Premium Member Santa Tries It On

Ol' Claus was drunk from strong bourbon whiskey
Then touched Rudolph and tried to get frisky
Rudolph said no way
Us deer's are not gay
And placed a hoof print on his fat hiney...

Premium Member She Tries

When she hears him snore
she slips out of bed.
And tends to her cheeks
that he’d slapped bright red.

Locked in the bathroom,
she breaks down and cries.
For she can’t please him,
even though she tries.

He calls her a pig
because of her weight.
And then forces sex
when his needs won’t wait.

With a trembling hand,
she swabs her split lip.
And scrubs the stains from
her blood-spattered slip.

Pain is a part of
her daily abuse.
And she wants to leave,
but it’s just no use.

She’s petrified when
the beatings occur.
And yet, if she ran,
he swore he’d kill her.

Her entire body
is bruised, black and blue.
And she’s so frightened
of what he might do.

Premium Member Sneeze Louise Tries To Ride a Rainbow

I usually don't talk about rainbows.
I'd rather talk about farmers or crows.

But if you pierce a rainbow, does it not bleed?
Into one color, for every intention, desire, and need?

Brothers and sisters and cousins and nephews,
I care not how descends your Muse.

Listen to the string meant only for you.
The angels bless your every "kerchoo."

Premium Member Wonder Awaits

A pink flower to smell, watch a red ball bounce, see
a clown, a puppy to embrace, a mother's smile.
A child laughs at each new discovery--all a mystery
To see the world through a child's eyes
would be like looking through an unchipped
glass and suddenly see ourselves before
we became time-worn and world-wise.
A new lesson we'd learn daily, canceling
those tired tries. Everyone would be a friend,
even a tiny, interesting bug: no exceptions.
Think about this: a child assumes the world
is wonderful and wants to give it a hug; while
we've become complacent and accept wonder
with a shrug.

                  enchantment is seen
through the eyes of the children
                  we should open ours

Premium Member Monster Tries To Eat His Hurt Away

Someone hurt monster's feelings, so he decided to eat.
He ate a toaster, cord and all, quite a great treat.
Devoured a couple of chickens, one with two crooked feet.
Slathered up a bowl of gravy with carrots and one beat.

Monster was still sad, so he ate a 1956 Chevy car seat.
A Wal-mart greeter who forgot to greet,
a sheep without a voice, a pathetic feat.
A fleecy comforter, and a worn out old bed sheet.

Still felt hurt, so he decided to add a yellow parakeet.
The parakeet squawked, so he let it fly up the street.
Someone gave him a ham hock, so now he had some meat.
He is still upset, so he continues to eat….

Death: a Vision of Tries

D: Dream
E: expires
A: and
T: truth
H: hinders.
But a memory never dies.
It reminds a vision of tries.
And offers a taste of cries,
That learns sweetness or jealous from flies.

Premium Member Victor Tries Again

All I can be if it’s left up to me
Is a brain in a tank full of bubbles
Can’t hear it, can’t see it, I only can be it,
And that’s just the start of my troubles

It was no disease that killed most of me
But a brain catcher down at the docks
Now, my one sensation, a dull static hum
And occasional electric shocks

I think I recall being near six feet tall
A man who could see, smell and hear
I could feel hot and cold and I thought I’d grow old
With only arthritis to fear

As a brain, I’m estranged from my mortal remains
I know that this dark is a sham
I cannot see light in the day or the night
But I think… and that means that I am

With stimuli lacking, my sanity cracking
When will my mad captor devise
A restructured me, so that I can see
Through some poor soul’s extracted eyes

                                   ***

At last, there is light, goodbye to my night
Will I frighten or will I delight
I know how this goes for history shows
Should you see me then you shall take flight

Through this hocus pocus, I cannot yet focus
Is that the doc’s form lurking there?
I once read the book and however I look
I’m gonna give people a scare

My vision is clearing and so is my hearing
I see I have rather nice hands
And I have a soft voice… did the doc make a choice
For my voice doesn’t sound like a man’s

“It lives,” the doc cries with his beast by his side
Did the monster manoeuvre the knife
It stomps to my side with its arms open wide
I think I’m the bloody thing’s ‘wife’

But his nightmarish fun has barely begun
As I had it away on my toes
But he’ll have his fun because I cannot run…
In stilettos and pantyhose

Premium Member My Hair Tries To Define Me

My hair tries to define me
I laugh in her straggly non- curls
Hoping to shame me, she taunts me
About being messy and unkempt

Together we could be a social disgrace
except only she cares, wanting a brushing,
regular combs run through her, etcetera.
She is much more prissy than I am.

Unbothered by her begging and pleading,
I march on kicking the possibility of a well coiffured head
out of my way,
watching her hopes and dreams land in mire and muck.

She glares at me from a mud puddle
with ticks and lice hopping onto her.
I truly do not care.

Her cowlick promenades around
the bugs’ barn dance.
This does not concern me.
I will never define myself by my hair.
My hair tries to define me

Premium Member Bat Tries To Help Me Get Rid of a Pesky Toad

A bumpy toad jumped on my nose and refused to get off.
I tried to gross him out, much phlegm I garnered in a cough.
He was determined and held on tightly with his webbed toes.
I was irritated because after all, it is my own private nose.

Come help me! I yelled to a bat in the belfry below.
He came up and bit the toad on his middle little toe.
The toad bit him back, actually sliced off his head with his teeth.
I was really grossed out when I saw what was underneath.

Premium Member Cletus O'Toole Tries Skiing

Cletus O'Toole tested the slopes at Vail

He met some trees as he sped t'ward the vale

      'Twas a short-lived journey

         Sprawling on a gurney

His hapless schuss left him woozy and pale

Premium Member Derek Tries To Please

Derek tried to satisfy his mother, so he gave his horse a drink.
Then he knit the horse some earmuffs, they were pretty soft and pink.
You need to give the horse a lift and a break said his brother.
He looks ridiculous carrying that horse, argued Derek’s mother.

Trump Tries To Be Ambiguous

Trump Tries To Be Ambiguous

Trees will drop leaves when deciduous,
And if Trump he tries to be ambiguous;
Feeling crappy,
Wearing nappy;
Being an idiot with has been contiguous.
