Success, a much hyped word today
Everybody speaking about it here and far away
We have TED talks, gurus, life coaches all churning out the same stuff
Why has it become a word that we all have to snuff
People trying to outdo each other in all avenues
Cant we just stop and instead greet other bienvenue
Gone are the days when life was simple and just a 9-5 job
And work place another extended family cob
We clung to each other and wished each other well
It was a time when there was no Apple or Dell
Life was a routine meant to be loved and cherished
Have we become more loud and garish
Has technology made us robotic nerds
Looking for the next best video clip or something absurd
Movies are tagged with sex, violence and nudity
Have we gone from quiet wisdom to stupidity.
Success you have become quite excess
Just leave us a little while to catch out breaths and suck less.

I ran all the way to the Bradley’s farm,
Stopped to say hello, then I ran back home again.
Heard the gravel crunch underneath my feet
On the fire lane; happens every now and then.
Bienvenue.
Watched a chipmunk dart through the rocks and ferns,
As a heron soared just above the tallest tree,
And a hummingbird buzzed a fuchsia bloom
By the cabin wall; just the way it’s meant to be.
Bienvenue.
Bienvenue, green and blue,
Perfect texture, perfect hue,
Perfect day for missing you.
Bienvenue.
Through the morning mist on a spring-fed pond,
I can hear the wail of the loon’s unearthly laugh,
And I only wish you were here with me
In the northern woods sharing summer’s epitaph.

You came a long way from your homes in Montreal.
I hope you have a good time here in Atlantic City.
In the summertime, the beach and the boardwalk look pretty.
This is the most popular spot on the Shore of New Jersey.
There are nice hotels and restaurants, as you would know.
Of course, the biggest attractions are each casino.
May you win at the tables, or hit a big jackpot.
However, use discretion and don’t lose all you’ve got.
The sun and ocean waves are what everyone adores.
There’s no need to spend all your time indoors.
