Wellness and worry are by no means friends.
To be well, your mind of worry you must cleanse.
Living with worry, there’s a price to pay
worry will kill you if you let it stay.

If you want to enjoy physical health,
beware of worry it creeps up by stealth
then causes your nervous system to stress,
and in time, you’ll be a physical mess.

Worry also affects your mental health.
Its effects can creep up on you by stealth.
Worrying can lead to anxiety
which makes you withdraw from society.

Worry can steal your emotional health
Like a cat it moves in silence and stealth.
It gnaws on your joy, making you feel sad.
Before you know it, everything seems bad.

Worry can ruin spiritual health.
The crafty old lion stalks you in stealth.
He tempts you to doubt and distrust your God.
Before you know it, your life he has clawed.

Worry is a thief; he is after your health.
Give him a chance and he’ll steal your wealth.
When worry shows up, don't open the door.
Trust God instead, and feel your spirit soar.

Worry eats your energy and robs your peace of mind
It brings about anxiety so you cannot unwind
It takes away your happiness, it steals away your joy
And left unchecked eventually your health it will destroy
So learn to stop the worry as it only serves you harm
And make the time to meditate to find your inner calm
For your mind is the driving force in how you will progress
And so that inner chatter is the thing you must address
Your thoughts can either set you free or keep you chained in fear
So take back all your power and make worry disappear

Why sit and worry over things that seem to happen daily;
Little things that come and go that just annoy us really?
Why get angry over certain things that those around us do,
'Cause people make mistakes sometimes and life's too short to stew,

O'er things that sometimes come about without a soul to blame,
'Cept happen-stance and circumstance for want of other names.
To fume and worry constantly makes mind and body sicken.
It doesn't solve a single thing, it takes the joy from livin';

For God has deemed that rain will fall on fair and foul alike,
And what can grow without the rain as well as warm sunlight;
So take the rain and praise The Lord for sunlight and for showers,
And thank Him every day that dawns for blessings He's made ours.

Don'T Worry About a Thing

Smile today ~ everything's gonna be OK

Whether it's Sunshine or Skies of gray

Things will get better ~ 'cause Nothing really lasts forever

So Smile today ~ free your heart to play

What's yours no one can take ~ things must get brighter

Surely love will find a way ~ Smile today

Whistle Worry

I cannot whistle
It's sad but true
I try and try
yet no sound comes through

My lips I purse
My teeth I grit
I try real hard
but blow out spit

Worry Worry

Worry worry, what a shame
Hurry hurry, all the same

Panic as you run about
Quickly put the fire out

Scream and yell if all else fails
Gnash your teeth and bite your nails

All is lost as darkness looms
Signaling impending doom

One disaster has gone past
Each new one worse than the last

Never know a moment's peace
Endless problems never cease

Anger, stress and tension mount
Over trials you can't count

Sickness, pain and sorrow weave
Their web around you as you grieve

Your final worry goes on past
Your life is over at long last

Worry worry, be not brave
Hurry hurry, to your grave

When sorrow overwhelms you,
And, pain is like the oldest friend,
Remember, when you’re down,
This isn’t where the battle will end.

When worries leave you fearful,
And, the clouds just won’t break,
Don’t forget – there in that sky,
Abides a peace that you can’t mistake.

When mourning seems everlasting,
And, grief prompts you to tears,
Remember, when you’re living in shadows,
There is hope beyond the worst fears.

When regrets follow you so closely,
And, the guilt keeps you feeling remorse,
Don’t forget – there in spring’s sigh,
Shines love that our dreams will endorse.

When anger leaves you feeling so dreadful,
And, the suspicion provokes your wrath,
Remember to forget all the uncertainties,
Sincerity and peace are the stones on your path.

When discouragement overwhelms your spirit,
And, darkest despair quiets your inner peace,
Don’t forget your true feelings will remind you,
Deep within you God is creating a masterpiece.

When melancholy seems to haunt your spirit,
And, the dusk overshadows your dreams,
Remember to cast your eyes to the perfect skies,
Where joy and hope seem to go to extremes.

When an aching comes over you, just trembling,
And, the unsteady words just won’t speak,
Don’t forget, love is always with you, defending,
Even when you feel drained, you’re not weak.

When your thoughts are filled with troubles,
And, your mind is your worst adversary,
Remember, all but One of us is flawed,
Only Jesus, our Savior, is truly legendary.

When you think of all you have lost,
And the anguish seems printed on your heart,
Don’t forget, with the love of Jesus, there is hope,
Despite the hurt, you’ll find the peace He can impart.

When everywhere you go, everything you know,
Reminds you that this life is just so hard,
Remember that He is there, alive and well,
Offering you His saving grace – He’s the souls lifeguard!

The Worry Dolls

There is a tiny box of dolls
On the shelf by my bed
Each doll is for one worry that
May swirl inside my head

The box was given to me by
A friend, whom I adore
It started me to wondering
Just what is Worry for?

Does it serve any function as
I purpose through each day?
Will it relieve my deepest pain
Or guide me on my way?

Can it lesson my misery
Would it minimize strife?
And, will it add one single hour
To the end of my life?

The answer to my question is
Of course, "NO", it cannot!
So, Worry has no place in me
No victory it's wrought

The dolls-- I'll keep them anyhow
And use them differently
I'm sure my good friend wouldn't mind
A new idea, you see:

I'll pluck each miniature doll
From its box every night
And thank the Lord for giving me
A more eternal sight

Yes, with each petite figure I
Shall count one blessing too
And pray before I sleep that He'll
Make anxious hearts like new!

Don'T Worry Child

Don't worry child
Don't cry
Don't let fear
Find you

Don’t worry child
The life
Still needs you
You will find life
When you find
You!

Don’t worry child
Don’t die
Beside the cold trees
Find your way out
Find the life inside

Don’t worry child
May the branches of doubt
Lead you to the leaves
Where everything is calm and green
Away from the screaming steam

Don’t worry child
in the forest
Deep inside
Between the ashes and shadows
A mystic soul shines
Among the trees of life
Always by your side

Don’t worry child
Don’t cry
Find life
inside you
Don’t die
Your soul is bright
Your tree will shine
soon
You will find
You are one of a kind
So Don’t worry child!

“Fear whispers worry into your ear, anxiety into your hopes and doubt into your faith… Love whispers hope and peace” – by poet

With a brain washed pale
By voices thundering
Silent screams echoing through me
Clearing away the debris
Of disappointment and disillusionment
My mind darkened on a clear night
No stars twinkled through my thoughts
And the blaze of my heart
Was smothered beneath the darkness
That was like a consuming fire
Shooting flames through my mind
Resonating fear and doubt
Clouding my soul with black suspicion
Breaking away all the hope and faith
Pouring disgust through my veins
Marking the way for desolation
Despair and waves of guilt
That sauntered across my emotions
Coloring me in hues of gray

Bipolar disorder screamed
Beneath a mask of whispers
And I cried – tears of desperation
Tears that flowed out of me
Relentless, unceasingly
And I prayed for peace
That only God could bring to me

Philippians 4:7 (King James Version) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Premium Member Umbra of Night

The winding roads weave in and out
Through the thick murkiness of my mind
Molass density permeates this soupy blackout
Opening the door for foggy convoluted whimsy
A marginal lucidity that’s delicate and flimsy
A menacing daze to which I am resigned

On the threshold sitting so precarious
I waver uncontrollably with wits amiss
Of a mind gone off track and delirious
Vile visions born of darkness whirl inside my head
That they might escape is what most I dread
Those shadowy creatures that umbra nights dismiss

Premium Member Don'T Worry Dear, I'M Here

It began with her misplacing things…and progressed to not knowing who I was…
She would wander away from home…for that is what Alzheimers does.

Yet other times she knew me well, she knew where she was…and when…
She was intelligent and lucid…she was my Mom again.

I never knew when Alzheimers had control…or when Mom would be released…
for that’s the personality of this disease…that is the nature of this beast.

There were times when Mom could sense my worry…and tried to ease my fear
She’d smile…a reassuring smile…and say, “Don’t worry, dear…I’m here.

But Alzheimers is unrelenting…at first making small demands
willing to let Mom have her moments…while patiently waiting to take command.

I remember the first time she didn’t recognize me…I bowed my head to hide my tears
when all of a sudden she was holding my face…”Don’t worry.” she said…”I’m here.”

We had no choice but to acquiesce to her malady…
to take her high days with her lows
It was only after my visits were over…that I let my anger flow.

And when she was lost to me forever…when in her confusion I’d see her tears
I would take her face into my hands and whisper in her ear…

Don’t worry, Mom…I’d say…there’s nothing for you to fear…
Wherever you’ve gone to…Don’t worry,
Don’t worry Mom…
I’m here.

We arrived with expectations of triumph
There were agonies, desperations and tears
Coloring the hills with melancholy shades
Erasing the imaginings of soldier’s anguish
Embracing loss from the heights of passion
Where worries win and misery invites pain
To grasp the soul with a sense of forbode
Whispering despair through breaths of air
Filled with black dread and amber silence
Created in the hearts of those who shall kill
The sons of chaos who reach for a chance
To divide and conquer – defeat the wretched
Wickedness of those who long to succeed
Reach victory along the front lines where
Gettysburg soldiers are drifting along paths
Of loss and sorrow, fears of all that has past
And the tomorrows that are filled with knowing
Death is a friend to those who defy it with
Mercies murmuring and sighing, silencing
Each breath of hope that finds its way to the
Surface where there are only defeated desires
Drenching the spirit with gloom that comes
From losing every battle to the one who will
Finally overthrow the light with darkest night

The Battle of Gettysburg was fought July 1-3, 1863 in and around Gettysburg, Pennsylvania by Union and Confederate Soldiers during the American Civil War. This battle involved the largest number of deaths during the war and is often described as the war's turning point. The North won this battle with General Lee's forces.
