A Goodbye Lie

Dark chocolate eyes bore into me,
Beseeching, brimming, tunneling for truth.
A single tear trails silently
Cascading o’er lifted cheekbones so
Perfectly angled they’re matchless
Throughout nature’s beauty scheme.
Exquisite, ethereal amber skin is
Glistened by a single path tracking south
Till brushed tentatively aside and away
With a deliciously delicate crook’d index finger.
Adjusting focus with a bow, her upturned glance
Begs understanding, explanation.
Crimson lips, lavish in their trembling,
Part in silent query, “Why”?
Two years ten days no joy could compete.
Renowned in circles select, discreet,
Our couple bid the daily world depart.
Sealing curtains leaked primal sun bright-strewn
‘cross comely sheets, fantasy games oft fulfilled.
No doubt the future shined, out there.
Sparkling horizons, her urgent beckoning.
Glacial azure eyes avert at this sight
Of flawless beauty marred by an unrequited
Inky threshold placed anew across
The spectrum of her charted dream.
Cooling cooing stills her tears momentarily,
Hypocrite rising fresh, predicted.
Hope extended but a moment more,
Remembered embraces reenacted
Pacifying heart-ripping avalanches
Sure to embalm, feigning calm,
Endless love promised, bestowed,
Bloomed, embezzled,
Freshly bamboozled...still,
By her guileful paramour.

Written: January 29, 2024
                      _____________________________________

When a hurricane swirled,
and spread its deluge
of dark evil
onto the fresh green land
gloated
western skies reverberated
with joyous tales
trees had fallen!
ace-high trunk is besotted!
hurricane harms tree life
Had the tree fallen?
not in our endless red streams
not while our thorny limbs,
fed the thirsty roots
while roots are still alive
tunneling deep
deep into the land!

When trees rise, branches
flourish green and fresh in the sun
Tree laughing will fade in the light
and birds shall return
Undoubtedly, the birds will return
The birds will return.

Behold the majesty of a tree
a miracle of nature
standing tall and unwavering
in the face of snow, rain,
and all life's challenges
marvel at divine creation
as trees pray with leafy arms
and wear nests akin to jewels
fools may write poems
the sole divine makes such sights
so witness the wonder
that is a tree—a testament,
to the enduring power
of nature and the divine.

Autumn Leaves

4:50 PM 4 oct 2014

Watching children play in the autumn leaves
Takes me back in time to fond memories

Autumn colors dark and bright
Raking leaves from noon till night

Giant piles of colorful fun
Leaping in then out for a run

Around the the yard can't catch me
Then back into the pile of leaves

Tunneling through to the other side
OUCH a stick poke in the eye

Popping up to rub it well
Hoping its not to red for mom to tell

Then looking around at the mess I made
I grab the rake and clean it up just so I can make it another day

Get Onboard

Been late for the past few hours, girl get out the shower
This don't make no sense
Slow to get up hills
afraid of making spills
Don't mean that we should stop
This love was built to last
stop living in the past
And slowin' down in curves
Relationships get blurred
baby I have heard
I ain't focusing on them,
Your eyes, they make mine spin
My heartbeats feel like pitter-patter
 when I'm running towards you

Chorus:
Stop running beside trains
girl just get onboard
my heart can't take much more
Don't make me miss our time,
or give up on our hope.
We're heading towards us.
Don't look at any other or wish for someone other, I got what you need. Trust in baby jesus, and georgia native peaches, I ain't asking for too much just get on board.

Tunneling through time
like the world was mine
Girl, you know I'm broke
Stop paying me in smoke
My lungs, they need your air
holding out ain't fair
Let this fire burn, I want to feel your passion, your heat is what I'm lackin'. No matter what direction, you are my reflection, introduction, no illusions
I've come to one conclusion
All I need is you

Chorus :

Stop running beside trains
girl just get onboard
Don't make me miss our time,
Love, don't be late or slowdown on our hope.
We're heading towards us.
Don't look at any other or wish for someone other, I got what you need. Trust in baby jesus, and georgia native peaches,
I ain't asking for too much
just get on board...

Outro:
Girl let's make a baby and
drive ourselves crazy
Outside looking in
You are my best friend
our love was meant to last
on or off tracks
I love your kinda crazy
You need me sort of foolish
Girl just get onboard

A Shadorma

My soul has
earth roots tunneling
down into
earth’s belly,
swirling, curling round about,
among creatures there.

My heart rides
their elevator
going down;
deep into
mother’s sheltering, calm womb
and drinks eagerly.

I have swum
womb waters fathoms
deep and dark;
dank caverns
where most humans never go;
embrace her heartbeat.

Oh Gaia,
sacred Mother Earth,
nourish me
until I
can hold no more and my roots
fill your heart soundly.

Premium Member My First Grey Hair

Written by Gail DeBole

I dyed it.
The dye did not take.

So I pulled it out.

Then I climbed to the highest building and shoved it off.
It boomeranged when it hit the ground and came back to me.

Then I tried to bury it so deep within the ground that
I only succeeded in tunneling to the other side of the world.
And it was still with me.

I threw it off into the sunset.
The moon's shine threw it back at me.

I folded it umpteen times and paper clipped it to
Last week's newspaper for recycling.
It was recycled back to me.

I hung it in a facade of suicide.
It slipped through the noose.

I stamped on it.
Beat at it.
Did everything besides forget about it.
And hated it passionately.

And then one day, it had gone.
Of its own will, not mine.
And I could not find it though I searched high and low.
I surveyed the front of my scalp and back
And stared my victory down into the mirror...

A whole head of grey.

Hiking Trip

The whhhhiind wound it’s wicked way through the snarl of broken skeleton like branches. In what was left of the dredges of dusky light it tore past the ancient rotting knot holes protruding from the bristling bark of Grandfather Oaks, creating a whistling, haunting sound that sent shivers up and down her spine. Old dead leaves lifting in sudden bursts of whirlwinds from the darkening forest carpet of pepper brush and poison oak rustled and rushed past touching her face as if trying to direct her attention to the dark void of the forest into which those long dead leaves disappeared.
She stopped. She must keep going but fear was paralyzing her. A quote from JRR Tolkien buzzed in and out of her frightened mind…..“Still round the corner there may wait .. a new road or a secret gate…” It reiterated itself over and over in her mind. ….. Sounds. There were sounds beside ..and inside the wind.. It was more than creaking branches.. more than rustling leaves and whistling wind tunneling through the mazes of old dead moss covered bony trees. It was more felt than heard but …it was heard …a practically palpable sound… but elusive. It … the sound… created itself when she walked… it came from above and behind her. It stopped when she stopped….except for …except for …the breathing.
She could feel it ..breathing. She thought to turn her collar up and cover her neck. Oh so scared ! Frozen scared! So alone! How do I get out of here!! It’s so cold! And then… she practically fainted as ..she …she felt it! The unmistakable Ssslow hot ..breath ..rasping ..on the back of her neck! …

DAM IT ALL SUSAN !! WOULD YOU WAKE TA HECK UP AND GET OUTA BED! YOU’RE GONNA BE LATE FOR YOUR CAMPING TRIP!!!

Dackel

Newcastle-upon-Tyne Dackel was nine
He sniffed the breeze for the traces of Rhine
In the show there was a foe
                                        Badger was biting his toe
He whined and sent badger a valentine

Roger the badger went to Kebbit the rabbit
A sneak and scratching dick was badger's habit
And he gave the buck a ruck
                                         Dackel's valentine guck
"We really got sucked in by this muck"

Hollow Morn'

morning light seeps in
like a wisp of a breath
in winters frigid air

spectrum of silver light
like sunlit cushioned clouds
against paper thin walls

as shadows quickly
appear: rush to these paper walls
like tunneling snakes

light brims golden,
spattering dewdrop fields-
glittering jewels

their moistening of
blades bending to the winds
echoing a hollow morn'

Exotic Electrons

   Exotic Electrons
Title: Exotic electrons

In the house of atom,
Electron resting at its bottom.
Eager to pop up and down,
Like a clown.

In the discharge tube, it took its birth,
Photon too assisted it with mirth.
It led to the discovery of X-ray,
A boon to the society, one must say.

Revolving in atomic orbits and its shells,
Are the places where it dwells.
Pairing up with opposite spin,
For magnetons to properly align.

Its addition gives reduction,
Whereas it's removal causes oxidation.
This chemistry leads to electrolysis,
Resulting in battery analysis.

It's every hop and pop transition emitted light,
Its excitement made a spectral line bright.
It's every absorption and emission,
Resulted in a laser invention.

Electroplating, electrochromism and electroluminescence,
Make every one feel my presence.
But it wonders to know it's own scope,
Which led to the discovery of electron microscope..

It can be made totally free,
 To wander and spree.
Breaking a bond, crossing a layer and
Tunneling in a barrier,
Makes this charge carrier a Warrior.

Even though it is charged negatively,
Its motion in a device works positively.
It's density in a material is significant,
For all transport phenomena to become dominant.

Bit confused about its dual state,
Unaware of what will be its fate.
Decided to be diplomatic,
Matter and energy became systematic.

There was no doubt a conflict.
But to end up in a begift.
Atomic city made a revolution,
For progression in science perception.

Shake N' Bake Love Bang

Shake; shake do the shake n'
bake, got me another round of
hot sauce love bang; Bang!!!!
Quick to jump the bamboo
stick, given it a whirl of double
pleasure gets you off by
any doubts that I can blow your
mind.
Which now is fully bloomed
with excitement as we come
tunneling in a pure inticimy
earthquake, between the
sheets...
Where I've raddled your cage
through the jungle of my hut,
You can no longer excape: So
gore this thirst full erge to hunt
for prey to eat as I catch you
Apon this journey...
Hoping to pounce on you, roll
you around the field in secrecy
to simmer down the heat and
rise among the sun right by
your side with a steamy shake
n' bake love bang; bang Yeah you
Know you want some; So come
On And get me.....if you can!!!

Premium Member Dig Dug

This little guy in white is tunneling around the place.
He is aware of the many dangers he will face.
There are pookas and fygars situated all around.
Those adversaries can sneak themselves right through the ground.

He gets more points by dropping rocks on their head.
If not, he can inflate them until they burst instead.
Throughout the game, he must stay one step ahead.
Those nasty little creatures would like to see him dead.

Dig dug gets treats after dropping rock number two.
In the middle of the ground, bonuses appear when due.
From a carrot to a pineapple is what he can get.
As many as eight thousand points this digger may net.

The dragon-like fygars pose an extra threat to this guy.
The ability to spit fire is something we can’t deny.
Our hero gets more points when he is deeper in the ground.
I don’t think a better video game can be found.
