Best Superfluous Poems
Given a small holiday bonus
could have been a treat for us;
Year end fees are due,
I guess it’s nothing new;
Oh so nice to have superfluous.
Yes, I am SO superfluous
Filled with lots of gooey gooness
Yummy words that drip so sweet
A hug and kiss for all I greet
It just may seem… over the top
My kind of sweetness just won’t stop
The sugar coated words I say
Will surely brighten night or day
So, please don’t think me insincere
Believe my every word you “hear”
I will not “say” what I don’t feel
These honey drops are, oh, so real
Kisses coupled with “I love You”
Come straight from my heart, ever true
Superfluous sure can be fine
If blessed to be a friend of mine
Eileen Manassian Ghali
Dripping words so sugary,
light and fluffy insincerity
Laying it on drizzling thick
with a butter knife tongue
Caramel verbal plums ... yum-yum
You got red cherry cheeks,
dispensing vanilla frosting tasty speech
Blowing out mint bubblicious charm
when you start cinnamon chewing your gums
Sweet Alabama apple pie breath,
full of caloric ingratiating death
Syrupy vowels not good for my financial health
Always got something
Cheshire cheesecake slick up your consonant sleeve,
a box of squiggly ... messy, gummy worm candy
A plate piled up high with excessive flattery,
so obvious,
anybody with Ray Charles eyes they can see
A bunch of chocolate covered marshmallow baloney,
suspicious cooking superfluous activity
All designed to thoroughly impress me,
and infiltrate my personal treasury
But I ain’t falling for the fake pastry bake,
zero doughnuts is what your pockets ate
All yours plans fell flat ... smack dab
in the middle of an upside down devil cake
So it seems to me that you do as you please,
as I run around pleasing you,
there's feelings indeed, I'm an "emotional trapeze",
don't bother conveying them through.
How dare I share senses of hurt that aren't rare,
while you have troubles of your own,
don't care to be aware for it's not curt to bare,
my soul to the soul it's outgrown.
I'm not the type that shares all the hype,
that goes on in my overfed brain,
but when I am ripe and you start to snipe,
I just know I'm back "there" again.
But even this heart knows when to start,
and most importantly when it must stop,
it is way smart as it's grown out of an art,
as it's portals casually window shop.
So it occurs to me it is time to be free,
you don't mean what you meant any more,
gave back your key not just metaphorically,
not sorry, just spent, such a bore.
I am not game to call out your name,
when I end up being embraced by another,
you don't have that fame you were rather tame,
in my head while my body would bother.
I won't wait a while and then reconcile,
it is much better that we keep our distance,
with hindsight you're vile I was just in denial,
good night, good bye and good riddance.
Crystal lungs
Near a heart of steel
Breathing in
Your toxic air
You're not medicine
But poison in my veins
Can't avoid yesterday by dreaming of tomorrow;
But there is no need to wallow
In the superfluous sorrow;
All those wrongful things . . .
All the righteous acts . . .
The summation of it all,
Is what we feel and do right now.
Horn Superfluous Haiku
Really always knew
Horn superfluous Haiku
Love each and still do
when you want to lead
will have to step up the speed
and all have agreed
there are those in need
to food stamp line did stampede
In car or on steed
quite a selection
of people for election
with no infection
poem to you will send
on warren we did depend
sorry for her end
to trump resistant
vote biden and persistent
also consistent
warren has much clout
knows what things are all about
sad she did drop out
whike on campaign trail
things surely would smoothly sail
face was looking pail
you should hear her sing
vivacious voice she did bring
such a pretty thing
to beautiful blond
religiously will respond
her I did abscond
Jim Horn
Holding hands, we embrace each other,
as our hearts and souls somehow entwine.
For when two lonely hearts fall in love;
moments are savored, like a fine wine.
The heart's eye sees only perfection;
love is an intoxicating drink.
And sipping the elixir of hope,
lovers do not care what others think.
Laughter and giggles enhance the mood,
ascribing white lies to vanities.
And heaven comes within mortal reach,
when lovers indulge in fantasies.
We were two half-souls searching for love,
when destiny brought us together.
And as all doubt was replaced by trust,
two soulmates were conjoined forever.
There is no me, and there is no you
when hearts combine; there is only us.
And as long as we have each other,
everything else is superfluous.
Your love for me has been far too smothering and superfluous.
Your light in my spiritual path was so luminous.
Now after all this time, I am left blinded by hubris.
