Since you’ve been gone….
The flowers have lost their color
The sun refuses to give its light
The moon weeps in her sorrow
And days have turned into night
					Since you’ve been gone

Since you’ve been gone…
The birds sing a mournful requiem
The wind moans at the windowsill
			The sea threatens and billows
The starlight has grown suddenly dim
					Since you’ve been gone

Since you’ve been gone…
	My world has crumbled down
The people laugh at my pain
			My strength has withered away
My tears mix with the rain
					Since you’ve been gone

Since you’ve been gone
I’m haunted by the beauty of your smile
I count the endless seconds and days
I moan your name to my bedroom walls
I wander around in an endless maze
					Since you’ve been gone

Nothing, no nothing has been the same…
Since you’ve been gone

Eileen Manassian
Circa 1991- 1992

I know there are some changes that need to be made to this, but I wanted to share this with you as I wrote it when I was about...24ish. I wrote it for my then boyfriend who is now my husband. He is the only man who has ever made love to me. I've known him since we were 12....

Youve Always Been the One

You might have thought it was her
But you couldn’t be more wrong
She held a place in my heart once
But not nearly as long

I think you question my intentions
But this ain’t meant for fun
How’s it feel to hear me say
You’ve always been the one

You’ve always been the one
Since I’ve seen that pretty smile
You’ve beat out all the others
By a country mile

We may have went our own ways
But to us we’ve always come
So how’s it feel to hear...
You’ve always been the one

One and one makes two
And we both know it’s true
In this life you’re the blessing
I’ve always turned to

I have no plans on leaving
And before our lives are done
Let me know how it feels....
To know you’ve always been the one

You’ve always been the one
Since I’ve seen that perfect smile
You’ve beat out all the others
By a country mile

We may have gone our own ways
But back to us we’ve always come
So how’s it feel for you to hear...
You’ve always been the one

Our souls haven’t let go
Our hearts still find the time
To reach out for the other
Knowing we can find

What should be isn’t far away
Some day we’ll live the life
Of loving on each other....
When darkness finds the light

I hope someday you’ll hear my voice say
You’ve always been the one

Youve Been Chopped

Chefs open your baskets.

                                 What you`ll find is,

                                 A pound of ground beef.
                                 An onion.
                                 A jar of Prego.
And a box of medium shells.

                                 Chefs you have 30 minutes…

                                  Good luck!

Youve Got Me Going

Well and it's just like you did
start up an old, old car now
you've got my motor running
bout to overheat, ‘bout to blow
a fuse, bout to throw a spark
you're driving me wild down
romance street oh yeah baby
YOU'VE GOT ME GOING
Well and just like flying a
World war 2 airplane
straight up into a big blue
sky oh and I'm about to
flip a gage, tripping on a high
oh yeah baby YOU'VE GOT
GOT ME GOING...
Well and just like an old
and forgotten steam engine
you've got my whistle blowin'
bout to jump track, bout to
blow my stack, rockin’ and
rollin' on down the railway of
love...
Well oh yeah baby YOU'VE
GOT ME GOING, YOU’VE GOT
ME GOING, GOING, GOING
GONE!

Youve Got Mail

I must begin it's
not a sin to be obsessive,
and also compulsive--
We're the movers
and shakers,
the deal breakers
though we didn't sign up
to be a hiccup
in the psychiatric ward.
Never ordinary,
it goes with the territory
of being a poet.
To no one do I owe it,
this language luggage,
the synaptic baggage
that sends me voices,
and other choices.
Cool text messages
in the silence come
from the poetic home
where the mind is free
to speak to me
'sans' cellular phone.
Just me and my muse
who likes to amuse
in the silence I seek
to send me word-speak,
or phrases next,
amazing me with her
choice of the texts.
The mind was here
with singular psychology
before technology.

Since Youve Been Here

Life is rough.
Teachers ask for to much.
With two parents i have enough.
But when i met you all of that went away.
I knew from then on you were the one.
You changed my life just like that.
Shool is not boring .
Books dont put me to sleep.
Since youve been here life is sweet.
Now all i think about is you and me.
Together we should be.
I feel like a new person.
My mind and heart are all about you.
Theres always something good to lead me trough.
Since youve been here life is good.
Since youve been here theres nothing
for me to worry about. Life is good
sweet what else could i need.

Youve Got Class

Oooh somewhat of a Charles Dickens
Character from your hat to your boots
Well I can tell you're different than most
People these days but hey that's a good
Thing it's got my goat if you know what
I mean, yes you got what it takes, you
Got what it takes, you just seem to radiate
Oh yeah and baby You've Got Class
You’ve got it going on dear freshman
I just gotta ask do you want me 'cuz
I want you whether it's right or wrong
You’ve got me in a state of ummhmmness
Well you've got it going on, you’ve just
Got it going on and I am a gasp at your
Jaw dropping kinda class
Cool, confident and self-assured you
Could charm the pants off of anyone
Anywhere, anytime but you know that
Don’t you well your eyes make that clear
But hey that's a good thing just go ahead
Baby and lay it on the line it's got my goat
Yeah it's got my goat by the throat, it’s
Got me feeling hotter than a pepper sprout
Over you now 'cuz you've just got what it
Takes and you radiate, you just seem to radiate
'Cuz you just got this certain kinda class
Dear freshman and I want you, I want you
Right or wrong you've got me in a state of
ummhmmness well you've got it going on,
You’ve just got it going on and I am a gasp
At your jaw dropping kinda class, damn baby
You've Got Class!

Youve Got the Power

Well how many times has
he broken your heart
haven’t you learned by now
a leopard doesn't change
his spots....
how many more times are you
going to take him back after all
the times he's cheated on you
Does he have something on
you or do you feel like you've
done something to deserve
this hell he's putting you
through...
Well You've Got to break away
if it's the last thing you do
come hell or high water
nobody and I mean nobody
deserves to be treated the
way he's treated you...
believe it or not You've Got
The Power to change your
life no matter what he says
you can do much, much better
believe it, believe it or not
You've Got The Power not
to suffer his insanity any longer
just put your heart in motion
and you will find yourself again
dare to dream the dreams you
used to dream and listen to your
intuition 'cuz if there's a will
there's always a way now so
here's throwing all caution to the
wind...
'Cuz You've Got the Power, You’ve
got the Power deep down within
You've Got the Power to begin
again!

What Youve Done

Like a river flowing
My tears stream down
Pouring down my cheeks

You don’t understand
What you’ve done
Keep your back turned
Don’t look back

I used to be a mountain standing high
You crushed it down
I’m just a flat lying ground

Now I’m high
Now I’m low
Never the same

One moment
Then the next
I’m up
I’m down

And you’re still never around

Youve Got Style Not For Contest

Line
Short wind
But delicate
Meaningful
Intriguing
Poetry

Big Wing has a style above laughter and Cheer
He fly's high above me in thought

I have no clue of what style I would be
I just love to write poetry
