All Regrets

All regrets, in every backward flashback
leave bitter tastes like remorseful morsels
left drowning in your tear welled eyes
each day was longer and lower
      lower and loathing
        exposed naked in clothing
           open and empty without your
              ....trusting

All regrets, in every backward flashback
chisel names on tombstone with unforgivable clarity
leaving unbearable burials beneath these wretched feet
reincarnated daily sleighing me repeatedly with growing fervor
         fervor and hate
filthy face washed over in angst
closed off from safety and salvation without your
                 ....understanding

All regrets, in every backward flashback
grimacing sneers returned in mirrors like evil staring contests
every showdown lost in landslide fashion, reflection laughing
devoured each hour as they slip by consuming
          consuming and draining
worlds worth of words and deeds beyond explaining
I'm only half as good and partially whole without your
                      ....forgiveness

No Longer the Victim

Standing outside of myself
Looking inward
I did not like what I had become
Weak and shriveled by poverty
Smaller in faith and love
I walked in the shadows of the next sin
In the darkness of disgrace
Giving all of myself for nothing
Giving nothing for myself
Looking back through years of pain
I hung my head in shame
For at that moment I knew I was to blame
No longer could I be the victim
I must find the strength to fight this demon
I stood firmly yet fearful of defeat
I had to win this war
I gathered my troops and marched forward into battle
My head held high
My soul determined
I armed myself with courage, strength, and desire
Spirit was my leader
Truth and light my guide on a path of wholeness
Freedom from depression, poverty, drugs, alcohol, and lust
Escape from sin
Forgiveness was the key
Forgiveness from Spirit
Forgiveness from me
No longer am I a slave in the chains that once bound me
I am now a woman of power
Power in myself and my faith
Power in Spirit
Forgiving myself for my past
Allowing it to drift off in the distance
No longer am I the victim
No longer must I hide in shame
Capturing every moment of happiness
Living a life of peace, light, and love

Perfect Imperfection

I’m perfectly imperfect,
And to busy for the tears.
Losing my best friend,
Has had me twisted up for years.
·
I’m perfectly imperfect,
On my life’s winding road.
Finding the grace of God,
Helped me to lighten the load.
·
I’m perfectly imperfect,
The way God made me to be.
Through Him, I’ve untwisted myself,
And massage my soul with poetry.
·
I’m perfectly imperfect,
Set free by my Divine connection.
Through Him, I help you,
With my perfect imperfection.

Twisted To Untwisted

Twisted to Untwisted
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

Twisted and confused.
Wanting to understand.
Idealized life view.
Steadfastly bewildered.
Twisted and confused.
Endless unresolved fear.
Dark shadows hovering.

Twisted and confused
Oh, my Lord, please give death!

Under every rock shame-
Nothing good could abound.
Twisted and confused
Withering fallen soul.
Idealized view crushed.
Self-esteem buried whole.
Twisted and confused.
Endless self-hate taunted.
Decided to let God….

Zig-Zag

Reverse this polarity, my hormonal engine
Playing my body like a baby grand
Rough and rugged, Jerry Lee Lewis
Succumbs to Louis Armstrong in Platinum
Blues verses boogy woogy
An invariable blender, shaken not stirred
Keeping me up nights
Tapping my toes to the teardrops

Path To Victory

Into the midst of your situation,
Testify to the sufficiency of God

Into the midst of your crisis,
Speak Truth untwisted

Worship Him
Respectfully,
Intimately,
Truly
Triumphant,
Elevating
No other

Twisted Or Untwisted

Twisted or untwisted,
distorted, coiled, warped,
entwinded and interwoven,
aberrancies cavort.

Sleeping in the sun room,
mattress on the floor,
we thought that was cool then,
back in 1974.

The sun's glare woke me up,
but I kept my eyes shut tight.
Still, with my eyelids firmly closed,
the room was brutally bright.

I was just relaxing there,
waking and clearing my head,
when I felt my cat step up
on the foot of my pallet-like bed.

I felt the weight of him walking
and I heard his happy purr.
He laid down between my legs
and I stretched to stroke his fur.

He started "making buscuits"
on the inside of my thigh,
his claws were out, it hurt a bit,
and he was kneeding a little high.

My right hand was still petting him-
my right hand was on his head,
and then I opened up my eyes
and my stomach lurched with dread.

I stared in disbelief because
HE WAS NO LONGER THERE,
he had simply vanished,
was gone into thin air.

I have no explanation,
it's too twisted to untwist,
but I swear this really happened,
and my awe of it persists.

Twisted and untwisted,
reality's illusions,
it all adds up cosmically,
to circumspect confusion.

Don'T Worry Baby

my life's tolls had unfold
was thirty eight or so

had to make some life's decisions
with fine tuned perssions

whether to keep this unborn child
or abort it and carry burden for a long while

was ready to tell the world the news
father was not happy and left my heart feeling blue

first words right out his mouth abort or we were through
twenty years given what was I suppose to do

even with my stomach illness I did not come unglue
I knew she was heaven sent and odds were going to be few

I was catholic and I just could not do
So I chose the latter and now me and the father are through

For theres no feeling in the world like holding your baby so brand new
And watching her grow into a young lady and having a family too

Premium Member Choking On Jealousy

Face to face , eye to green eye , introduction to an unknown
I pray this concept, unjustified : never to be cloned
A seed planted, nurtured : is now fully grown
An aroma filling my Heart with doubt, I feel so empty : alone

I ask : does my Heart speak lies to YOU ; my most BELOVED
Is my Heart twisted around the evil envy of Jealousy?
How can I say with all my Heart : I LOVE YOU
Without a green eyed monster raising its ugly hackles inside YOU

Will Michael Jordan’s contest : “Twisted” untwist YOUR Heart
Untwist my Heart ; so it can say “ I LOVE YOU Barbara Jean “
                         With no Jealous repercussions

Is There Any Hope For Reconciliation

Havoc has taken over this violent nation,
we don't trust our leaders less ourselves;
abolish the Laws and write up new ones?
Is there any hope for reconciliation?

A vicious policeman pressed his knees on George's neck,
and the victim died in the presence of three silent officers
and what followed next was Hellbound meant to break,
then rioters burned, vandalized, and looted stores:
were they thugs or a mob without any morality?
Some changes must be made to address equality!

Is there any hope for the reconciliation of all people,
and bring calm to a society inflicted by disease?
Hold up hands and look to Heaven for blessed unity:
without God, there can be neither peace nor prosperity!

And the latest evil act was the siege of Capitol Hill on January sixth,
some blame Trump for the insurrection: was corruption the cause
inciting the mob and destroy everything in their path with wrath?
Finally, President Trump spoke condemning death and violence!

Is there any hope for the reconciliation of all people
gathered under the star-spangled flag symbol of America's greatness;
and as long as truth is spoken with an untwisted tongue:
all freedoms are guaranteed by a document of indisputable sacredness!

Even If That Has Gone

Trip tripping over the words
Wheres the same in the strange
I've lost my way
Since the pain
Comes the rain
Walk down my hall of shame
No explanations for these reasons
The places my mind travels
Down this dirty road
Clouded by all the dust
Feelings fall uncleaned
Roughed to the core
My world broken apart
Losely i speak with this untwisted tongue
I wish i could find the words for my misunderstanding
As we grow we seem to split into two very different places
I want to take it all away
Go back to the way we were
But how were we really
Questions are barriers for the answers
Why cant i be the way we were sure to be then than now
My heart is lonely and my mind will never make sense of what has become
But i will try to be more then we were meant to be through us even if that has gone.

Vanished Into the Sun Trapped In a Butterfly

I want to plummet backward and die through the rip in the sky. Be reborn as a ball of yarn untwisted and undone not to be avenged but forgiven I want to spread my string my flaming wings. Get me away from the demon world of false ebullient faces. I await the Golden Gates gaze. Now my atoms of have split as the very big bang are my wings that spread.

Before It Becomes Such

A lustful obsession
Mistrustful connection
Sullied reflection
Imagined dream

In passion, seamed
A thought intertwined
Lost, enshrined
In a fanciful bliss

Romantic mist
The kiss of shattered
enchantments
Romantic’s blood
Frantic

Spill of scattered hopes
Battered ropes untwisted
Mind ballistic
A maddened heart, ablaze

A fire’s sparkling rage
Desire lost in plagues
Of fantasy unfilled
Magic’s backfiring

Tragic transpiring
Demise of hopes to love
Soured dove
Depleted of sweetness

Darkness sewn in obliqueness
An ocean’s drowning deepness
Chokehold of disparity
Disposed of clarity

Mineswept in the meadows
Of his heart
The unrequited spark
I must leave!!!
I must leave!!!

Before it all
Becomes such!!!
