Tethered, Weathered and Feathered

Tethered, Weathered and Feathered

Whom is that man who got tethered?
Looks like he is overly well weathered
Oh my, he really, really got feathered.

Premium Member Lashes Tethered With Tears - Constanza Form

From life you chose to disappear
Yielding to waves that lured you in
Never knowing what could have been

Each day I'm haunted by grim fear
Anguished by the most dreadful thought ~
What had I done to break your heart

My lashes tether to each tear
When the sun slips into the sea
I cry, wishing it could be me

I miss you so, my love, my dear
I ache day and night, all alone
My fate, a visage I bemoan

Oh, how I yearn to hold you near
Like the sun, I shall slink away
to rest in your arms 'neath the bay

From life you chose to disappear
Each day I'm haunted by grim fear
My lashes tether to each tear
I miss you so, my love, my dear
Oh how I yearn to hold you near

Premium Member Tethered To a Moment

With just one glance her enchanting smile won
Cadence of his heart crooning: she was the one
And fairy-tale of sweethearts had thus begun
Stealing stealthily the missives of alluring eyes
Gawking sundown on ebullient magenta skies
Welcoming newfound tempo passions bestow
In temple of his soul where halos of love glow.

Tethered to that moment strums song of yore
Serenading love, lauding memories sublime,
Extolling moment divine, firmly etched in time,
Never conquered since, nor tendered before,
Pulsing strings of hearts its rhythms now implore
Gilded autumns of fervor to forever blaze ardor
As melodies romantic soar, warbling evermore.

Years have traversed, yet, he treasures that smile
Eloquent in her style, as sensuous eyes beguile,
While tolling bells of fate blissful hymns chime:
Oh! how one sweet moment became a lifetime,
Neither shall it wither, nor fade from its prime;
This moment divine, now memorialized in time~
Tethered to it journeys, his blessed life sublime.

Premium Member Tethered To Oblivion

Short shadows stretched by a sinking sun,
darkness denotes the day is done.

And Sol slips over the edge of the Earth
tethered to oblivion,
and yet, shackled to Dawn.

Twilight morphs into Dusk, summoning night,
as a canopy of twinkling stars shine.
And the moon imbues a phantom sun's light
with magic, where wishes and dreams entwine.

an ebony sea
a constellation of stars...
candles set adrift

Premium Member Tethered To My Heart

Reality's a harsh truth;
that dominates existence.
And I cannot escape it;
no matter how hard I try.

You got me to believe we'd
be together forever.
But your lies and betrayal
tore my naive heart apart.

Love's indomitable flame;
wasn't meant to be extinguished.
And its demise was painful;
fueling deep depression.

Fate spun a fickle fortune,
mixing threads of trust with doubt.
And yet, hope has the power
to resurrect dying dreams.

Happiness cannot stray far;
tightly tethered to my heart.
And there will come a day when
I'll believe in love again.

Tethered By Life

Tethered by life's boundless gyre;
doltish in the headlong plunge.
Swirling in its turbid mire;
mock demur feigns to expunge.

Inchoate thoughts swell pathos' rosters;
errant guides whose hack beguiles.
Pay scant regard to such impostors;
debar with glee their rueful smiles.

Then peerless grow your firm resolve;
abjure ego its tumescence.
Ascend the arc and thus evolve;
render glacial your senescence.

Else succumb as prisoner of your thought;
Fashioned into something you are not.

Premium Member Tethered To Night

The moon slowly ascends like a regal Queen
while skittish shadows all flee the scene
and scarlet skies bleed last light
as nippy winds bite
tethered to
night
drops of dew
soon start to alight
thirsty mosquitoes take flight
and where beauty and silence careen
the moon slowly ascends like a regal Queen.

Premium Member Tethered To The Sun

Sunbeams scamper amongst the tops of trees
where playful ebony shadows slip-slide.
And subject to the whim of every breeze:
they scurry to find new places to hide.

The ground is dappled with patches of light
shapeshifting into works of abstract art.
And watching them dance is a pure delight;
as Nature tugs on the strings of my heart.

The effect is a magical display
of shifting shadows, tethered to the sun.
And like in a choreographed ballet,
they twirl, swirl, and slip away one by one.

Shadow and light flicker in perfect sync;
on and off, in the time it takes to blink.

Premium Member Tethered Sails

I feel the tinge of a windblown face
And set my sails to open space
Leave behind my shadowed sorrow
To explore wind-fed days of tomorrow

I'll find direction from the wind
Let it guide and not rescind
It's pushing force that moves me on
To await the light of every dawn

And seek life's measure far beyond
These churning waves I sail upon
Horizon's thread I'm sure to reach
From tethered sails, I do beseech

There I'll find a life unspoiled
To be free, to be uncoiled
And feel the sun upon my chin
Always turn to face the blowing wind

Premium Member Tethered To My Happy

My inner child
That silly self
My mischievous one
The one, who tethers me to my happy

I languish in his joyfulness
He sprinkles stardust in my eyes
I laugh with his exuberance
He says what he thinks
His is the voice of my honesty
Sure, sometimes he gets me in trouble
Occasionally, bursting a bubble
Yet with him, my world is double

He knows how to have fun
I'm getting older but together we run
He sees no limits
So neither do I
He's the reason, I want to try
His imagination, helps me fly

So, I thank my inner child
My portal to happy, my source of wild
He is the very essence of me
The truer part, who sets me free
He does not think, he let's me be

So if you see, a glimmer in my eye
It's most likely, my little guy
He'd love to meet your inner child
The one who's happy, a little wild
Together they have games to play
Don't keep him or her
Locked away

Tethered to a moment, I won’t break free
or give a different answer when I’m asked
about the time most beautiful for me
because in rapture that one night I basked!

It was September. I’d turned seventeen.
Tethered to a moment, I won’t break free.
Not many things could make my heart careen.
Romance I’d always yearned for came to be!

His eyes, sweet chocolate, I always see
when I recall the gaze I dipped into.
Tethered to a moment, I won’t break free
from kisses - pure ambrosia through and through.

A time that magical cannot be gone.
I resurrect it with my poetry.
The boy was in my past, yet he lives on!
Tethered to a moment, I won’t break free.

Tethered to the wind

I want you,
not in a symphony of promises,
but in the raw rhythm of now,
each beat a fleeting note,
strumming on the strings of today.
Your smile? A wildfire against the dark,
brief but unforgettable,
scorching the edges of my calm.

I don’t love you, or maybe I don’t yet.
This isn’t a sonnet etched in stone,
but a freestyle verse,
imperfect, raw, and unapologetically real.
Around you, joy pools in moments,
sweet like honey slipping from a tilted jar,
messy, golden, impossible to catch.

I crave intimacy,
not the heavy kind forged for forever,
but a spark that ignites and dances wildly,
a streetlight blazing against the night,
brilliant, and when it fades,
it leaves no regrets.

Tomorrow is a phantom,
a shadow I refuse to chase.
I won’t pretend I can’t live without you,
that’s a lie I won’t tell myself.
I lived before you,
and if there’s an after you,
I will learn to live again.

If you find someone who feels like the sunrise,
I will step aside and let you shine.
But tonight,
be the fractured prism in my sky,
bending light into something magical,
something ours.

Let us be wind and flame,
meeting briefly,
dancing wildly,
until the world decides our time is done.
Loosely attached,
like two leaves on the same stream,
flowing together,
until the current pulls us apart.

No chains, no forever, no myths,
just this moment,
a flash of something beautiful,
here and now.

Tethered To a Moment

You keep me running around,
on this never ending merry go round.
The carousel stopped,
and I hopped off.
I began to get sick,
so I thought really quick.
One more time on the merry go round,
will help my stomach settle down.
I tell the conductor one more time,
he said, “that’s okay there is no line.”
So, I never hop off no matter how dizzy I get,
because once it stops,
I know I’ll get sick.
This isn’t healthy,
but that's okay.
Maybe one more time will take the pain away.
We’re going in circles,
just like you used to say.
One more time on the merry go round,
will make the pain go away.

Premium Member Tethered To a Dying Dream

How silent lies a lone ghost ship
that lists, tethered to its mooring
having run aground
inside a dying dream, now distant.

Unearthly selenium skies hang
mute, limp and discordant
absent of air, breathing death.

I drift alone in an ominous ocean
devoid of water
hovering in a vacuum of anonymity
absent of that ever essential
liquid of life.

I am inert, obscure and obtuse
languishing in a catatonic state.
A yawning expanse of emptiness
marks a melancholy existence
as if Mars happened
upon a forgotten corner
of the earth.

I feel lost, as I look up
into surreal clouds
congregating
in solemn penitence
watching as they move
upwards and downwards
at random intervals.

Morose are the disturbing dreams
that can send a vulnerable soul
into the abyss of madness.

How freeing it is to awaken
to the renewing gardens of sanity.

Tethered to a Moment

A-ha flickers in the momentum of birthing inspiration
New love or grief or tantrums of the soul tether the nascent moment,
Tied onto remembrance in the thrust of a second split,
Swaddled in swooping formal obsidian curves -
Punctuated by specks dotting exhales –
In ebony lines of crushed lamp black –
Define a whisper in contours captured
In structured pools of graphite toner
Bending eloquent articulation into elegance
And blinding revelations secured to real time
By boundaries of quill and ink
Protected from unrestrained madness outside the lines
Teeming to fling the new birthed unexplored essence into crypts
Of unending oblivion where arches restrain full spectrum hues,
Swallowed by the mischief of cyber chasms
Where guilty remnants shove blind mystery into
Unheard screaming abyss',
Preserved,
Sheltered by boundaries inside the interval’s signature
