Sailing On

"Sailing On"
To live is to die but not before the ocean explored
We are the captains of our own lives, set sail young ones to the great beyond
Do not cast anchors in that which you know
You should be filled with curiosity for waters untraversed
The amorphous domain of liquid wonderment is limitless for years to come

Though life and love are based on bow and stern
Sometimes we have will have to dock if only to wonder, wishing more
And then to go full throttle back on the open seas potential
We still must heed cautiously those ships that pass in the night
Even if they are but journeymen themselves, others will mean you harm

Just remember they might loot your future dreams
But they can never take experiences past
So rely on those per chance to dream of better days ahead
And for one dream taken build two more
Because in fact mixed blessings are the fish not caught in the first casting

"A Youth's Everything"
A first trial's bust seeks open arms to omnipresent consolation
Attempts conclude in unconditional surrender but for an every time pleasantness
There breeds the encouragement to succumb to gravity
And often goes down the child, to liken the second part success, a misdirection all the same
Stay away I say, Stay away
As for some neglect makes the heart grow fonder of you with absence
Encourage only for trying to conquer ground on waddling toes, failure be put aside
To refrain from being there, disappointment is a part of life
In tripping and falling everyone must learn to walk
Let them learn instead to sulk alone, autonomy will make them stronger
And when they succeed on toddling feet soon there will be pride unlimited
Vicarious joy for to the child who learned not to cry to you
But to resurrect itself on its own bipedal terms,
To leave alone, to love itself enough, to fight for gains other than your presence
And someday the youngster eventually will do the same to teach the best ways
Taught by the best in its eyes all because you allowed it to roam and face certain facts
Existence whether good or bad must be fought for on its own

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
