Best Walk This Way Poems

Premium Member The Turnip and the Cabbage

A Turnip and a Cabbage
    are walking down the street.
This may seem a might peculiar
    as they hadn't any feet.
Before you judge and criticize,
I beg your minds to wander.
To take a moment just to see
    on what the herbage ponders.

The Cabbage says, 'The sun is out,
    it makes a lovely day.
It is nice to see the other Plants
    we meet along the way.'
The Turnip nods approvingly,
    the Cabbage is his chum.
For every day they walk this way...
     they both begin to hum.
There are no words, no songs they know,
they no not how to sing.
But they cannot miss what they do not know
so no sadness does it bring.

They leave the street and find a trail
    leading to a brook.
Where they find a tree, a friend of theirs...
     looking at a book.
'What do you have?' The Turnip says
    with interest in his voice.
'Something bad, you should not see...
I leave it to your choice.'

Tree hands the book, which Turnip takes
    while Cabbage jumps to see.
They flip the pages, both in awe,
they gasp and ask the tree.
'Where did you get this?' Such a story,
we do not believe our eyes.
What Plant would write of such a state?
    It surely must be lies.'

The tree responds, 'These sad affairs
    happened long ago.
By a species less developed
    with little wisdom to bestow.
They were unkind... some cruel and dark,
    always out for more.
They hated all... were prone to cheat,
they invented a thing called War.
They fought tooth and nail for shiny objects,
    over which they fussed.
Destroyed themselves... their culture gone,
    a victim to their lust.'

The Cabbage and the Turnip
     let out a cushioned sigh.
But Turnip strains, 'I am still confused.
    What does the book imply?'
Tree thinks a bit, 'It was Nature's way
    to cleanse our treasured Earth.
To fight disease and cure infection...
    saving only things of worth.'

So to those of you who doubt this tale,
     forgive my little rant.
But take from this most people lack...
the brains God gave a Plant.

                 The End

There are so many sounds
That are enjoyed by so many
But the sounds i love most
Are by plectrum or penny

Lindsey Buckingham playing "Go Your Own Way"
Even Joe Perry makes "Walk This Way" say
Eric Clapton and his solo on "Cocaine"
Don Felder with "Hotel California" listening time and time again

Peter Green strumming "Man Of The World"
David Gilmour and Pink Floyd's "Time" the best i have ever heard
Jimi Hendrix with the amazing "Hey Joe"
Alex Lifeson axing "Working Man" in Toronto flow

Pete Townsend from the Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Neil Young and his anthem "Like A Hurricane"
George Harrison delights with "Here Comes The Sun"
Kerry Livgren from Kansas state "Carry on Wayward Son"

Tom Scholz of Boston with their "A Man I'll Never Be"
Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin as their "Whole Lotta Love" riffs free
Neal Schon on a Journey "Who's Crying Now"
Nancy Wilson Seattle's Heart "Crazy On You" wows

The sounds you read above, are just my ones of many
Whether they are played by a plectrum, or played by a penny
I did mention above, that i loved Pink Floyd's "Time"
But second to it, is Slash's "Sweet Child of Mine"

A Poem On a Tissue

A poem on a tissue

Seeing your tear drops fall I reach,
here, let me catch those for you
my hands need the moisture
and your cheeks are beautiful already

Love your dress, but your sadness
contrasts with the color,
can I borrow your sorrow for a while,
you keep the dress, it looks great on you

Outside is a sidewalk with a smile on it
well, it depends on which direction you are walking
walk this way, the other way you will see a frown
like yours, this way waits a smile, like mine

There’s a heart repair shop on the corner as well,
what do you say? I’ve collected the pieces of yours,
want to give it a shot? I hear they are pretty good,
they have one day service…

Not working huh? Then just take my hand,
the one with the pen in it and I will write you a poem
on a tissue you can use to dry those tears,
while I hope your smile soon reappears

Premium Member Only the Narrow Way Leads To Life - Matthew 7: 13,14

God has shown in His holy word
there is only one sure way to life
a life that's eternal to the full
for all other ways just bring strife

Jesus has said when here on earth
to find me enter by the narrow gate
never choose any roads of twists and turns
you can't see around a bend before its too late

There's a gate that's really wide
the way there is easy to find
but with it comes utter destruction
there are lots that will be left behind

The narrow gate is exactly that
making it difficult to get a pass
this is the price that's worth it
for the heavenly road goes first class

Now its so difficult to walk this way
the numbers that succeed are very few
but God's will his for His own elect
to walk the narrow way, will that be you?

(13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.)
Matthew 7: 13,14 (ESV)

Premium Member Hill House

There's a house upon a hill
I swear exist by its own will
jagged glass with tattered drapes
frame a small, pale child's face

Years before, we'd walk on pass
throwing rocks, to break more glass
but now my friends won't walk this way
far from here is were they play

But everyday, I walk from school
right by this house, no longer cruel
careful not to cause offense
won't drag a stick across the fence

Why, when I walk back home
and have to pass this house alone
this specter waits to see me still
from the house upon the hill

But now in fear, I turn away
straight ahead I look each day
I dare not catch, a glimpse or glance
less I be caught up in its trance

Cause, by the cloudy light of day
this house sits there in shades of gray
where signs of life, there is no trace
except one small, pale, child's face

Walk This Way

Femmy Felix walked with a sway.
He really flamed with a sash e.
But in our little town.
Opinion's mostly frown.
They said that you should walk this way.

Awful Weight of Agony

The phone just rang; the wrenching news has caught me unaware.
My heart is numb, my tongue is dumb; I stumble down the stair.
I cannot comprehend the words Sorrow just spoke to me;
will someone pause to share my awful weight of agony?

How can a heart bear all this ache and not explode with strain?
I lie awake, for love's sweet sake, reliving it again.
I take it in--the sights, the sounds--Grief's dreadful potpourri;
will someone pause to share my awful weight of agony?

So on it goes week after week, year after bitter year;
I drink the gall, I taste it all, Death's mad cocktail of fear.
A tombstone sentinels the wound the Reaper made in me;
will someone pause to share my awful weight of agony?

Only the ones who walk this way can ever understand...
Who have laid a child, to be defiled, beneath the mould and sand.
God sent His Son, His only one, a sacrifice for me;
and He will pause to share my awful weight of agony.

My Constant Companion

I do not walk this “Way’ alone,
My Savior walks by my side.
He is my constant companion,
And ever faithful friend and guide.

Sometimes, the way grows dark and dreary,
And I cannot see Him close by.
Then I hear His voice speaking to me,
And I know He didn’t move…It was I.

When I am drawn away by cares
That are common to life here,
Jesus whispers, ‘Stay close to me, child,”
And in the darkness, I sense He is near.

Premium Member Obey the Speed Limit

The speed limit on this street is twenty-five miles per hour.
When you exceed it, it turns our sweet disposition sour.
In the morning and afternoon, they walk this way to school.
Your careless speeding will make you look like a fool.
Here is an intersection where our young children cross.
Having your vehicle strike them would be a great loss.

Our children are too young to be placed in a grave.
It is their lives that we want to save.

The Clock Is Ticking

I awake and i see the sunrise just as you do.
But at times i feel these clouds cover my mind.
My desire fades and i long to sleep.
Why won't you come and lay beside me?
I feel like it's time to save someone.
To save myself.
Come.
Place your hand in my hand.
Wear your heart on your sleeve.
I guarantee that i will guard it with my life.
Can't you see that i'm here to serve my purpose?
 Born an bred an optimist.
I became a chosen pessimist.
I wandered down a broken path.
Unbreak my heart.
I'll show you something that will last.
Forever.
Take a breath.
This is all that i have left.
Broken promises have left me scarred.
Tragedy has locked me behind these iron bars.
Come set me free.
Give me something to believe in and i'll show you a bleeding heart.
Full of passion.
My patience has worn thin. I've been abandoned.
Lead astray.
Now take my hand.
Let's walk this way.
You are the sun and you are the stars that wipe away the clouds.
You are the drug that keeps me calm and sane.
A light in this darkened world.
The Hell i have created for myself.
The trials and tribulations that have left me scathed.
All the times i have been betrayed.
Trust lost.
I know you are not the same.
Trust in me as i have trusted in you.
I'll take your hand and no longer tremble in fear.
I'm not asking for much.
Just for a few moments to pick up the pieces.
The clock is ticking.
Distance has separated itself from me.
As you draw near i have nothing to fear but fear itself.
What is there to believe?
Have faith.
Find hope.
Believe in something.
Someone.
Do something with the cards you have been dealt.
Make a move.
The only thing you have to lose is time.
A restless soul.
Sleepless nights have taken their toll.
Break the cycle.
This is our time to pursue the hopes and dreams you have held close.
The hour glass is spilling.
Look me in the eyes.
This is our time to rise.
You are a friendly face in the crowd.
Hear my heart beat loud.
You have repaired the damage.
Let's take advantage of the time placed in front of us.

Letter To My Inspiration

This is a letter to my inspiration and the people who inspired me to write
There's a lot of writers who I have a desire to be like
While Adding my own style from what their words taught me
I always looked up to rappers because I didn't have my parents support me
I fell in love with rhyming at a young age
Heard Eminem when I was 8, and began to see how many rhymes I could fit on one page
Writing about my flaws, helped me become stronger & move past my dumb ways
I was sitting in the children's homes hoping my family would call
But they didn't so it was just me, my pad, pen and posters on my wall
I love Bone Thugs and Wu tang
Hip-Hop kept me up to date with the new slang
That's part of the reason I talk this way
Parents weren't around but Run DMC taught me to walk this way
I'll fight the power even if I become the public enemy
I hold my pen close, me and the pad have amazing chemistry
Put my heart in every line there's isn't a space filler
Trying to be like Ghostface Killah
Inspired by many but intimidated by none
A true writer knows their pen is more powerful than a gun
I feel like I'm writing from Tupac's dropped pen
Using the same ink that was used by Rakim
Grew up hoping to be like Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas
Common, Ice Cube, Big Pun, Big L, I want to rhyme like the gods
If you don't consider those guys as gods your opinion is Invalid to me
Every sentence you speak will be a Ballad to me
because I'll feel sorry for everything you say
Can you look beyond the words see the picture on display?
Wanted to write like KRS-One, Mobb deep, MC Eiht, big Daddy Kane
Idolising all these rappers and writers because my daddy never came
Will I be considered fake because I idolize rappers and not poets
Will anyone understand why I wrote this?
It wasn't until recently I understood why J.Cole wrote Let Nas down
If you compare me to anyone I've mentioned I'll never have the crown
I wonder if any of my idols would like any of the lines my pen is creating
This is a letter to my inspiration

In Life and In Love

As one awakes he or she prepares to set forth in their day
from the next time your loved ones eyes meet we search for the words to say
to walking into work knowing meeting your goals and doing it their way
a quick call or text just to say hi, I love you, or just a reminder...you matter
watched or to be seen as some body when we at times we fill like the later
the need to be wanted, to want, to find, to be found, to hear, and to be heard
in a world where not all is as it should be or seen but where like animals we walk in a herd
do this don't do that, walk this way, say this, bit your tongue, resist, it is what it is
look into their eyes, hold their hands, wink, smile, hold and love
a moment a time weather here or there we find ourselves alone and think...reflect
ten twenty years ago to the years down the road and how much we learned... to neglect
we smile accept retreat to please and proceed without the care of our needs
we watch so we don't see we listen so we can't hear we do for it gives us reason...
within our reach yet we...continue this way
a smile for we know we are grateful for what we have and for curving our needs
thankful for the life we live the time we have the love that is...and our reasons
hard to let it out let some one know...to find the right words to say...

To Tommy, From Mommy

Today I’ll always cry for you,
Your leaving takes my air.
My world is lost without your hugs,
Your sweetness gone fore’er.

Remembering how I nuzzled you,
The scent perfumes my brain.
The memories of your precious eyes
Bring now my tears of pain.

Today I’ll always cry for you,
A hollow’s in my soul.
Without your warm, devoted heart,
I’ll ne’er again be whole.

You’ve been a brave and noble cat
No lion could exceed,
My gentle, trusting angel who
Shared all his love with me.

Today I’ll always cry for you,
And stop I don’t know when.
I’d give up all that I have now
To hear your purr again.

I weep for all you’ll never do,
The birds you’ll never chase,
That regal stretch! and basking in
The sunbeams on your face.

Today I’ll always cry for you,
No one may understand.
But you and I will walk this way,
Your paw clasped in my hand.

Dragon's Might and Faerie's Flight

Our symbol is one in three that is Sacred to us all.
It is one that we acquire in some fashion once we heed the call.
Keeping our purpose fully focused and our mind crystal clear.
Linking our hearts together to the ones we love most dear.

From our beloved Dragon we receive our Strength and Power.
So that in the face of Danger we won't be weak and cower.
They also give us Passion, Determination and Fire.
To more purposely obtain those things we most desire.

The Pentagram is Our Protection while we're learning to walk this way.
It grants us hope and courage - from this pathway not to sway.
The Pentagram can be worn point up or point down depending on your degree.
It's a Shining Symbol of who we claim we are and all we wish to be.

From our Beautiful Faeries we receive much Laughter, Joy, and Delight.
Just watching them play as they flutter their wings in flight
They remind us that we must take time to relax and to rest,
So that when we are needed to help - we can give our very Best.

Each Symbol standing alone has its own Distinctive Power,
That we draw upon in Times of Need - any day or hour.
Linking them together gives us the Power of Three,
Opening our Inner Eyes - enabling us to see.

Footnote: This poem I wrote because it describes the meaning behind our Coven Tattoo.

The Galicga Crew

Fe fy foe fum we are the crew who gets the job done.
Ranked with badges to whip with lashes.
We leave the scene, cold like ice from the murder we bring.
We put you to rest cause we are the best
and if it is murder she wrote, then we must confess.
We don't regret putting you in the ground.
We don't let nothing bring us down.
We walk this way, yea we walk this way.
spreading like the ice age,
we put you on a slate to be dissected.
Blood starts to spill when we come to kill,
gore and violence just gives us a thrill,
like being in a cell on death row hill.
With us you know ain't nothing happening.
We strike your force like a convoy phantom,
Like a ghost appearing in the midnight fog,
attacking you and your homey dogs.
Fe fi foe fum, we are the galicga crew
and this war has begun.
Modulatiing on multaling, can you deal with the trouble that you are facing.
I'm a blood liquidtarian that you are hating,
I feed on the lives that i be taking.
I leave you a satistic, I'm rapping emplistic.
You just another crew that were gonna be ditching.
And we walk this way, yea we walk this way.
Spreading like the ice age,
we put you on a slate to be dissected.
Blood starts to spill when we come to kill,
gore and violance just gives us a thrill,
like being in a cell on death row hill.
fe fi foe fum, we are the crew who gets the job done.
Up side down you have turned me,
we pushing terror to infinity,
like a insectrail swarm we come complete,
attacking your faith to uncernity.
Our empire known through out the land,
Laying you dead gives us the upper hand.
We walk this way, yea we walk this way.
