Best Throwing Away Poems
What is to come
if not tomorrow,
when all is left is
no time to borrow
Moments remain still
nothing else matters,
seconds stop ticking
and yesterday shatters
Was today really lived
even any memory made,
as mundane and routine
overshadow and fade
Death only comes
when we never live,
dwelling on pain
all becoming negative
Throwing away hours
and wasting a minute,
the time of your life
is surely not infinite
Live relentlessly until
the last breath is taken,
dream on and on again
until illusion is shaken
Be left with memories
not regret or sorrow,
in time for today
if not tomorrow.
I sing praise to the home-maker,
forgotten hero of the world,
whose actions raise up good children,
whether they be a boy or girl.
Whose presence is there to guide us
in a world that can seem half-damned,
who invest more love into us
than a day-care aide even can.
Who have a vested interest in
seeing that we are brought up well,
their children being their life’s work,
the results of this you can tell:
Less instance of mental illness,
less nihilism and despair,
less major social dysfunction
knowing that someone will be there.
They also provide a model
to their children subconsciously,
showing them how to structure their
own futures homes and families.
They give a agree of value to
a child just starting in life,
to know they’re so important that
another will freely sacrifice.
They teach those kids to realize,
that in a world so harsh and tough,
their existence isn’t nothing,
they are truly worthy of love.
And I think it should be mentioned
what home-makers do for their spouse,
building the kind of refuge that
reality rarely allows.
Making it so the house is more
then a shelter you happen to own,
making a place for life to happen,
turning board and glass to a home.
So many homes now without,
and the results haven’t been great,
children are depressed and stressed out,
many marriages end in hate.
Millennials not having children,
they never were shown why they should,
too many drugs and school shooters,
wherever we’ve gone, it’s not good.
Using daycare, the latch and key,
too much emphasis on career,
tells our kids they’re second-fiddle,
would be easier if they weren’t here.
Throwing away the cornerstone
of any balanced child’s mind,
demonizing those who stay home
when in truth I think we would find
That all of us would do better
with more stay-at-home parenting,
we should pray for more home-makers,
on their shoulders rest near everything…
Sometimes Heartbroken
I know I still love you
After all that you’ve done
You tell me different lies
Than you told everyone
I try to deny
The pain that’s built up inside
Though, even when I smile
My heart starts to divide
Sometimes heartbroken
Now that I finally realize
The words that you’ve spoken
Were really all lies
Sometimes Heartbroken
I’m dying inside
And I can’t seem to get over you
No matter how hard I tried
Now every time I see you
I feel emptiness in my heart
But then I remember
How you deceived me from the start
Even then I had a feeling
That this may never last
But I can’t help thinking
About throwing away that past
Sometimes heartbroken
Now that I finally realize
The words that you’ve spoken
Were really all lies
Sometimes Heartbroken
I’m dying inside
And I can’t seem to get over you
No matter how hard I tried
So tell me why
You had to lie to me
You may have tricked everyone around you
But you were the one who just couldn’t see
Sometimes heartbroken
Now that I finally realize
The words that you’ve spoken
Were really all lies
Sometimes Heartbroken
I’m dying inside
And I can’t seem to get over you
No matter how hard I tried
Sometimes Heartbroken
As I look back on this
I find that I’m no longer broken
As these words pass my lips
Sometimes Heartbroken
They couldn't kill their friends
to gain life and freedom,
watching blood gush made them faint...
throwing away swords
got them slaughtered as traitors!
Defeat fear or die;
in this arena, death breathes...
afraid of lions?
Make the gladiator's choice!
Boiling shells crack down hard upon raining rooftops
None doth any apparitional material cover upon her arrogant gift
She hast not laid down upon her last upstanding
Glass convails images of the inconceivable
Throwing away the Sun in blackened sickness
No guilt, no shame,
Unfeeling the inevitable eternal despisement
Swarms choking the insides with a blanket
They whisper in your ear "I love you"
They grant you no delegable antidote
Pig-wrapped in a wasteful pursuit of carnal futility
Living out the rest of days hollow
Old and carolled she slips on the filth of plastic suit
No, she won't live that long

I’m dreaming with my eyes of faith,
Godly dreams hope you’ll see.
My dreams backed with God’s promises,
‘New Earth’ … for you and me.
New when God’s will, “on earth is done,”
for years heard people pray.?
On beautiful earth we call home,
God’s Kingdom … will hold sway.
Christ is King of God’s Kingdom, all
authority received.
In heaven, and right here below,
on earth … no one will grieve.
Dream of throwing away wheelchairs,
our walkers, our canes too.
Isaiah wrote that we’ll leap about,
just as we’ve seen …deer do
.
Our friends who’ve lost their sight, observe
at last see me and you.
Show them, won’t need try explain
the pretty color … blue.
Years dreamed of God’s promised blessings,
God’s Paradise soon here.
Hope you’ll dream through your eyes of faith,
God’s will on earth … is near.
projecting our wanting love self
we imagine who we want
seeing our forever soul partner
fashioning them out of smoke
sagely ignoring reflective honesty mirrors
throwing ideas that do not fit
into a hot fiery furnace
ignoring the cries of reality
turning our backside to ashes
crucifying truths that don’t fit
projecting our wanting love needs
we envision an ideal life
with scoundrels who hurt us
expecting a revelation to turn
them into our prince charming
throwing away family and feelings
into wide crevices and ditches
turning our backs on screams
inside our heart that die
with unseen truths in mirrors
I know the fact that it's Facebook
it somehow gives you an excuse not to abide
by even the most basic of grammar rules.
And I admit seeing an apostrophe
where it's not needed kills me a bit inside.
But, alas, I will restrain myself
from starting any spelling duels.
The truth is you just wouldn't win,
not even the slightest chance.
And even if you did there would be
no satisfaction on your behalf.
It would always come back again
to the same redundant dance;
me - taking the time to voice my message clearly,
and you having a big hair-pulling laugh.
It's true, there is a great deal of time saved,
cutting the words short and omitting punctuation.
But by God it's like throwing away
years of hard-earned education!
I wouldn't mind writing like a five-year-old
(aside from the fact I'm almost twenty).
Some say it's nothing to fret about -
isn't the rest of the world's problems plenty?
The fact is writing is one of the few things
I can keep in order
(Lord knows my room doesn't fit the bill!).
So if by chance you find yourself,
staring zombie-eyed Into a computer screen,
with extra time to fill,
I hope that you will remember your I before E except C's,
that you will recall the three different there's of English.
Maybe someday you too will join
this small club of Grammar Nazis.
Perhaps you'll find there's more to words
than just ink on a page...
For you have the whole world within you,
first step is too climb out of your cage.
There were things of mine in the drawers that could be thrown out,
But I kept gravitating to the things that were his.
His Public School 45 autograph book. It was red, white, and blue leatherette with
a zipper.
Inside was his hand, writing the names of favorite teachers,
And the dreams of the future you have when you are 13.
His father, an old world German who never shared himself,
left ink blotches of emotion under his hand.
In another drawer, the fancy leather passport wallet complete with passport and
photo.
He was 16.
I don’t remember him talking about anything else with the same twinkle in his
heart
As he did about the 6 months he spent in Germany.
Here is a poem written to him on his 40th birthday,
by his best friend in the world.
The gift made so much better because it was so unlike this IBM Executive
to write personal poetry full of memories.
There was an untouched underwear drawer.
Belt buckles.
Cards of love and joy that I had given to him over many years.
A collection of Christmas wallets.
A yo-yo. Gift from a child with nothing else to give.
Old prescription glasses. Why do we keep those? Pocket knives, hankies.
A sweater and socks I knitted for him,
Always said they were too good to wear.
I store them still.
Every drawer I opened, every cupboard, every box stored away throughout the
whole house had something of his tucked away within.
A stray bullet or black powder ball. A toothpick holder.
A cork screw. A flint, patches, pictures of his ‘49 Olds, a comb, a watch, pocket
treasures.
~ Maybe if I go clean someplace safe like the fridge.
And there was the bottle of Zeller Schwartz Katz wine
bought for the coming Christmas season of entertaining.
This is foolishness, hanging on.
In spite of saving all this stuff
the hole in me is still there. ...
But I just could not throw him away.
There was a time
A space
A place
That I cared about you
Now it is gone
And I don’t even care about me
Dead to the world
I live for nothing
Pistol to the head
Revolves around living
Pressed hard enough
It leaves an impression
Powder and blood
They will figure it out
Now is that the way you wanted to go?
Time is neither easy nor funny
It has its calamities.
Can you face it is the question?
Living is like burning a candle
When it gets down to end it is all about time
It’s all about throwing away the living and
Under standing that truth is a state of mind.
Given the stars above and what the saints preach
There is never enough to stop the end of time.
"I'm not your pinche half-eaten
left-over burrito
that you don't really want anymore
but feel guilty about throwing away."
Either way, dude
Heartburn's coming.
The clouds look so harmless, so meaningless
But when they're there, and the sun can't shine through,
I feel you a little bit less.
Dear Mum...
I hope you watched me today,
I tried to let nothing get in the way of my unexpected ambition.
Seeing my dreams come to fruition, though, is nothing compared
to having you here to be able tell you about it.
I am unlearning morse code, it's like going blind,
I have to adjust, change, roll with the times and get used to it.
I feel like you and I are without a conduit.
I went to send you a message,
but is a message still sent if you're not there?
I feel scared, the phone is a reminder
of when you'd tell me to be just a little bit kinder.
Listen, remember, regret.
Repeat.
Look at the photographs, cry, weep, repeat.
The touch points of my life are still in place, milestones still not met
but the memory of your smiling face
stops me like a fox in the road,
scavenging on tatty Polaroids to feed
something that everyone says I should be soon throwing away.
I'm not ready yet to do all that.
Your fingerprints on a glass are the only things I can make last.
i do not fear the legislation of man
or the degradation of individual rights.
i do not fear instant gratification
as it's message more aggressively rapes every outlet of entertainment,
even in seeing how it tears into our children.
i do not fear it.
i do not wonder why the dark side has power.
i do not wonder why kids don't respect adults and adults don't respect each other.
i do not wonder why there's so much death and murder and sickness and divorce.
i do not wonder why the clubs are full and churches are empty and abortion is legal.
i do not wonder.
today is the day people are making the choice of just who it is they serve.
today is the day the family bond is broken over self-importance, power-struggles, and sexual deviance.
today is the day that those who lead, prey on those who have trusted them and disarm those who knew better.
today is the day we have to lock our cars and our doors and our hearts.
today is that day.
but know this:
no law of any government can direct the heart of man.
no restriction can limit his ultimate rebellion,
and no physical depravity, his spiritual.
you can keep a tiger in a cage.
you can restrict his consumption to strictly vegetarian.
you can train him to sit and stand on command,
and to jump through hoops
and to walk on fire.
but you can never make him anything other than a tiger.
there is a much larger issue that is being clouded with the debris of the American constitution and its amendments-
an issue that reaches deep inside the being of a human, into what makes a man a man.
it is not our civil liberties we are being robbed of;
it's our hope, our faith, our strength.
it is not our personal security that is being invaded;
it's our minds, our morals, our purity.
it is not our children's sensitive psyches we are protecting;
it's our comfort, our feelings, ourselves.
it is not fetal tissue we are throwing away;
it's our children, our responsibility, our future.
see, humanity as a whole will arrive to the destination,
but each individual will be responsible for how we get there.
consider what's more important; what you do or what you know,
and remember that out of your heart will the entirety of your actions flow.
Where is the love? Where is the hugs?
It's a family meltdown, disturbingly so.
Adult children who think life is all about them.
Pent up emotions, anger and frustrations,
Petty disagreements, throwing away one another
Like paper products thrown in the dump.
Preferring a hug from their pets than each other.
It makes me sad to hear so many families feuding.
But today, seriously, give family your love and even a hug.
Communicate softly and listen to each other's view,
Even when it's hard and still healing from the hurts done.
Let's not allow another family member to pass on without forgiving.
"Talk is cheap, communication is priceless"
Quote from Patricia Lees
Kids running crazy around the house
Is he at the bar again?
Fast train to wit's End
Throwing away money you don’t have
Here he comes, strolling in
Stinking of booze and smoke
Sorry, darlin, got caught up with the boys
Shooting pool and unno, shaking the week off
Aw come on, don’t be like that
Don’t start that damn crying, Jesus Christ
A man can’t go out for a few hours
I have to come back to this
What’s for dinner?
Hey, Mamma, kick him out
He isn’t gonna change anytime soon
Go get some love, real love
Love yourself
Tell him to take a left down Last Laugh Lane
