Traveling through the doorway in my heart
I emerge
Gently closing it
I place my palms on the worn hinges of time
I lay my ear near its surface
As I let my lips hover close
Grazing the wood with a gentle kiss
I turn and walk down a few steps
The mist ~ the moisture ~ the fragrance
Of a million greens
Grass so tall and lush
Beckoning me
The ancient pines and redwoods
Towering above me on both sides
Whispering their secrets
I make my way
Stopping to press my nose
Against their soft bark...inhaling
Tickling my face
Bringing me back...back in time
I breathe in love
I breathe out gratitude
Opening my eyes, I see you in the distance
As shadow puppets dance and frolic
Upon rugged steep rock walls
The inner cave glows
The smell of mesquite
Rising sparks of pain and happiness
Leap from the flames
Your quiet silhouette calls to me
“Come little one...come”
I crouch down timidly at first
It is dark and I feel alone
In my nakedness
I slither along smooth stones
My belly brushing their surface
I make my way close to you
The fire alive with its dancing shadows
Sitting in silence
I gently embrace your blanketed form
You are me as an old woman
You are my lover
You are my friend
You are all of humanity
I kiss your weathered cheek
Tasting salty tears
Embracing you allows me to let go
To fully surrender to the moment
Hoo-hoo-hooooo
Crackle
Owls above
The sky illuminated through
The exposed top of the cave
Surrounded by whisps of fables and folklore
We rotate and spin
Slowly rising upward
Higher and higher
As ashes in the night
Reaching the lip of the cave
We are greeted by moonlight
Cold crisp air
A burst of light
As I spread feathered wings
Gliding towards treetops
My heart opens
My eyes open
I am here
To laugh ~ to cry
To give ~ to receive
To rejoice
To break bread with others
To love
Another day
The sparkling spirit of your love,
merges with mine,
dwelling in passages of time, as
my heart sings symphonies of
ethereal lanterns,
beaming upon golden poppies,
while drifting across haloes of
glittering stardust.
Our divine souls flutter full circle,
when light meets dark;
a sacred union amidst
cherry blossom petals,
swirling in a helix of
devoted scintillation,
towards the sanctuary of
our blooming dedication.
This faith in you
is my heavenly glow,
a paradise of hopes and dreams,
swaying to your deific verve—
the gilded moon my spotlight, as
celestial lullabies serenade
this blissful twilight,
sheltered in your cherubic love.
Feeling of spring,
Soul in harmony
Cloudiness behind me
Blue sky my destiny;
Heart of Roses,
Grace adding melodies
Deep silence leaving me
Soft songs my symphony;
Whisper of Love,
Smiles from Eternity
Happiness reaching me
Beauty and Serenity.
Some choose religion as their sacred home for worship and prayer
others choose spirituality, "it seats the noumenon of their soul "
From very young I was introduced to religion, mom kept a chapel in the house
we were taught to pray the rosary and be obedient according to bible laws
I had a statue of Mary that I kept on my dresser and from a young age
she spoke to me and encouraged me to live despite the pain I was experiencing at such a young age...
Later in life when I reached my thirties I went through a crisis,
during the darkest nights of my soul I found the philosophy of Buddhism
both comforting and altruistic to my nature.
I learned from monks how to go within
Today at the age of sixty two I realize that both were gifts
One taught me discipline and introduced me to Mystical experiences
the other helped to re-discover the child within
and heal the broken parts of me ...
Today I work as a healer and I do my part to help others heal
It is all about love and compassion and how we choose to express our
FAITH
Religion and Spirituality, I believe I was blessed to be able to
embrace both equally without feeling that one threatened the other.

Being in the NOW
This is a simple secret of happiness. It is so simple, that one may wonder, “How something like ‘Being in the NOW’ can guarantee eternal happiness?” But it can. It is a sure way of living with peace and joy.
It’s a big challenge
While it seems so simple, being in the NOW is a big challenge. We are slaves of our mind and we rarely achieve this state of being in the NOW. The fault is not ours. The fault is that of our mind. Before we know it, it slips into a thought of the past. Gone, our NOW is kidnapped! By the time we catch the kidnapper, the mind, and bring it to the table, it gently jumps into the future. It hijacks our life to a new destination. Yes, it holds us to ransom, and the biggest problem – we don’t even know it. It is a big challenge to be in the NOW. But if we can, we can be assured of peace and happiness.
The NOW is peaceful and blissful
Just for now, focus on this moment. Breathe some fresh air, as you count your blessings. Just look through your beautiful eyes and enjoy the nature you see. Stop and hear some amazing music. Don’t think. Stop your mind from drifting away. Just be in the NOW and do what you love to do. Maybe it is making love, but don’t let your mind think of how your heart broke when you made love last year.
Being in the NOW
Just enjoy the present moment. If you prefer, just sink your teeth into your favourite fruit and enjoy the moment. For you, it may be just playing the piano. Whatever makes your moment blissful, just for now, do that. You will find so much joy and peace.
Why lose this moment?
When the NOW can be so beautiful, why lose it? It is sad that we don’t even realize that we are losing moments, moment by moment. The NOW is ours, but somebody robs it and the NOW is gone. We let our NOW get destroyed. Not just that, instead of being happy and peaceful in the NOW, we permit our NOW to be filled with misery and sorrow. What a shame! We must resolve not to lose this moment. This moment belongs to us, it is ours. It is our biggest treasure. It is this moment and the next and the next that actually constructs our life. Moments create days, days create weeks, weeks create months, months create years and all of these create our life. If we lose the moment, we lose life, a life that was meant to be peaceful and joyous.
Yet again the door is being knocked
For ages it’s been closed
Who is there?
The Sun looks down
Breeze Halts!
Tulips raise their heads
But the Cascade___still singing like an indifferent Bee
Knock___ knock___ Knock!
How persistent the knocking is!!
But who is there?
Its light from the peepholes
Enlightens the valley
Fills the Tulips with Joy
Old Cider tree opens its eyes
Sheds away with one jerk of its head
All the dead leaves
Pale, sick and dried
Concealing for a while
Image of the orange sitting sun in the cascade!
At once, Gigantic Mountain roars in panic,
The sun closes its eyes,
Breeze hides away in a dark cave,
Tulips are now harming themselves in despair,
For the light is fading
I can hear sound of the feet going away
There is but No more knocking…
It’s dark now!
Tiny little moon is waiting for the stars to shine
The valley is silent
But the cascade and distant wolves
And somewhere far behind the Forbidden Forest
The door is still closed…
Wishes, dreams, hopes, joys, ideas and loves
Do not waste them or scoff them or throw them away
Allow them to find a safe place in your heart for an instrumental reason.
Revere them, listen to them, appreciate and respect them by nurturing them.
Believe in them as you believe in the changing seasons,
Believe in them as you believe in the goodness of children.
Hold your hopes and dreams in the forefront of your determinations so you
Can live the most fulfilling life plan you could ever envision to live on earth
Believe with child-like faith that you will do and be and have what you seek.
Let your, dreams, hopes, joys and loves work their magic while you slumber.
The joys and delights your soul craves to feel spiritually complete are recognized instantly and happily as absolute truth by your soul-mind.
Your most sacred task on earth is to listen to your heart.
Believe in your hopes, dreams, and goals. When you honor them, they will make you feel spiritually whole, loved, and at peace with yourself and others.
The ability to honor yourself, your ideas, and your dreams
will lead you toward that mystical magical nirvana path of love and peace.
All is within your grasp, if you listen to your heart and believe.
Wishes, dreams, hopes, joys, ideas and loves.
God brings them to you.
Your only task is to believe.
Honor your heart.
Believe.
If religion is seen as
The wire that connects the soul with
The divine
Then
Spirituality is the electricity that
Passes through for the dialogue to
Commence!

How many times do we see something so quickly, a reflection,
or eyes, or something,
in a window or a mirror?
Just a glimpse, really, barely even a glimpse.
A glit of something.
A gl
A g
How many times do we keep silent,
Unsure of how others would take it
That we are not alone right now?
That there is something else here,
Something that came by in a
Brief hush to say hello?
Something that we saw
In just a little teeny
Tiny bit of a see?
How many times do we keep this truth
Locked safely inside, worse, talk ourselves out
Of what we have seen?
When spirit or faeries, or nymphs or
Elves, or something more or something
Less shows herself, you are being honored,
Revered, loved.
Do not talk yourself out of the experience
Given to you.
To do so is to dishonor the one who
Loved you enough to show herself.
Amber skies highlight the trees
and upon Gaia’s breast
a blanket of newly fallen crystals
spin the light rays into
sapphire dreams.
Among the spectral sentinels,
lay the road home;
an alluring glow of harmony
calls to me and I
answer with my soul.

A STRAND (1054) Poetry Contest
Brian Strand
Standing in the library of lives.
Trying to decide which one to learn from.
Picking up each book, reading the lines that have yet to be.
This life lies, this life hides, this one dies.
Which one is brought out of its slump?
Which life needs careful care?
This life cries, this life tries, this one looked me in my eyes.
Is this the life needing to roam?
Which ones has a home?
This life feels, this life heals, this one is real.
Making the decision that this life will be me.
“Welcome home!” I hear echoing off the wooden rails of the brand new cradle.
Rhyme: AABB
Rhythm: Trochaic tetrameter. i.e.,
Each line as: BAH-bah BAH-bah BAH-bah BAH-bah
1 “Hi, Corona, thy name means crown.
But all thy deeds in pain us drown.
Many losing jobs, homes and hope,
Are not sure how they now will cope.
2 For months schools and colleges closed,
For us many problems have posed.
Online class is not fun, my friend.
Good if soon it comes to an end.
3 Deaths one million by September.
Scary number to remember!
Why hast thou become a killer?
Please, leave us, mad graveyard filler!”
4 “I am only a messenger.
Neither killer, nor avenger.
Many see me as an evil.
But the wise will see my goodwill.
5 God, your great and loving Father,
Sees you drifting from Him farther.
Fun and entertainment centered,
You are now much conscience blunted.
6 Money you chase; but not wisdom,
Depth in spirit, or God’s Kingdom.
With your science and tech power,
You think you're a mighty tower.
7 God sent me to help you to see
Powerless how you are. Hence flee
From all your sins. Follow God’s way.
Then I'll fly away, as you say.”

Twilight Of Spirituality
The world was dark
Before the Islam
Prophet after prophet came to the world
But the glory was very short
The twilight of spirituality had never stayed so long
They worshiped in wrong way
It was the time when truth was lost and there was no peace
No mercy on living beings
Then the finest creation came to the world
Last prophet of Allah, Mohammad (PBUH)
It was a night
Moon was shining bright
Then permanent twilight of spirituality begun
When the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was nearly forty
He started the meditation
He was a man who made a transition
Our Prophet showed so much dedication
Revealed to him the book named Quran
The holy shades of Allah’s Noor spread everywhere
The messages of Allah through his messenger
Blossomed like flowers of spring
This twilight of spirituality
Calm and peaceful like gentle breeze
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was a person who never uttered a lie
He was recognized as a truthful man
His appearance was like Allah’s Noor
His beauty was like shining stars
He taught us the things we ought to do
He taught us that Allah are one
Allah have neither a daughter nor son
He taught us to be good to our mother and father
He taught us Paradise lies under the feet of our mother
He taught us our appearance, family, mission in this life
He taught us how to perform Salah
He taught us how to give Zakath
He taught us different kinds of Jahad
He taught us Hajj, Honor, Truth, Love, Peace,
Humanity, Sympathy, care and so on……
With most excellent mind………
He taught us justice and understanding of mankind
He taught us human brotherhood and humanity
He was hurt to see bloodshed in the society
He possessed the knowledge which was a cure
The disease of ignorance, arrogance and many more
He (Last Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)) had broken all falsehood and evil way
He was the beloved Prophet of Allah
Through Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) Allah brought……..
Everlasting twilight of spirituality to this world.

My God is bigger than me
or am I my God ?
Is God me ?
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
The chant of purity
The cleansing my soul
The freeing my heart
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
I light a candle for an offering
And bow my head in prayer
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
I strike another match
Light the stick of incense in my hand
And take one deep breath
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
Most often though I prefer to burn some sage
And imitate my native ancestors
By cleansing body heart and soul
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
Life is at its utmost best
When I close my eyes and hover
Midway between heaven and earth
Leaving behind a mundane world
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
The final words I want to utter
As life departs my lips
