Best Suspended Poems
Quote by: Melancholy Of Innocence
LOVE is the spark within the speck illuminated & suspended in a sunbeam.
A ray of sunbeam falls across her face as she plays piano
a warm sunlight caresses the keys and brings to life
memories of love that bloom like noon day sun
Suspended in time like a soft sonata lingering on the mind
sensual, sexy, like a silk chemise wafting in the wind
yesterday's story sits unsung, arias captured OH! my heart
Here in her forever she sings softly to no one in particular
habile as the sentinel that perches and then soars
the illumined face of an Angel, a speck a spark of LOVE
that no amount of silence can clothe....

drifting in and out
or was it the other way around?
floating away
instead of towards what made sense
both suspended in the air
with only recognition as their measurement
he wanted out
she wanted in
he pulled away
her wish was for something more meaningful
there they were
trapped in something
that held them captive
too afraid to make the first move
too afraid of what might happen
suspended
hanging onto promises
both of them have forgotten
with their feet halfway in the air
still drifting in and out
or was it the other way around?

It's cold over here
Where hearts pump icicles,
Decelerated from normal time wrinkles.
I sit here
Trying to unthaw my mind.
In order to wonder if I exist in time
I never succeed.
I am suspended.
A pig flew over,
And the fat lady sang.
I managed to press "Unpause"
On this game.
The superball sprang
And animated bounce
An energetic ocean
From a simply lifeless ounce.
But time must continue.
The speed must decrease.
And all the lil' sparks here have ceased.
The sloths here get tickets
And man are they slow.
I'd gladly leave
If I had somewhere to go.
When all else has ended,
I remain,
Suspended.

Sometimes when you try to give someone the world, you wind up giving too much.
Your head begins to swirl when their gone, because you crave their touch.
Your heart will break in two, and you feel like your world has ended.
When you've done all you can do, and it's no use.
Your life feels suspended.....

Rope around my neck,
I fall, waiting for blackness.
Bliss. Eternal sleep.

Once again a life suspended
to save a grounded fledgling.
Only now the chicklet
weighs more than me, indeed
weighs more than the whole nest!
A life deferred, indeed all dreams,
with less and less time
to be fulfilled.
Now's not the time to be all
desperate.
accept the weight for now, just
one more testing.
Gently push, without damaging.
How do you save your child when
he cares less about his life than,
you do?

The pulse of life is altered,
a dimension set apart
closed in behind streaming window panes.
Half of life falls away . . .
I wonder why it seemed consequential yesterday.
Suspended . . .
unshelved a world of joys duty pushes back,
sweet pleasures always whispering,
but out voiced by louder tongues:
books and music,
fragrant kitchen scents,
fireside soup suppers with soft voiced friends,
some decades or even centuries old.
Blessed refreshment rainy days bring to earth,
but miracles they perform for drought encrusted minds.

To have loved and lost
are a heaven and a hell;
and the place between
is their own purgatory,
a limbo of sorting out.

My mansion is white and splendid,
it is three stories and has red shingles;
so beautiful- in the sky suspended.
With flower boxes and colors blended,
and round windows on the many gables;
my mansion is white and splendid.
When I go there all sad things are mended,
in this dream just happiness twinkles;
so beautiful- in the sky suspended.
Just floating until my dream has ended,
in another realm in clouds it mingles;
my mansion is white and splendid.
I can let go of feelings pretended,
it is full of joy, light and love sprinkles;
so beautiful- in the sky suspended.
In this Shangri-La, I hear the angels,
there, I can shed my persona presented;
my mansion is white and splendid,
so beautiful- in the sky suspended.

He was standing there, like a painting by Raphael,
Above a parking garage, for show,
For all to see, behind a bay window,
A forgotten resident of our Daytona Beach Hotel.
And I stared up in awe and dismay,
Stunned, for *Ariadne, in her grand design
A spell in time had placed upon this piano divine;
And to my child I said: “Look! There’s Kay!”
Like you my old friend solitary he waits
Suspended, timeless, his noble frame
Caught behind the glass; but still a flame
His passion stoked, flooding the gates
Rusted closed. So through the corridors
In search we went, opening every door
Until his dark silent presence I glanced,
And on his battered keys a melody I chanced.
And he, rasping at first, soon his chords laid bare
And his soul released in the deepest of flair.
*Ariadne: my friend Kay associates ‘Ariane’ with a higher power or the hand of fate. (In Greek mythology, Ariadne is associated with mazes and labyrinths because she helped Theseus ‘conquer’ the labyrinth and kill the Minotaur).

Love and loss are a heaven and a hell;
a purgatory and limbo, a place
of sorting out: a place where lovers fell;
and drift into reflective, lonely space,
a realm that's not a lover's citadel,
but still a place where souls may yet embrace.

Flight 370 Things Suspended In Air
Fresh out of bed
In long disjunction with the day
With due reverence for the missing
Suspended in the air
All things held suspect
Something takes shape out there
But there's nothing there
We’re not quite sure
Nothing looks familiar
How did they get..... somewhere?
A woman then approaches
With every sound of softness
She told them to relax
With every confidence
This flight has ended in the air
It’s been suspended
It does not really matter
Things like facts
Let us gather more data though
We're good at that
They asked her why
Some things have no answer
We don’t know why
This conversation
Like the flight
Has ended
Somewhere in the sky

Poetic License Suspended
A string of poetic tales, about my life, my love and, my Lord...
Observations in scales, of mortal plight, once we chance, accord...
Imagination pales, and yet just might, share a glance, of more...
Propping powerful sails, from my short life, happenstance, galore!

The air is clear & crisp its feel
While foliage full, the trees are still
A breath indrawn my senses tell!
I dread December as the devil dreads hell.

SUSPENDED
this static quiet...
stagnantly
fills my space
silently
the air hangs
dense and muted
my fingers type
numb floating
appendages
rest slightly bent
motionless
hurt dripping off
the tips deferred
now adjourned
another tortured
soul
suspended
in
time
