Best Tendered Poems

Poetry For Poets: I Own This- Edition

Well hopefully you've read the last "Poetry for Poets", now here's the one I wanted to write, enjoy...

POETRY FOR POETS
(I own this- edition)

Poems
more organic than fertilizer
rooted in the **** of life
manure

Some grow wild
seeking their light
through a gnarled thicket
of images
and symbolism.
Ill watered
or sprayed with chemical defoliants
they strangle themselves,
few
managing to blossom.

Manicured
Poems thoughtfully precisely planted
to achieve optimum yield
banquet

			though occasionally
		poems require		to be forged
	beaten into shape
like a horse shoe
with a few holes
	accurately placed
		ensuring they		will be nailed
			to their purpose

Pruned
dead words and metaphors
selectively snipped away
stunning display

There are times when it’s best to live with your poetry
Cover yourself with its words until they stretch and become sloppery
For its comfort increases as the stanzas begin to fray
Patched elbows illuminating what you intend to say
And eventually you’ll have a poem to slip into by the fire
To savour with hot chocolate as it ignites your desire

Poems
more organic than fertilizer
flourish when tendered
with love

Premium Member The Price of Free Will

Medicine Hat Appaloosa
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember free will too has been gifted,
with freedom allied to fate's fickle choice.
Tendered words uttered still..now uplifted,
God provides each one a life and a voice.
Ere life ebbs and scrimshaw scrolled hands beckon,
find strength in Medicine Hat horse's paint.
Flesh prized and spirit bold, yet to reckon,
respectful head bowed, pray it isn't too late.
Of sarcasm's sharp sword, one can ill afford,
cursed hubris' price which is never repaid.
The cost of soul's vows torn in broken chord,
word's sting or solemn praised tapestry made.
To cheat one's own heart with standard-less staff,
turned now to stone, to write lone epitaph.
Poet's note: The Medicine Hat Appaloosa is the poem.
Pleading Heart
~
Thou art my pleading heart
Thy kiss my tendered dream
Neath moonlit crescents part
A float yon slumbered stream
Thy flesh of satin touch
As sweet as midnight stroll
Lest life to pass me by
A’ shimmer ‘pon my soul
Pure eyes of supple gaze
So deeply call my mind
To spring blessed feathered days
Lo’ promises to find
Soft lips a’ fall my own
As delicate a rose
Of heaven’s holy throne
O’er whispered breezes flows
My love, o’ take me so
Relieve my tortured fire
This pleading heart doth show
Tis thee my true desire
Premium Member Tethered To a Moment
With just one glance her enchanting smile won
Cadence of his heart crooning: she was the one
And fairy-tale of sweethearts had thus begun
Stealing stealthily the missives of alluring eyes
Gawking sundown on ebullient magenta skies
Welcoming newfound tempo passions bestow
In temple of his soul where halos of love glow.
Tethered to that moment strums song of yore
Serenading love, lauding memories sublime,
Extolling moment divine, firmly etched in time,
Never conquered since, nor tendered before,
Pulsing strings of hearts its rhythms now implore
Gilded autumns of fervor to forever blaze ardor
As melodies romantic soar, warbling evermore.
Years have traversed, yet, he treasures that smile
Eloquent in her style, as sensuous eyes beguile,
While tolling bells of fate blissful hymns chime:
Oh! how one sweet moment became a lifetime,
Neither shall it wither, nor fade from its prime;
This moment divine, now memorialized in time~
Tethered to it journeys, his blessed life sublime.
Someone Else's Handiwork
The quilt upon my bed was stitched
By someone I don’t know.
My blue ceramic fish was formed,
Most likely, by a pro.
Some watercolors on my wall
Were painted by a friend
I met on a vacation
(Such good luck I’d recommend).
A wrought-iron scene, a stained-glass moon,
A mobile made of metal
All grace my home and help my mood
Improve to finer fettle.
I wonder if the artists think
About the crafts surrendered,
If it was worth the trade-off
For the compensation tendered.
I’d like to think they’re satisfied
That what they have created
Is there displayed in someone’s house,
Their talents celebrated.
The Darkroom
Is it not enough that you’ve hung me beside
myself from your fraying rope - tendered by
graying wooden clips with rubber fingers?
Must we really soak on dry until we are sepia
toned under-developed photographs, left on fix?
Why is it you still feel the need to marinate
my every flexed tendon in formaldehyde?
Is it the slow bumping up against red glass
that turns you on; that you relish? Or simply
the come-hither thrill of the bottled hunt?
Watching our developing forms (and by ‘our’,
I mean me and myself - I left the party half
cocked and ready for more long ago) submerged
beneath the red tinge of shadow forms split at
the wrists - dividing one truth from the
next - your tapping, impatient, ready to dance
fingers drumming my convoluted tumbler to
halves; throwing tomatoes, cabbage and micro-
brewed beer bottles at my smiling face as it
develops, appearing as every God damn thing
you never could do; slowly, quickly emerging
hung                             on the next pin over.
O’ how you hate that photo!
The one where I’m smiling and you’re not.
The one where I know who I am, and you
don’t. The one where even though there are
two of me; there are, (at last count) 10,000 of
you. And if you could see your own face through
the wide V darkroom dusk looking back at
yourself, you would see that sometimes even
the best photographers get it wrong. Sometimes,
all there is, is shadow covering up the best parts,
leaving no room for light meters, fixer, or dull
graying clips clutching white Mickey Mouse fingers,
forcing the image still.
Gaia: Mother Earth
Rain sprung a leak from heaven,
falling, falling, gently falling
bathing an Osprey nest,
upon a tall mountain crest,
Mother Earth will guide this quest.
Her beauty surrounds the woodlands best.
Rainbow prisms ever glow,
lighting the stage that's set,
for a day forest winds blowing free,
ribbons of light and dark greens,
around winding shady crystal streams.
Bald eagle shrieks resounding,
 with delightful sounds of this kind,
Mother Earth will share in your dreams,
 Come now, alive inside her mind.
Mother Earth beheld a secret garden,
dressed in her finest sacred apparel.
She came into being as a Goddess,
brought forth in light from heaven,
pure love at her core evolves to heal,
while souls touch her essence so real.
A spirit palace; a marriage of hearts,
co-joined to share love's healing grace,
A word, a touch, a smile bestowed,
blossomed love buds betwixt as one place,
blessings tendered upon human petals,
scarred by wounds received over time
each gift of life brought here to cherish
beloved of the gardens divine
Tree of Life in Gaia's gardens midst
to those who find themselves love entwined
nurtured peace through her roots planted deep
no greater love has been known so divine
Mother Earth sows seeds as we sleep
Pond ripples flow in gentlest of wakes
Bearing graceful blessings borne of love,
Birds singing quietly until she awakes
Sacred flowers growing in gardens well kept
Bringing peace to all as Gaia Goddess slept
Song of Solomon: Queen of My Heart
Covered bridge sheltering frothy lagoon
Woven tapestry gilding each silted dune
Garnished threads over polished diadem doth croon
Fabricated ensemble breaching pristine medley, emitting swaggering tune
A treasured grove; each branch artfully hewn
A regal polish smoothly layered on a well-crafted spoon
Scented laces nestling in furrowed moon
Binding corset ballasting each milky balloon
Red velvet gown swaddling paps so roon
Silver, monogrammed broach cresting over satin plume
Golden necklace the antechamber doth groom
Lilac perfume from each tendered Liily doth fume
Plowing through the quilted morass so carefully strewn
O'er snowy plain with sculpting touches tenderly prune
Nurturing each crevice; in your fecund valley swoon
Watching in rapturous chorus each mound bloom
With fertile lips I pollinate each riveted loom
From each rendered nipple a sweet nectar I exhume
Premium Member Loved By You
I often wander from life's rules,
flounder thru issues days will spool.
At those times, you gentle my view.
I am blessed to be loved by you.
If I hide when morning arrives
renewed strength comes from your blue eyes.
Your presence stays my spirit's hue.
I am blessed to be loved by you.
I sometimes bruise when life turns tough,
void of humor and light mood fluff.
From your touch warm healings come through.
I am blessed to be loved by you.
Your heart tendered concern and care
gives our companionship sweet flare.
Just loving memories accrue.
I am blessed to be loved by you.
I pray to steer your life complete
as our love is a two way sweet.
Joy is life viewed as just we two.
I am blessed to be loved by you.
A Black Rose
When death and his friends walked by it,
 It simply smiled and sank a little into its soil.
When its fresh air started to pollute, like the water it sapped on,
It simply smiled and sank a little into its soil.
When it sees the dusk rises out of the ground,
It simply smiled and sank a little into its soil.
When the kids that knew of his presence, showered him with their blood,
It simply smiled and sank a little into its soil.
When a soft hand tendered to its ravaged petals,
When a sweet lip whispered comforts into its stems,
And
When its thorns were bathed in clear water,
It simply cried and grew a little towards the bright sun.
Premium Member Secluded Lover's Nest
Secluded Lovers Nest.
.
Alone as one in our secluded nest
Made of love to be forever together
Heart to heart and heaven blessed
Lost in the cozy moment
Giving and sharing awakening blissful kisses
And sweet tender caress
.
Eliciting a deep flow of warm emotions
And exquisite mounting sensations
Freedom to express what mere words cannot express
With teasing strokes and loving touches
Increasing tension to a satisfying liberation
.
Silver trails planted upon a sensitive yielding
Smooth receptive sensitive landscape
The secret garden tendered
As two bodies rive with pleasure
And weave in the midst of a firry lake
Assenting to a higher place
Only twin flames can venture
Few travel with the sweetest pain
Upon such a thrilling sensual adventure
.
The waves of hungered passion
Now as a placid lake
Warm embers still aglow
The lavish feast now satisfied
Wrapped up safe in each other's tender arms
Pecks and butterfly kisses
And the glazed look of love
In my lover's eyes
.
She gently nuzzles her lovely head upon my bare chest
I stroke her cascading fragrant tresses
With loving fingers of heartfelt tenderness
I tell her how much I love and cherish
The angel by my side
Two kindred souls and entwined hearts
Brought together by devine providence
My world my life my one and only faithful bride.
Fawning Meadow
Nature's, anesthetizing beauty held
tightly in escrow
'Til on tendered form its heavenly
charm can bestow
Fair maiden strides through
manicured meadow
In her lovely essence, the enchanted
flora doth wallow
Overhead, azure canvas paints a
regal halo
Her satin cheeks radiant in Helios's
afterglow
Beneath, green clover spreads its
downy pillow
Her dainty feet tenderly the svelte
blades furrow
Lilac strands their fragrant
essence strew
As her ebony locks in soothing
breeze flow
White, silken lillies fringe the
bristling undertow
Roon paps gild voluptuous, damsel's,
milky tallow
Twirling dandelions their feathery
dander billow
Maiden's silted bosom takes a
respite under fawning willow
Creamy buttercups in the noonday
heat their hearth's mellow
In their steamy shadow, frothy
maiden spreads her umbrella
Premium Member A Request--Value All Life
~~~~~~~~

The sick elephant, perished at sunset!
Headline news, tears, anger, outrage and scorn.
A worldwide sadness, her baby just born!
Monies were collected, protests in the streets.
Medallions with her picture worn,ah, hearts so torn!
                       ~~
A kitten walks the street alone, we save her!
We scream, "Where is humanity's soft heart?"
Organizations formed then, for feral cats.
We pour huge funds into shelters at once.

But whay of the unborn human, about to be
killed?
Sleeping, softly in their mother's warm womb?
Little fingers, sweet little toes, about to die?
Our hearts, souls, eyes, do we in denial close.

Millions upon millions, will indeed today, die.
Never to see sun, moon, stars or bluest sky.
Taken by methods too cruel to speak.
Angel babies killed in abortion mills.
The world weeps not a tear for human loss, still!

For the unborn, all, yes I will take a stand.
In a world that adores trees more than the
family of man.
A ghoulish thought, human life surrendered.
A baby is not a bad tooth to remove by any
Governments monies, freely tendered.

Sing not to me, that you love humanity!
Nor of world peace, when our own kind we kill.
Yes, aware man wants to this world control.
This world is not yours, it belongs to God.

What good, this verse, in a so very cold world?
Why! So you dare use fetal cells,I ask why?
To use them in a vaccine, you drool for?
Their cells floating in your selfish bloodstream?

We pen about the evils of truly great men?
We hum and talk to Muses, how very!!
We buried God, we loathe free nations.
Globalism only, downing, all the rest.
Then wonder, why all the worldly unrest?

Laughing our lives away, a great escape?
Reality, no, never on our plates!
Good, unborn people destroyed,oh how we do cheer.
Unethical, political thieves and snakes we adore.
As we quill, on God's sunny shores.

On Assignment

skirted, wind blown from afar
I was not to be late for the affair

bells struck midnight
and there were two left in in the square
twelve strokes to signal we were there

we circled right
looking for a place to disappear
tongues tendered to the herd
we kissed
my bones bent to your will

it was late
stars begged us to stay
the moon in her blushed
less than casual rose state
checking out as clouds ruffled by
we were high
and you, smokin'
like you always do

the time, the place, the memory
the face
fingers dancing as we knew the end
much more than the beginning

heartbeats pausing
pleasing, my ears
romance, encapsuled
in the singing
desire, a choir of one
and we won

thirty beats, pulsating
blood in-between the bludgeoning
a sense of belonging
longing for days to never come

nights slashing through the dark
butchering arms
grasping
charred, bodies
steam
whistling as she walks away
