Mother and Child
I have heard From the very wise, That In the smile of a child, You can see the vision of divinity. In the innocence of those eyes, Are the essence of serenity. In their loving cuddles, You feel God’s embrace.... So I ask Should I pray to my Lord Or play with my child? And they say- The sound of Child’s laughter Can bring joys of the morning birds! Their toddling little feet echo the rhythm of the herds! So I ask Should I seek God in his creation Or in the joys of my child? Later in bed, at slumber’s door I wrestled with doubts, no more! the soft gentle breathing next to me, Had calmness and peace Of the deep blue sea. A quiet prayer, I whispered, to the Lord, And slept, My child in my arms, feeling God close to me. 05/10/2019
