A Poodle and Apple Strudel

A Poodle and Apple Strudel

To popular belief, it all had been according
And wondered if we really could be affording
To buy what some called the John B. Sloop
Bottom of sails looked like a hula hoop

While walking around we also just found
That when being on John B. you are bound
To become stuck up and also possibly a pris
While you gaze at wild water and reminisce.

Liking to laugh a new habit now has become
And best part of pudding is a pleasant plum
Then through life as things all get tougher
From an illness, you will soon start to suffer

Cathy many have said is short for cathedral
And according to problems that are procedural
Process was becoming kind of quite inviting
I discovered best thing to do is be delighting

So finally forget all I said without fail
Go out on John B and around should sail
Be sure that you bring your pretty poodle
Who always enjoys eating some apple strudel.

Toaster Strudel Trochee

< Toaster Strudel - Trochee

                                        I just crave toaster strudel
                                        Piping hot pastry
                                        Cool icing so can doodle
                                        Kellogg's bakery

So get to popping me one
                                        Time to used noodle
Pop tarts boring just no fun
                                        Choose toaster strudel

Meter: 7/5/7/5
Rhyme Scheme: a/b/c/b or a/b/a/b

The meter is trochee, which means alternating stressed and unstressed beats in each line, with each line beginning and ending in a stressed syllable. This is a simple lyrical type little poem, so rhymes will be basic, nothing fancy. The poem itself should give a description of something of interest to the poet and often the meter lends itself to humor, much as a limerick does. There is not a set number of these quatrain type stanzas, but a typical 7/5 Trochee would consist of two quatrains, with the second stanza serving to tie up the idea presented in the first stanza.

German Apple Strudel

Plump shiny cooking apples
     Stewed –utter delight
  cinamon spice, smells so nice
     pastry butter kissed
         smothered in custard
              smack those lips
                    Yum.

Fed German Strudel To French Poodle

We knew that he had flipped his noodle;
He took all of his German Apple Strudel;
Had been delightful,
With each bite full;
Fried and then fed it to a French Poodle.

Let me see you top that one. You could
use cheeries for the topping to the
apple strudel. Should hear her when
she told Lou not to Tuttle or fiddle
with Dede Clark.

Mm, fresh firm pears so succulent and ripe
Oozing sweetened juices from nature's delight
Peeled cored and sliced into delectable quarters
This recipe is now under starting orders

To this mix I add some freshly halved strawberries
Finely diced rhubarb with a dash of merry sherry
Some butter, sugar with a splash of lime zest
The proof's in the pudding with my dessert quest

With a sprinkling of cinnamon the best from Saigon
I roll out the puff pastry, on and on and on
My ingredients are topped of with ground vanilla beans
Cooked by this Scottish King for his English Queen

The icing on the cake could be whipped or ice cream
On a hot afternoon with my blond, mm our dream

Stop! I found it in the bakery.
See! It's not a cookie or a cakery.
Sure, in a way, it's just like you -
sweet and pretty through and through.
So, I think I'll buy not one, but two -
spilling apples bursting with flavor,
something flaky we can savor.
