Best Tv Show Poems
If I was Auntie Mame, I would be excited about everything.
Kicking up fun wherever I am invited.
Even places I’m not, but everywhere being the zing.
Bringing people together, making them united.
I would be like giant puppies, leaping into lap places,
Sure I am welcome, not aware if I am not.
Knowing they are thrilled I am licking their faces.
I would throw up my hands, and dance around the lot.
I would be insanely, gloriously, uncommonly happy.
Unaware of disapproval or disdain in any way.
Oblivious to others’ discomfort, I would be loud and snappy.
Thinking their laughter is for me, I would continue to play!
Because I am the party, I do not want anyone to sleep.
Let the party begin! Bring out the chips and bar stools.
Take a chance, open that door, come out, and take the leap!
It is me, and if you have read the script, Auntie Mame rules!
I've recorded the song, which you can hear here:
I did vocals and guitar - Sung to the tune of "We Can Work it Out"
What a TV Show
American Idol
There’s so many loonies seeking fortune
and fame
But I’m suicidal
Paula Abdul’s gone and Ellen’s just not the same
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
Some of them have talent
Many more are fruitcakes who love to screech
and howl
Oh so brave and gallant
‘Til they’re subjected to the snide remarks of
Simon Cowell
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
For every Clay Aiken, 10,000 Sanjayas
Are making an awful sound
You’re much mistaken if your burning desire’s
To hear Larry sing “Pants on the Ground”
Can I find a reason
To withstand my co-workers gentle rebukes
Yet every season
I tune in for more zany crazy tone deaf kooks
What a tv show!
What a tv show!
For every Fantasia, 10,000 William Hungs
Eagerly wait in the wings
They’ll amaze ya, these delusional throngs
Tell me why do we enjoy such things?
American Idol
There’s a bunch of loonies seeking fortune
and fame
Think I need a Midol
Good or bad, next year we won’t remember their names
What a tv show!
What a tv show!

This TV series, 'Dr. Oakley - Yukon Vet' is aired on Nat Geo Wild,
I love this show!
David and Ricky were cute, at best
Bud Anderson was a clueless pest
But that enduring, fun rascal
our dear Eddie Haskell
provided a refreshing, honest zest!

My Favorite Classic T.V. Show
A classic t.v. show that I thought
was fun and silly.
Was one I watched as a child:
“The Beverly Hillbillies.”
There was Jed. Granny.
Jethro and Elly May too.
You just didn’t know what these
folks were going to do!
Granny would offer possum pie
or some “vittles.”
There was no tellin’ what she was
fixin’ in her griddle!
This family would “dance a jig.”
Or even “sing a song.
And then they would all gather around
“the cement pond.”
It didn’t seem to matter what was served
on the dinner plate.
Ole Jethro would never get full.
No matter how much he ate!
Elly loved to have her many
animals in the home.
No matter where she went.
She was never alone!
This Clampett family brought joy
through our t.v.
I still watch this show.
But just occasionally.
This classic show is from
a time in the past.
But it still brings good memories
that will always last!

Don’t wake him up yet! Shansi said with a snicker.
Orinoco needs his sleep, for his soft-hearted ticker!
So Great Uncle Bulgaria gave Orinoco fifteen minutes more.
But then you have to leave for school, he said. Right out the door!
Miss Adelaide will be waiting, and you know she is fine.
This school mistress wanted the Wombles there in good time.
Tobermory had to fix Bungo’s bike before they could leave.
Bungo had a fine idea to put on a weird new blowing sleeve.
Tomsk was raring to go, he loves to drive through the woods.
Yazz told them to wait up, she had to primp up her girly goods.
Wellington lagged a bit, for he has such a scientific mind.
He stops along the way to gather everything that he can find.
If I were a character from a TV show I would be Dr Cox from scrubs
I push people away i care about the same way he won't give JD a hug
I'll love you deep down but I Can't show it, so you wont see it
But anything less than what you can be i won't allow you to be it
I'll appear shut off and mean most the time
Just because you show me your feelings don't expect me to show mine
But I'll be by your side and there to help when you need me
I'll just make it seem like I don't care, because I don't find dealing with my emotions easy
I have crashes on most females, but I'll be loyal to the one I love
I'll want something more when she doesn't show emotion or give me a hug
But when she wants it, I'll push her away, because that's how my brain is
I'll work hard so people know what my name is
I want the best for people even if I can't express it well
The secrets you give to me I will never tell
You'll think I don't care because of how I act, but really I do
You'll think I'm mean because you don't see things from my point of view
If I were a character from a TV show I would be Dr Cox from scrubs
I push people away i care about the same way he won't give JD a hug
I'll love you deep down but I Can't show it, so you wont see it
But anything less than what you can be i won't allow you to be it
My identical twin and I have little in common, yet we have this one thing.
In order to start cleaning we have to watch Hoarders, a TV show with zing.
It shows women whose houses are cluttered with debris, garbage and poop.
It makes us want to clean, weirdly enough, until we contract the croup.
We watch it in April, when others are opening their windows for air.
I challenge you to watch it, but must warn you, for it is only fair….
You might retch and vomit, you might get sickly and turn green.
As for my sister and I, this horrible show makes us finally want to clean.
I start with a bit of sorting, but then get tired and start tossing away.
My husband runs in screeching “wait a second! Hey! Hey!”
“Those are our taxes, your W-2’s and other stuff we need!”
I do not care, my throwing-away self is now moving with speed.
Don’t just throw things away willy-nilly, he says, bringing back junk.
Stuff he has found in sixteen bags of garbage, all covered with gunk.
My spring cleaning would be so much easier if he would run away.
With the mustached lady from the circus, for what I now pray.
It is your fault this place is a mess, I say, mean as a snake.
He rolls his eyes and cuts himself a piece of chocolate cake.
I see this and stop cleaning, now hungrier than I thought I could be.
I add some ice cream too, and sit down to watch Hoarders on TV.
I am on the phone with Mrs. Kravitz.
You remember her.
Samantha's snoopy neighbor on the TV Show Bewitched.
Oh, you weren't alive in the sixties?
Follow along.
Here is her dialogue.
What is going on?
No telling what this is about.
It is a door to door solicitor, she tells me.
I take care of the neighbors.
He had better not be going over there!
Her elderly neighbor pays her in Valium if she shoos the salesmen away.
I hear her door open.
Slow down Mass Whole!
I’m calling the cops on that one, she tells me.
This is two seconds after telling me she had threatened yet another doctor.
I’ll have his license! She told me. I reported him to the medical board.
It is a wonder she has not been hunted down yet.

April 29—The sense of an ending… End of Trump Reality TV Show?
While watching the Trump trials
I sense an ending
To the Trump Reality TV show.
As he is revealed to be
What he is
Nothing but a charlatan
A con man, a grifter.
And he is not the King
Not a dictator, and not a genius,
He seems to be just a tired old man
Finally being held accountable.
For decades of alleged misconduct
Fraudulent business and political
Crimes including inciting a riot.
Stealing national secrets
And so many over.
Yet the polls show
He could become our next President
Perhaps I am seeing the end
Of democracy playing out
On my TV screen?
Dear God I pray
Make it all go way
Retire Trump from the game
take him now with you.
