filled with water
Boiling hot
Add some spices
Mainly salt
Plus some celery
By the stalk
Pick the bones
From off the bird
Nice and tender
Is the word
Save the juices
I have heard
Common colds
It is the cure
Pick it up
And say bonjour
Lick your fingers
Afterwards

So finally
Age's shadow throws its cast
Time for some to live the past
And yet I have this silly quirk
I'd feel much better back at work
So rather than stay home and snooze
I'm back at work
No time to lose
And with a staged real happy face
I join once more the working race
Ignoring others ripe with cash
Doing little with their stash
Their burned out wives no longer stay
With boring mates to waste their day
So maybe my new life's not bad
Better busy
Then just sad.
Use your brain
It must be fed
Just move ahead
Get out of bed
New challenges will keep you strong
Don't waste these days
That's just plain wrong

Dan, for that extramarital affair, you paid a price.
Alex did many things that were not very nice.
As a lawyer, I thought you would have more sense.
Watching Alex’s actions surely made me tense.
You fooled around with a woman from the other side of the fence.
Well, Alex was a woman in dire need of a life.
Dan, you should have been more faithful to your wife.
Based on the 1987 film “Fatal Attraction”
