Best Song Uplifting Poems

Premium Member Sleep My Lovely Lady, Pd

Sleep my lovely baby/PD/lady
Although I am so far away
Listen to the sweet song I sing
Feel in your heart I’m not leaving

Soft wind cuddles you in my arms of love
My warm embrace never makes you sad
Before you close your diamond eyes
Make a wish I am with you tonight

All dreams that you dream here or afar
Will be answered by those bright stars
As the moon smiles sweetly in your sight
Giving an assurance that you’ll be alright

Sleep my lovely baby/ PD/lady
Sweet lullaby I sing as I fervently pray
May God keep you safe while I’m away
In this world you’re so special in His way

Oct. 25,2012

This can be sung in a tune of a lullaby song which my teacher had taught me when I was still in Grade 4, I remember more vividly but not exactly the tune and the title and lyrics not anymore.

Raindrops

Raindrops
are like my thoughts
falling down into my mind
sending goose bumps down
my spine

Their cool aftermath
cleanses me of my thoughts
of fear and uncertainty
about what tomorrows
pain may bring

They make me feel,
wet with creativity
drenched in my optimistic
illumination. glistening
raindrops, my thoughts
leave paths of pleasurable
distress, and hope of success
which road, less traveled
may be the best

Forget an umbrella
when these raindrops
arrive, I walk outside
arms open wide

Ready to Receive
whatever
the mind storm may bring
because raindrops are
as my thoughts, falling
down into my mind
sending shivers down
my spine

My brain, yearns
for the rain, to wash away
the pain, tomorrows worry
does bring
One special drop
could speed up life's clock
to the time
I can handle my own
and not dwell inside my controllers
home

For raindrops are,
like my thoughts
falling down into my mind
sending goose bumps
down my spine

I Am Touching the Sky

Tingles
    down my spine
for me it’s nearly time
my very first performance
in the Parkinson’s choir

Practising the songs
    morning
        noon
            and night
memorising lyrics
ready for tonight
but now my mind is blank
don’t even know my name
     oh golly ~ oh gosh
will they ever want me back again

The music it begins
and the soloist she sings
awaiting for our cue
before we can begin
Our voices sing in harmony
blend beautifully as one
    uplifting ~ euphoric
a joyous sound we make
I am reaching new heights
as my heart starts to race
adrenaline is rising
    I am touching the sky...

Lyrics so poignant
bring tears to my eyes
    voices
        rise to a crescendo
    jubilation
        can't be disguised

Audience is roaring
with rapturous applause
    I am wrecked
        I am crying
            I am smiling
                I'm on fire

    And my soul…
        well really ~ truly
it could not get any higher

This was such an uplifting experience for me and as soon as I arrived home I had to express my utter joy and euphoria felt during and after our performance otherwise I would have burst! It is without doubt one of my favourite poems for it came from deep within my soul and I truly was "Touching the Sky"...

Premium Member My Heart Sings

Little things in life are best of all,
As watching autumn leaves, snowflakes fall,
Or reading of Cinderella at the ball,
Or other legends that grew so tall-
My heart sings when robins call!

Church bells chime on Sunday morn;
In it, our hopes are born.
Who sought with variety to adorn,
Bird and bush and those yet unborn?
My heart sings because I'm never forlorn.

When Alice grew up, she touched the sky,
Drawn to White Rabbit, I don't know why.
If you wan't to question miracles, never try.
I just love to watch the bluebirds fly.
My heart sings, for God is nigh.

His love's all I ever needed.
Without it, I've not succeeded.
All my sins could not have fled,
But for The Man who healed the sick and raised the dead.
I rejoice for what He did and said.

Each moment, each ray of sun, He planned.
Nature is tended by God's loving hand.
Spread His word all over the land,
Live in eternal love so grand,
My heart sings of flowers in the sand.

Life and love are our destiny,
With Him, we must never disagree,
For dwellers of His days are we.
Ever watchful, Father, you call to me.
My heart sings to thee!

This poem was written by me during the coffee hour after church one Sunday.

Never Told You

Tired of talking
‘bout weather
Other trivial things

Tired of talking
‘bout food
The price of tangerines

You may outlive
This aging man
Before I go
Please understand

Never told you how
I love you
When I held you
In the dark

Never told you how
I love you
I was never
Very smart

I never told you how
I love you
When I kissed your
Baby face

Never told you how
I love you
And I pray it’s
Not too late

I would tell you,
“That’s what men do…manly men don’t say, ‘I love you’”
That was my alibi
But what men do should be corrected
What men do can’t be accepted
If it makes your woman cry

Tired of talking
‘bout scandals
Rumors of the day

Tired of talking
‘bout old mistakes
Who deserves the blame?

The Winter of our lives
Is drawing near
Let’s change it to Spring
From year to year

Now I’m telling you
I love you
Though the words are coming late

I’m telling you
I love you
And it feels so good to say

I’ll love you in the morning
Love you through the night
I will love you through the tears
And all the tragedies of life

I’ll stay with you forever
Love you every day
Love you, love you, love you
It feels so good to say

Love you, love you, love you, baby

Feels so good to say…..

This Is About You

When you have downfall on your mind chaos is all a mind can find, its time to change all the things you had held so deep inside, they cause rage, your trapped in while your caught up in the cage of life an easy life with out strife, no more pain or struggle inside a bubble and you want to make it burst, but first things first you know the times that come will be the worst, because its change you want, and you will taunt the ones who set the curse. They say if you want to change a little then its your choice, but if you want to change a lot they must first hear your voice, loud enough for all to hear, listen and all of the problems soon disappear, just know that the world can be a bleak one and people dont always listen so you cannot only speak once, so when the end is near you can look back at the goodtimes throughout all the years think about all the times and cheer, and thank god you lived this long and your still here. Be remembered only for the words you spoke, for you do not want to be invisioned inside a cloud of smoke, watch as they listen when you start to feel the choke on the thoughts about your life,a bad life, a black life, envoloped in fear you were hoping that the man would hear, and maybe take a listen, to diamonds in your mind as you watch them glisten. finally move to a position, and open your ears and let your mind be clear, and hear the wisdom spoken from the person on the otherside of the mirror, society sobriety with out a clue just sit and ponder at the deepest thoughts that are revealed in you...

Premium Member The Poet Inside

All feels right with the world today,
so your inner child wants to play.
And you start by laughing out loud,
feeling as airy as a cloud.

A rhythmic vibe excites the air,
a baritone beat pulses there.
And you can feel it in your bones,
a cacophony of base tones.

Lyrics audition in your mind;
where words and music are combined.
And you want to shout out in glee,
happy to be alive and free.

The poet within you breaks out,
bandying witty words about.
And your muse starts strumming along,
spinning your words into a song.

My Midnight Grace

As I lay me
down to sleep
I pray the lord
my soul to take
if I shall die
before I wake
please watch me God
all through the night
and wake me and my loved
ones
at morning light
please help me
become successful
with the endeavors I seek
please send me a soul mate
in which I can keep
everlasting love
passionate heat
please grant me the serenity
to know right from wrong
and be able to lead
by example
strive to overcome
any downfall
please keep my spirit strong
through the issues
that toil in my soul
I aspire for diamonds in life lord
and all around me
I see coal
I aspire to turn things around
for I feel my wishes have fallen
upon deaf ground
my heart has no voice
they struggle to hear my sound
I pray to be taken
away from my daily
battles, that humble
although compared to others
in the world
its not much trouble
to me, I feel
my spirit is caged
and yearns to be free
King of all Kings
in your image, you
made me
you already know
each single step
my individual thought
you divinely bound me
in mothers womb
my existence you sought
bless me with the
chance to be
the person in which
you hoped for me
to soar like an eagle
dipping my talons of success
in life's sea
grant me an optimistic attitude
for that is the key
Amen to Thee

We Raise Them Up

Today we sing
great joy we bring
To those sweet souls
words long forgotten

For just a while we take them
to a peaceful magical place
          a place they knew
                 a place they loved
a place to put smiles on their face

Even those who do not speak whose memories faded long ago
They’ll sing along inside their heads the words they used to know
And as the music starts to play deep inside a memory stirs
As slowly they will rock and hum before the words begin to come
And by the time we reach page two they sing along with me and you

‘Blue Moon’ ~ we sing ~ oh how they swoon
   ‘Delilah’ ~ ‘Lean on Me’
‘Sweet Caroline' ~ they start to move it really gets them in the groove

We sing with gusto they smile with joy
As memories return when girl meets boy
Our last rendition our final song
Full of joie de vivre the choir and me

We start to sing ‘You Raise Me Up’
I start to cry ~ I don’t know why it always makes me cry…
We raise the roof our souls entwine they almost touch the sky
Our spirits smile with exultation to cheers ~ applause ~ a celebration

For today we really made their day and they have made ours too
Monies sent to Parkinson’s UK we pray a cure is found one day

We bid them farewell ~ We wave them goodbye
I'm so blessed to be part of this choir
It is food for my heart each time I take part
With lovely friends who like me have “P”

Singing together in our Parkinson’s choir
I feel truly alive ~ I feel almost on fire…

Written 12th February 2020

I wrote this today after a performance by our Parkinson’s Choir, where we entertained some delightful folk who are living out their final days within a care home. It was truly inspirational…

If You Only Knew

If you only knew how i felt about you
You wouldn't treat me like you do
If you love me like you say
Why do we get to arguing everyday
I guess thats the way love goes
No one ever really knows
If you want me,take me
It's the only way you'll get me maybe
I have a lot of things on my mind
But you seem to have me in a bind
That doesn't mean you have me on lock
That just means no one can block
The love i have for you is power
It just don't come and go in a hour
You got some really good i guess you think you do
But only if you knew

It's Time To Sleep

I am sleeping
I am dreaming

In the world Far away

I am hoping
I am dying

But I could live another day

I am sleeping
Soundly
Please
Don't disturb me

I am sleeping
Peacefully
Please
Stay away from me

I am sleeping
I am hoping
I am dreaming

That I could be free...

Twirl the World

Back in the mind of times
See it for what I find
 Twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world
I'm bringing back the old days
 Seeing these brutal type ways
 Twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world

 I can see my future
 Standing alive
 Walking amongst deadly ways
 And yet I still thrive
 My message is very clear
 From beginning to end
 Enemies and foes amongst me
 Yet who is my friend
God told me not to worry
 In time I will tell
All that you need to know
 To do things well
 The key is very simple
Nothing in life comes for free
 Determination is what I find
 In this mystery
I have got my head in the clouds
So time will not pass me by
 Wondering what I need
But if I would only try
Where I am going from here
 Nobody really knows
I guess I will try to keep it simple
 In my next tomorrow

Back in the mind of times
See it for what I find
 Twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world
I am bringing back the old days
 Seeing these brutal type ways
 Twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world

I am standing in the midst of a sea clear, bright, and blue
 I am looking for somebody
But I do not know who
I need answers to solve daily problems
So I go to the man
 Who keeps the world revolving
 If I am in Him
 And He is in me
 A crucial door just opened
 So now I can see
I am on the outside and still looking in
Praying for answers daily in this battle I win
The war will be over soon
But I will still enjoy time of peace
 Knowing it starts within me
To keep my mind at ease
So go on and put the globe down
On my finger let it spin
And that is the very message
 That I have to send
 So that everyone will know
 Who is in control
 As the story unfolds
 In the hand God holds

Back in the mind of times
See it for what I find
 Twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world
I am bringing back the old days
 Seeing these brutal type ways
 Twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world
 I can twirl the world
While it spins I can twirl the world

I Like Your Love

I like your love
It's pure, it's innocent
and I don't think I've seen this before

You replenish my reserves before it's necessary
you lift my wings up and
make me superior to my adversary
Creatively providing the exact amount of
what I need to go another day
I like your love
and for as long as you'll have me I'll stay

You make me comfortable in my space
What she share cannot be replaced
with any other type of love
be it artificial or tainted or lustfully blatant
Those illusions don't exist because
we found this love and we claimed it

I cherish those nights when I scratch your head
When you sit between my thighs and I twist your dreads
We become an us that is so pure
that the spring waters question the purity of it's source
I like your love - it's a divine force
