Quote: I know there is a place for me in this world, as I am needed. – Speaks Volumes (Wendy Horder)
-------

She is lover of family, sharp in thinking new
Perhaps a bit sharp in words, unmerciful too
Even before you think that you do know her well
All about your heart is calculated by her still
Knowing world better, her fact-finder job was swell
She is spirited, pious, lively & rhymes well

Vigor, value, family & friends she admires
Oblivious to concerns of health, she inspires
Little does she fear, stubborn doter, dog lover
Ultimate love is her quality gem, artless dear
More than anything else she adores poetry
Engrosses in shape-poetry & mystery
She loves humor, wit, wisdom, above all her country.

Premium Member Life Sounds That Speaks Volumes

hear the groan of an old man getting up from his chair
hear the rumble of a hungry tummy
hear the clink sound of a glass toast
hear the click sound of the light being turned on and off
hear the honk of the car trying to get through the crowd
hear the waaaaaahhhhhhh of the police car
hear the clang, clang, chugga-chugga, choo chooooooo
of the train comes down the track
hear the tweet, twitter, cheep, chirp of the birds in the trees
hear the peep, cluck, cock-a-doodle-doo, gooble-gobble,
quack, oink, neigh, hee-haw, baa, meow, moo, woof,
of the farm animals-conversation
hear the babble of the river
hear the contagious happy sounds of laughter
tearful moments of happiness and loss
life rhythm that speaks volumes

Silent But Speaking Volumes

So telling of emotion I’ve used you
At times I’ve quite abused you

You have told of emotion I would have left hidden
Thoughts I’ve had that are forbidden

You raise too quickly in surprise
And lower distinctly at an impending demise

But the thing I love that you do best
Is when others try to pry or test

One goes up and one goes down
No room for delusion
You know my conclusion

The single raised brow says it best

Awkward Silence Speaks Volumes

The awkward silence beween us,
Speaks volumes through the tension in the air,
I wonder what I said this time,
or maybe its because I was just "there"

What happened to the couple who
together could withstand hell,
Now I watch every move I make,
as if I am walking on eggshells

I know its partially my fault,
for letting things get this way,
But to avoid arguments for years,
I have not said what I needed to say

I cannot take anymore
of the manipulative tactics you use,
I have to take control of the situation,
My heart cannot take anymore abuse

So what is the next step?
Separation? time apart?
Without you seems impossible,
I don't know where to start

Acta Non Verba Speaks Volumes

Acta Non Verba... Speaks Volumes

The above ad hoc Latin catchphrase,
(concatenated with two English words),
I regale chance reader
immediately sets ablaze
title of poem with timeless adage,
aptly suits this solitary

older male, whose daze
spent on planet Earth
aimless curriculum vitae
configures a zigzag maze
significant blocks of time
poorly aye now appraise

and rue so little forethought
wrought starry eyed glaze
amiss to any Amish,
colonial, horse drawn observer
passing by in their chaise
puzzled, asper my

doggone catatonic gaze
indicative as if me mind
lost in a foggy haze
yours truly attests,
concurs, he now flays
chastises, fulminates, lays

hard and heavy lament,
albeit cloistered frivolous,
lackadaisical, unproductive... ways
apathetic, estranged, indifferent...
ambivalent state comatose phase
toward life, when at young age

lacked joie de vivre evincing braise
zen lee oblivious zombie behavior
upon quick observation displayed craze
zee demeanor synonymous
with institutionalized craze
zee wardens of the state,

and at present realize futility to raise
hullabaloo, when 20/20 hindsight
shines figurative light on
how appeared to laze
about lost in space,
within outer limits
of my own twilight zone ways!

Speaking Volumes Quietly

i may not say it much,
but i always enjoy the soul of your love
everyday it is even more seasoned
i savor the taste of it in every way more and more each day
your eyes tell me that you know how i feel
my eyes tell you that i know how you feel
understanding the all of us and about us, we exist in a deeper love everyday
the sincerity of our hearts speaks volumes
however we prefer the inspiration of our natural expressions
despite the loquaciousness of it all, the soul of your love quietly shines for me
inspired even more is the steady rhythm of my love for you

With broken steps
and weakened feet
she treaded cautiously
tickling the leaves
as they began to sing
a rustling hymn

Gods Silence Speaks Volumes

My prayer in silence, was it ever heard?
For you did not say a single word.
I bow my head in utter defeat.
Time after time this has repeat.
I give it all to you my Lord.
Without your existence I thirst for life no more.
I am grateful for all you have taught me,
And for how far along this journey has brought me.
Struggles in life have had me down.
Still from you not a single sound.
I know in my heart the Almighty does exist.
Demanding a response is not something I should insist.
The fact that my heart is full of faith alone.
Lets me know that to you, I will find my way home.

Let Your Action Speak Volumes

Let your action speak volumes
Always keep your head up
It all starts with you
Continue to rise towards the top
Enlighten and empower
Enhance your vision
Believe in yourself
And make it happen

Speaks Volumes

I see but cannot believe my eyes,
I feel but cannot consolidate,
I hear but cannot accept the lies,
I taste and cannot ingest the hate.
I drink but cannot allay my thirst,
I talk but cannot complete the speech,
I fear but cannot abide the worst,
I strain and cannot extend my reach.
I run but cannot escape the pain,
I burn but cannot locate the fire,
I try but cannot achieve again,
I sleep and cannot truly retire.

I know that something has gone amiss,
I know that somehow I lost a friend;
I don't know what that something is,
speaks volumes I cannot comprehend.

Unspoken Volumes Xi – Sunshine & Sunflower

If I could find words how I love you to say
No words ever said can my feelings convey
If I could express my love in words or sentences
They may sound like a baby’s first utterances
Your love is even more… our souls know well
Your sighs mesmerize me like a magical spell
Ours is a story of the Sun and the Sunflower
They saw with their hearts, their love had such power
That if the sunflower was once sad and downcast
The sun looked at the sea with emotion so vast
Its waters swelled and its cries touched the skies
The skies were so blue, the wind was their sighs
And the sun looked at the wind with such pain
It carried the love to the sunflower as rain
And the rain became a song of the purest love
And the sunflower past the tallest tree towered above
Your love is my sunshine, more than I ever dreamed
I adore you like the sunflower in its beloved gleamed
