    "Destined to Love"

twilight Moon cascades, haunting tapestry
as hearts incline to secrets of mellow night
clandestine caresses embrace 'neath canopy
lovers silhouette engage in sweet romantic flight
ascending to voluminous height.

in ebony atmosphere, flirtatious fondling ignites fire
as breathless succulence invades flesh and bone
with adventurous satisfaction, love pursues deepest desire
while sequined stars illuminate soft tone
captivating aura of mysterious moan.

forbidden fruit lies tenderly amidst dew-kissed heather
hypnotic force of true love refused to be denied
petite vision in chantilly lace and supple leather
emotions escalate vast inner feelings to subside
love conquers life, happiness cried.

a lovers touch creates palatial garden of delight
a beautiful expression accentuating rare romance
inhaling fragile fragrance although their precious plight
encircles pair in eternal dance
succumbing to the power of temptation's trance.

twilight Moon cascades, haunting tapestry
gently, pure white wings of turtledove
whispers an evening song 'neath lovely canopy
while heavenly stardust shimmers from above
smiling upon lovers destined to love.

Harvey the Hippo

Harvey the Hippo

Harvey is a huge hippopotamus
Who bathes in a bay that is bottomless
HIs mouth is as large as a riverboat barge
And he weighs ten times more than a lot of us

Big Harvey isn’t nasty or troublesome
Nor like other guys who are double dumb
He just wanders around stomping the ground
Looking for pieces of bubble gum

Harvey owns a fine yellow cummerbund
And sewn on the back is the number one
He wears it right proudly and bellows quite loudly
While playing outside in the summer sun

Once Harvey met up with a crocodile
Together they decided to walk a mile
Near the shore they strolled, but the water got cold
So they sat down to talk on the dock a while

Eating Oreo cookies about four apiece
They talked about matters of war and peace
They discussed the economy, art, and astronomy
And the huge immigration of foreign geese

Then walking back toward his new shiny house
Harvey stopped for a chat with a tiny mouse
Her name was Du Barry; they decided to marry
And soon come a baby named Stanislaus

A handsome young child was Stanislaus
Dressed up in his fine silken Spanish blouse
They all had made history; this was no mystery
For Stan was the first Hippopotamouse

Huge Harvey adored his sweet ladylove
From her wee little feet to her head above
He brought her some strings and other fine things
Including a snowy white turtledove

Harvey has grown really mellow now
He seldom produces a bellow now
But if you’re down by the bay, you can still see him play
This wondrous and gentle old fellow now

Like scramble eggs wanting over easy
Life bounces
Go with it, Bounce high bounce far
Bounce for bouncing
We are here once at least in this form
Today human
Tomorrow sparrow
Yesterday butterfly
Sitting inside my front screen porch
Mellow is the mood of my neighborhood
The sound of shoveling echos in the distance
I taste the day and savor the calm
Sunny and warm with a giggling breeze
And a lonely cooing of an turtledove
The sound of shoveling mixes into the moment
scraping the sound, spreading gravel
tap tap tap, it ceases
A lazy car moseys down the road as if nowhere to go
And my eyes transfix on the lovely figure
of a young teen girl walking slowly and surely
With no modesty of clothing or vibe
Indeed youth is wasted...
Troubles or pleasures life goes on
The night will shade
The day will shine
Life bounces either way
back and forth
high or low

Imagery of Lovers

She is my mirror of the night
the violent flash of lightning
her brown-black eyes
are swords into my flesh
waves between our hands

She is pure love
wild honey that seeps
from a tree, tender sap
that runs through her
garden body that I savor

We sweat the dew of lovers
she the silent giver of new worlds
all manner of fruit in her lips
the red blood of the pomegranate
the taste of purified pineapple

My hands caress her rounded hills
leading to shadowy valleys
penetrating the sex of the whole earth
her form are leaves of flowers
my body rubbed by her fresh leaves

We awake from the night and
count the fingers of the sun
we are silenced by fatigue
she was my sweetest turtledove
who cooed me to sleep last night...

Premium Member Bodies and Souls Entwine

As Dusk absorbs a charcoal hue,
ebony inks the heart of Night.
And an owl bids daylight adieu,
silhouetted, against last light.

We welcome the glow of the moon
on the wings of a turtledove.
And glinting like a gold doubloon,
Luna smiles down upon our love.

Our spirits float above the Earth,
untethered from their mortal perch.
And we realize love's true worth;
lies in the finding, not the search.

We gaze up at a blushing Mars
as our bodies and souls entwine.
And a sky filled with twinkling stars
forms a crown: for my Valentine.

The heron bowed to the kangaroo
With sparkling eyes he fell deeply in love
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo.

The devious crow offered her bamboo
She chewed it up and gave him a shove
The heron bowed to the kangaroo.

The hippo snorted saying howdy do
While the rain fell in torrents from above
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo.

A turtledove gave her a heartfelt coo
As he sat in a tree high above the cove
The heron bowed to the kangaroo.

The camel got his hump sprayed by chew
As the kangaroo spat out leaf of clove
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo.

The heron and kangaroo love may rue
Her lovers she did not treat with kid glove
The heron bowed to the kangaroo
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo

To Our Hearts' Content

The moment I saw you I knew
That the love of my life was you.
Through the pain and fire of earthly desire,
We have proven to be true.

Let us love to our hearts’ content,
Now that we have heaven’s consent.
May the sun and moon their blessings give,
While in happiness we live.

Let the birds of paradise sing
And the golden church bells ring.
May each turtledove and star above
Herald an eternal spring.

Like an ever-quenching pond,
We have formed a lasting bond
From life to life, as husband and wife—
So tender, so dear, so fond.

Let us love to our hearts’ content,
Through the times that are turbulent.
Together may we stand, still hand in hand,
With devotion never spent.

Let us love to our hearts’ content,
Till we know what the poets meant.
May the words ‘to cherish’ never perish
And love be benevolent.

Bird Brain and Pigeon Toe

Two of the wackiest guys I know,
	live two doors down,
		           one flight below

Tall is one, the other is short
One chirps loud all the time ... one quietly coos
Tall wears a small hat,
	         		        Short sports big shoes

Bird Brain and Pigeon Toe,
they’re two of the silliest fellas I know
Those two ditzy, dunce Dodos
	live two doors down,
			             one flight below
Two Heckle and Jeckles,
		             warbling so-and-so’s

One spring cleaning time,
my fair sparrow lady and turtledove me
were shaking a dust feather
at what we heard, but couldn’t believe —

Toe tapping on the Brain
with a combination of
Muhammad Ali - Fred Astaire pure artistry
The Pigeon was floating like a butterfly,
	stinging like a bee ...
putting pain on the Brain’s cheek

While we kept shaking that dust feather
at what we still couldn’t believe;
we heard hawk flap sounds,
		                 so stark raven noisy —
Bird woodpecking the Pigeon
with a fist pounding of
a knuckle Louisville Slugger, number 23

The Brain was tapping Morse Code bulls-eye
	carvings on a tree ...
putting hurt on the Pigeon’s beak
Can you believe —
Two best friends fighting like worst enemies!

When the dust settled and the air cleared,
we really couldn’t believe
what our hummingbird ears just did hear —
Loud laughter mingled with drunken cheers,
        of double-burping
                             out an open window
Coming from two doors down,
			           one flight below

They’re longtime best buds —
Two of the dimmer bulbs which glow,
that have a peacock taste
		         for the suds

Now you now know:
A pair of the quirkiest crow chums
who roof perch together,
	     wing elbow
Parakeet plucky park bench bums

Total cuckoo nest best buds
Fun loving,
boon-docking couch spuds

My neighboring parrot chime fellows:
Bird Brain and Pigeon Toe,
      they live two doors down,
			          one flight below

Premium Member Thoughts From Out On the Porch

As the clear golden sun rises
The doves' coos ring soft, true
Songbirds are excited, chipper
   Maybe parenting is through

Little ones have left the soft nest
   Maybe started families
Of their own, will old birds start anew
Or are their nesting days through?

There was a heavy turtledove
   In the kitchen window view
Yesterday, she did not come today
Just the young male, its true

Is she now on the nest, busy?
   Is he feeding her now?
Both anticipate the babies
   Wondering exactly how~~

God has given them their instructions
They know just what to do
Time will bring the crackin' egg sounds
Then once again the baby flew

Angels

Angels?

Are they ornaments worn on our shoulders as symbols?
Are they ten foot-tall guardians, guarding those with faith	?
Are they messengers of God?
Are they dense enough to cleanse an entire evil space?

Whence I ponder angels…
Akin to an innocent child
Or likened to that of a sheep
Inflected on as a snow-white turtledove…

Was the most aesthetic angel the precursor for hell?

Make not a farce nor lessen my lament,
your weeping stains will hide my mask of dreams
for poison feeds your nocuous intent,
revealing naught of pain through silent screams.

Another victim broken lost and drained
gets left to cry with feelings stretched and strained.
I whispered coos to you my turtledove
left crushed beneath the words of ladylove.

Enough of sorrow's dim lit candle flamed
held close to flicker out as I but breathe
engulfed as if with magic, wild, untamed
as never more this love I will reprise.

Released I'll live again, my soul will soar
to know my fragile heart will break no more.

My love for you knows no bounds
An exquisite affair of the heart
Passionately addicted to the nth degree
Knew it right from the start

The signs were there for everyone to see
Google-eyed and mumbling away
Forgetting important meetings and such
Or the silly stuff I wound say

Us humans don't have it down pat, yet
We still have a way yet to go
To call us perfect is a bit premature
But the progress we're making shows

At times people actually make some sense
Of some of the things I say
But bidding someone a fond farewell
Is not how to start each day

It seems I've been bitten and bitten real good
By this bug that's known as love
Haven't slept soundly for many a night
Dreaming of my sweet turtledove

After Jean De La Fontaine's Fable the Animals Sick From the Plague

At times we should not be afraid
to roundly call a spade a spade.
I shrink not from a reference
to a fearful pestilence.
From Leo the king to a lowly vole,
the fear of death held all in thrall.
Even the amorous turtledove
found no appetite for love.
At last King Leo called together
birds big and small of every feather,
dogs, wolves, hares, horses, cattle,
to join a mighty fearless battle
against a woe that knew no measure,
that revealed divine displeasure.
In a tone both low and grave
the king proposed a way to save
his subjects from destruction's pit
in a way that would best fit.
"Beloved creatures, renouncing sins
alone celestial pardon wins.
Let each of us search heart and soul.
to find what error played a role
in provoking Heaven's frown,
sparing not Our royal crown.
We too have erred, let Us confess,
sharing guilt for the present mess.
Often We - Oh, truth to tell -
a flock of harmless sheep befell.
We must not omit to say,
the shepherd too his life did pay."
"Your conscience is too tender, Sire"
From all such self-reproach retire!
That shepherd got his just reward;
for humankind no tear afford.
Us animals they kill, enslave.
The world has lost but one more knave."
Thus spoke the wolves dressed in black
whose legal minds no cunning lack.
The animals told, one by one
all the wicked things they'd done
until it was a donkey's turn
to say for what his heart did burn.
"Once I was standing at a fence,
For what I did there's no defence.
I felt an urge - o woe betide! -
to munch grass on the neighbor's side.
Some demon drove me to so act.
Conscience forbid I hide the fact."
"Oh monstrous sin! Abomination!
Betrayal of the animal nation!
'Tis this wicked foolish ass
that has incurred God's wrath, alas!
The court did not brook delay.
Someone had the price to play.
