harsh adversity

tulips in the snow
is there
certainty
anywhere?
perfection
or
beauty
beyond
measure?
who

who
can
stay
impartial?
parleying

Dreams are the essence of life
Life is void without dreams
Whatever life throws at you
Pursue your dreams with determination
Hold onto your dreams with ruthless tenacity
Hold onto your dreams no matter the challenges
Cause the road to success is not paved with gold
It is strewn with thorns and distractions
Overcoming challenges gives dreams their meaning
Happiness is an illusion
It can only become a reality
As you put your hands on the plough
And pursue your dreams without looking back
A tiny mottled maple leaf
appeared outside my window pane.
Its superficial veiny face
Clung wet glass precariously.
Its nemesis, the wind, blew strong
But yet the tiny thing held on.
Its struggle onset reverie
I saw self-similarities:
bygone years of bold contentions
underdog I need to mention;
but like this leaf I gave my all
I cared not where the chips might fall.
As this enlightenment gave way
The wind had whisked the leaf away.
ME LADY THE SPIDER
There was once an arachnid, a colorful spider,
Who climbed up and down a ladder,
Her name was “Me Lady”,
Whose affection for males was somewhat shady.
Spinning her web for her babies, no doubt,
Hundreds and thousands of eggs she lay,
Moving sideways, spinning in and out all day.
“Me Lady” spun the most awesome webs,
Like an ocean – a tide comes in, then ebbs,
The envy of all the spiders in the woods
Magnificent colors, long spindly legs,
She enjoyed displaying these goods.
Their pantry needed filling, “Me Lady” alert,
A fly no had no chance, “Me Lady”would divert
Herself from the sticky place in the web,
But ants, moths, caterpillars, and the like,
Doomed, being a mother needed tenacity,
And required loads of energetic capacity.
Naturally, her specialty and choice, a cobweb.
Out of thousands of eggs, maybe a 100 survived,
To go off into the world and follow mom’s rules,
Out-living thousands of siblings was not for fools.
Stronger
Deeper
Longer
Steeper
May I gain a stronger deeper heart,
Suffering through a longer steeper start.

Tenacity and Audacity
When day does start then has been through
What will it be that most men must do
To make sure his marriage becomes complete
So she thinks everything is oh, so sweet.
Each morning he does dust mop floor
See Seattle Seahawks game and the score
And back to man cave he will flitter
After cleaning up all of the cat liter.
Brings Christmas decorations down each stair
And every time as they will look out there
People at all of it have gazed and gazed
Each one of them ended up truly amazed.
His daily duties are complete and all done
And now realizes he is the only one
Who found this to be within his capacity
Thoroughly with audacity and much tenacity.

Confidence easily had
Is a matter of practice
Things that start out prickly bad
Can smooth the thorniest cactus.
Tenacious trial and error
Experience cannot be beat.
If you honestly care
To delve into a new feat.
Encourage yourself to try
And you will never be askance
Effort’s product will magnify
Tenacious person’s honest dance.
Confidence along with hard work
Is an amazing little perk.
The Bamboos grip on the green hill without hesitation,
Their roots penetrate into rocks with determination.
Remaining tenacious after having been battered by storm,
At all directions they can stand winds blowing in any form.

True grit likely as
not... is a plant that grows in
a hot parking lot
My mother loved me into wonderfulness
An odd child, too unusual for school.
I was sent home the first day, with a note.
I watched my mother’s face, for nuances.
A small wavering cheek dimple would have
Confirmed my most horrid fears.
I could tell by the whisperings of the day
The teacher did not want me there
Would my mother feel shame?
Would she call me names too?
Like the children had?
Arms enfolded me.
Relief.
She still loved me.
My mother, the one person who
Believed in me when I was feeling like
No one else did.
You my blessed son, are too smart to go there.
I stared into her brown doe eyes.
She had never been more convincing.
And I was a child who needed to believe.
She is the reason I persevered.
No other teacher could have taught me
Resiliency and tenacity like my mother did.
She, and she alone, convinced me of my
Brilliance.
No one else would have failed nine thousand and nine hundred and ninety-nine times and still tried one more time, right?
So in a way I must dedicate the electric light-bulb to my mother.
God bless you, Mother.
You are my hero!
Sometimes it helps
And sometimes it don’t
Occasionally it works
Though maybe it won’t
So onward you push
It’s error and trial
A little more effort
A little more smile
But this much is true
Before you ask why
You can’t say, “I quit”
If you didn’t really try
Give me more pressure;
Generate the gem in me
Just like a diamond.
A bustling presence doesn't infer inactivity.
Showing improvement with a crucial flurry.
Prance ecstasy embracing a harsh ignite.
Self-start binge; don't leave behind a Dwight.
With verve and enthusiasm and consistently in awe.
Work never finishes, and objectives won't ever overdraw
Poise unblemished, musings precise, cerebrum contriving.
Embrace morals and allow them to tackle directing.
Being significant, something to depend solely around.
It makes sense that progress is being found.
