Distant Vistas
Painted mountains,
and art show peaks;
God’s hand in every stroke…
The canvas alive,
and moving.
The sweetness of perfection,
the honesty of reality;
“All” in reverence of… in awe of!
The Creator’s…
skill and power,
His majesty and His grace.
overwhelming and consuming,
boundless and beautiful.
The very act of prayer,
and subjugation…
only a small portion of
the debt due and
completely un-payable.
My only hope,
my Lord, Monarch and Sovereign.
the blood of the Lamb.
I am small, no more than a dot…
Barely upon the paper,
lint upon the page.
Yet the grandeur of the King…
is seen…
in every detail.
Grateful am I,
that He bothers with me.
Spectrum of foliage,
Kaleidoscope canopy:
Tranquil reflections.
In a bird filled sky,
The vibrant sun slowly sets:
Analogous shades.
Who is behind all the trouble?
Is it the blacks, the whites, the Asians, Native Americans or the Eskimos?
Is it the Christians, the Jews, the Moslems, the Buddhists, the Humanists?
Let me let you in on a little secret
They all are!
If you are paranoid you will find that
your fears may well be justified
Trouble is about to arrive
So prepare yourself
Hold onto your place in the galaxy
For there are meteors and
comets
of all descriptions
which may strike you down
Paranoid Vistas
Something to ponder
While you await deep winter
Which always comes when the warmth dies
Vistas paint motifs applauding your passion
Granting my evening glimpses of splendor
Sponsoring your appeal in ecstatic fashion
Enamored by our love delicate and tender
Granting my evening glimpses of splendor
Cherry blossoms sway dancing in revival
Enamored by our love delicate and tender
As moon peeks coyly cheering your arrival
Cherry blossoms sway dancing in revival
Declaring I love you with breezy emotions
As moon peeks coyly cheering your arrival
Flexing night tides to ride bouncy oceans
Declaring I love you with breezy emotions
Night departed bringing panoramic vision
Flexing night tides to ride bouncy oceans
As rising horizon mounts a scenic revision
Night departed bringing panoramic vision
Welcoming golden rays of budding sunrise
As rising horizon mounts a scenic revision
Announcing congruence of romantic prize
Welcoming golden rays of budding sunrise
Sponsoring your appeal in ecstatic fashion
Announcing congruence of romantic prize
Vistas paint motifs applauding your passion

View of the Grand Canal by Guardi
Speaking for myself,
at my WinWin best,
My ideal learning life classroom
is outside
in mountain sage
and pine
and birch forests
overlooking a considerably more Pacific Ocean,
Relieved of burdens for future
climate pathology.
Necessary and sufficient
for this WinWin day,
this breath,
this leisurely walk without undue weight,
And perhaps another
after sufficient rest
from LoseLose unrest.
Where I am OK
not to get perfect WinWin scores
if right and left midway
merge away
from LoseLose
intercontinental
and interpersonal ballistic trends.
When I imagine my iconic vistas of love,
I watch a sunset
red and yellow,
purple and pink,
bruised lavendar and darkening grey
until pointing jagged mountain peaks
turn to black understoried landscape
plunging against gravity
toward a slowly emerging sea
of glittering stars
Twinkling pinpoints
of light's long poignant memories.
I imagine this vista
through my velvet brown-skinned manchild's deep autumnal eyes
starting back and forth,
side to side,
without capacity or need for language
to absorb Earth's dusky light
and pine-soaked scent
turning up toward dancing brights
'til dawn's epiphany of grey
then transgressing violet lust
for sensuous life.
I imagine iconic eros vistas
and feel internal agape
conjoining philos,
appearing nowhere
except together,
like Yang strong bright
and Yin flow night.
Collages diffuse vanilla vistas
such effulgence waltzing to violet tempos
though the forestalling of waterfalls
evolves into a gargantuan war
weapons whistle from the mountains
beatitudes of mirth shan’t ever be eradicated
Who is behind all the trouble?
Is it the blacks, the whites. the Asians, Native Americans or the Eskimos ?
IS it the Jews, the Christians, the Moslems, the Buddhists, the Humanists?

Voice how you feel,
Ink a new say;
Glimpse touch that heals,
Niche joy this day;
Enter a zone,
Time for sure choice;
Taste healing tones,
Endow calm poise;
See ink stains surge.
Verse in flood tide;
Imprints that merge,
Sense lovely strides;
Tint big picture,
Art funds fixtures.

A bird in a cage; your inner demons will rage
A bird in the air your dreams cannot pair
A bird on a ledge; your losing your competitive edge
A bird in the tree is no fait accompli
A bird in the nest; all aspirations laid to rest
A bird in the mound; your tactics are not sound
A bird on the pond; your fleeting visions will abscond
A bird on the ground; all hope is not yet drowned
A bird in the hand; your gratuities are panned
Like most, I revel in being on the ocean beach,
There's a majesty, a magic, beyond words reach,
The word "awe" is insufficient as a description,
On it's effect on most
It's power, it's immensity,
Beyond the power of words,
And, more mysterious still,
It's soothing effect on the mind,
Unmatched by any drug company...
When my wife's infidelity
Drove me from my home and children,
I went to the beach, sat on a bench
In the early summer afternoon,
Seeking it's strength,
It's powerful tranquility...
I miscalculated one thing,
The views of loving couples,
Happy families,
These sights were arrows
In my weakened heart,
And I went home all the sadder.
It's strength,
My weakness,
The weakness is human,
The strength is nature,
It took me years to realize
This natural distinction.
Across the desolation it roams so free.
What lays beneath hidden from sight.
From swirls it surrounds nature’s track.
Sometimes lazily or swift might.
Life needs this entity to carry onward
Nature requires its nurturing style.
Its beauty overwhelms landscapes.
Such flowing wonders which does beguile.
Each tributary has its direction to go.
Whether its course is north, south, east, or west,
Streaming, curving, and with elegance it provides.
I muse upon countryside’s scenic guest.
