Best Toddling Poems

Wait Raven,I Am Coming

Darkness in the horizon,
one Sun seems to be not enough;
distant cries of vultures dig out
carcasses of haunting days
from the grave of my memory.
Those mascara eyed women,
whom I once adored and gave my heart
without getting back theirs'...
for whom I had many toddling nights
with slipping peg from my hand...
are the causes of what I am today.
They never cared to look back,
but how much did I long for them!
Even today,standing on the brink
of my life,I know I love them!
So I created Raven,
this mascara eyed beautiful,mystical woman,
for,I always wanted my death
to be beautiful and mystical;
and Raven is my death!
I kept her waiting in the mistful graveyard
among those ghost like gravestones,
with the vultures crying and circling above
in the leaden gloomy sky.
I know this will be my perfect end;
the final moment has come,
I will approach her,kneel down
and pray for her hand.
This time she will not refuse me,
I will take her hand and kiss it..
she will come in my arms and embrace me;
how I longed for this...
the eternal embrace of life and death!

Wait Raven.......... I am coming......

Premium Member A Strange Dream

Recently in my dream
a wild pigeon flew inside my house
landed on the corridor and
turning into a  baby
came toddling to me.
I lifted him,held in my arms
and loitered here and there.
I asked , “Dear,
when will you turn again into a bird ? “
But before listening his reply
I woke up from  sleep.
It was five morning ,
chirping of the birds heard
three wild pigeons  walking
on the courtyard .
I have some fruit trees growing
at the backward and courtyard
of my house
on which they usually perch.

Irreplaceable

This is my humble dedication to our fellow poet Krish Radhakrishna, who recently mourns the loss of his dear mother. I came to know about this after reading his blog. My sincere prayers for his mother's soul to rest in peace and my heartfelt condolences to the whole family.

She yearns to catch the first glimpse of you,
The day you are out from her tender womb,
Her priceless pearl that gleams with hopes new,
As she holds you close, tears of joy overflows.

Her heart skips a beat everytime you stumble,
As you take your first toddling steps to walk;
She forgets her hunger without a grumble,
As she patiently feeds you for hours.

She has been your eyes until you had
Your own perspective;
She has been your wings until you gave
The first flutter to reach new destinations,
To give wings to your cherished dreams.

Nothing in this world can replace a mother's love,
Her pure soul now safe in Heavenly abode.
With her sincere devout prayers from above,
She will guide you forever like a beacon from sky.

                         Why do you haunt me dear cousin of mine

                         I desperate to leave all this sorrow behind!

                        But how can I wash from my young memory

                          Or chisel your face from our family tree?

                       The laughter and giggles and joys at the park

                          Mama in the kitchen and songs of the lark

                          The rain on the rooftop like pattering feet

                            Like toddling cousins in childhood sweet.

                         The mists off the river moistened each face

                         Niagara's cool waters in our childhood place

                  My soul screams in agony "Oh....what have you done?"

                         The mud pies long dried in the afternoon sun

                      But muddied in rains of those tears that we cried

                       When our family was torn to no longer abide

                  And the quest for the West pulled us children apart,

                     You were pulled away, and it shattered your heart.

                     But remember the rays of those once sunny days?

                         Mud pies on the riverbank memory stays.

                  But those memories muddied and bloodied for years

                                for when you took your life

                                     Left us drowning

                                           in tears.

Of and About It All

*** OF AND ABOUT IT ALL ***

Life’s  so much a-coming or a-going,
With hours of waiting or flowing
From now to next
While we step about, hopefully blessed —
On a quest for things major or minor to cherish

In our sometimes to come. We sojourn thence
From this place over to a rushing creek’s edged cliffs—
To linger, to draw some solace, some rest…
And there, we see suddenly manifest:
The sacred red rose, growing
Near, beautifully on high,
Surrounded by the flames of our worship-full prayers.

Life’s a range of highs and lows waving
Aside the roads that fork and lead ventures
Along moss-lined knowns
Or beneath shaded canopies of unknowns.

Our searching, dawn-to-dawn roamings
Carry life’s tales of getting and giving;
Suffering and forgiving;
Ever grateful for living and breathing.
Life brings mapped ways that vacillate
Over ranges of changes; lessons
And puzzles; ideas, moods and feelings
Immersed in working and dreaming of someday
Realizing true love — wondrous, sweet.

From birth and learning to stand, to speak…On to
Old-age dimming our eyesight as happens…
Even to such gifted artists as
   Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, and Claude Monet.
Yet, they went on painting masterpieces, nearly blind —
 With God’s inspiration helping them to find
A new approach, perceiving and creating
With their Inner Eyes.

Life’s an orbiting
Between reality and imagining;
Between perchance and possibly —
Between the often said, “If-only’s…”
And the magical, “Look there
At what’s  already appeared.”

Life’s a calendar of playing and celebrating,
But includes sad times and final wakes…T’is
Somewhat a dizzying dance of circling turns,
Of rounding passes for however long
Until that unknown day of going on beyond…

Taking our storied hours along,
Relating how we stayed
Alligned to God’s willed ways,
For the good of the All and Everlasting,
From our toddling time
To our leaping with starlit promises
To compose a delighting song,
Unfurl wings and fly —
Eternal

I have heard
From the very wise,
That In the smile of a child,
You can see the vision of divinity.
In the innocence of those eyes,
Are the essence of serenity.
In their loving cuddles,
You feel God’s embrace....
So I ask
Should I pray to my Lord
Or play with my child?

And they say-
The sound of Child’s laughter
Can bring joys of the morning birds!
Their toddling little feet echo the rhythm of the herds!
So I ask
Should I seek God in his creation
Or in the joys of my child?

Later in bed, at slumber’s door
I wrestled with doubts, no more!
the soft gentle breathing next to me,
Had calmness and peace
Of the deep blue sea.
A quiet prayer, I whispered, to the Lord,
And  slept,
My child  in my arms,
feeling God close to me.

Maximillian

MAXIMILLIAN
I am about to take a trip into the lens of thought.
I am going to magnify the face to be.
Sometimes it may be pretty as ugly goes.
Otherwise, it is an ugly feature.

This journey I am partaking is sociologically constructed.
It defines why the world is stuck on stupid.
Nothing more than you being more refined than me.
I see you are a masterpiece.

Expeditious I am.
In search of new populations, I travel the Pacific.
Indigenous people are there to discover.
I will not trip when I see a different sister and brother.

This crossing must be made in this day and age.
Excursion digress to acumen investigated.
Natives of new country longing to be unearth.
I am in quest for a difference in the universe.

Toddling to not be a todd,
I will ramble the Eastern and Western hemispheres.
As the explorers did long ago, by vessel I go.
From East Pacific to West, I look for what is there.
I imagine only reptiles and amphibians in the East and water mammals sunbathing in the West.
This is a knowledge quest endeavoring.

If I do discover indigenous people,
I will be very cautious to not assume their normality.
Embracing their difference, if I am allowed.
How long I am there, who knows?
I came to educate and inspire.

Through my navigation system, I will share out.
If a signal is not given, I am disallowed.
Therefore, will I return to my home land, is question to ponder.

Insofar as I sally forth imagism via looking through the lens of thought,
Expeditious is my cognizance, as I trudge forward for gen, the world is a brilliant place to be within.

"Sailing On"
To live is to die but not before the ocean explored
We are the captains of our own lives, set sail young ones to the great beyond
Do not cast anchors in that which you know
  You should be filled with curiosity for waters untraversed
The amorphous domain of liquid wonderment is limitless for years to come

Though life and love are based on bow and stern
Sometimes we have will have to dock if only to wonder, wishing more
And then to go full throttle back on the open seas potential
We still must heed cautiously those ships that pass in the night
Even if they are but journeymen themselves, others will mean you harm

Just remember they might loot your future dreams
But they can never take experiences past
So rely on those per chance to dream of better days ahead
And for one dream taken build two more
Because in fact mixed blessings are the fish not caught in the first casting

"A Youth's Everything"
A first trial's bust seeks open arms to omnipresent consolation
Attempts conclude in unconditional surrender but for an every time pleasantness
There breeds the encouragement to succumb to gravity
And often goes down the child, to liken the second part success, a misdirection all the same
Stay away I say, Stay away
As for some neglect makes the heart grow fonder of you with absence
Encourage only for trying to conquer ground on waddling toes, failure be put aside
To refrain from being there, disappointment is a part of life
In tripping and falling everyone must learn to walk
Let them learn instead to sulk alone, autonomy will make them stronger
And when they succeed on toddling feet soon there will be pride unlimited
Vicarious joy for to the child who learned not to cry to you
But to resurrect itself on its own bipedal terms,
To leave alone, to love itself enough, to fight for gains other than your presence
And someday the youngster eventually will do the same to teach the best ways
Taught by the best in its eyes all because you allowed it to roam and face certain facts
Existence whether good or bad must be fought for on its own

A Woman of Virtue

For nine months
With love and pain
With joy and suffering
In her womb she carried me
A mother she is
And a woman of virtue.

When there was no one, she was the only one
Even left alone, she never leaves me alone
Indeed, she’s a mother
And a woman of virtue.

When toddling, she cared
And still directs when I could run
She is a mother of the child and the adult
In her thoughts are all, even the descendants to come
Many names will I call her; “A mother of all”
And a Woman of Virtue.

Camping Is :

Tiny, angel faced, fuzzy headed, little girls with baggy pants, bowed legs, toddling about.

A Wet Minnie Mouse towel hanging on a makeshift clothesline,
alongside others with college logos's and Elvis ;

Fifty something year old women in skimpy, ill fitted bathing suits,
unaware that gravity has shifted when they were not looking ;

Noisy, gas, golf carts loaded with teenage boys,
looking for golf carts loaded with teenage girls ;

Pot bellied, old men looking at golf carts full of teenage girls...wistfully ;

A big swimming pool full of screaming kids, splashing and pushing
their very best pal under the water ;

Cooking aroma's wafting through the park at five o'clock each evening ;

Camp fires burning until dawn ;

Fat ladies eating huge piles of ice cream stacked on a cone,
vowing to diet next week ;

a young couple with two babies renting a cheap, on-sight camper,
waiting for fancier digs, when they hit the lottery ;

A young father, beer bottle in hand, pushing a child in a stroller round and
round the park, until the baby falls asleep ;

Old men pulling into the park with rigs costing more than a house,
not to be out done by the guys that came before them.

Surreal

Like tipper tapping tiny feet toddling
I watched your mirriard of droplets
stream down my car window
Night sky like the backdrop of a show
and the lightning strikes adding to the mood of the performance
where ordinarily it might highlight or cast creepy shadows
Several crashes of thunder the only sound affects
breaking the deathly silence you could have sliced through
Stormy air and the countless hairs
of the body anticipating action
was the change in atmosphere of any such production
Yet for all the familiarity of yet another down turned weather front
something was amiss
I sat there trying to will my merry-go-round world to stop
to let me off and set me free once more
that I might strike out loose and run wild once more
like a horse loose of the reigns widly galloping away
alas I couldn’t budge
just sat their frozen to my seat
despite needing my home comforts around this hour

Knocking every ounce of confidence from me
breaking me to a point
where my tears were but one with the evenings downpour
No chocolate or ice-cream treats for pick-me-ups
nor interval for refreshment here
which would have been at least a little concillation
No, right now the world stood still
as our relationship played over from start
until someone knocked on the glass
concerned as to whether or not I was alright
Black and boggle eyed from wet mascara and numerous tears
like something out of a horror film
I turned to see who dare break this spell
Nodding to say I was fine
but not stupid they could see far from it
They pulled me out into secure arms
You could have been anyone
but you were gentle and understanding
A raging fire warmed by chilled bones
with simple hot sweet tea and the warmth of a blanket
your eyes soaked me in drawing out my story
you listened intently
I poured out my soul
You drank me in
Bringing me out of myself
you turnd so much sadness to humor
putting another chapter of life to bed
opening another as day broke through
I am now thankful for what passed
for without that part of life
we might never be making our own sweet music
creating future ambition and drive
Nesting and nestling as one together
Souls on one ship we sail new seas

Tipsy Turvy Nights

Toddling
stumbling
fumbling
tumbling
are some nights,like toddling stumbling child,
tipsy turvy fumbling tumbling mind.
