Best Sneakers Poems
two sneakers frayed jeans sweatshirt with hood
thrown overnight on the floor
waiting lazily just for
another chance at glory
and story
time fame
They're old, they're ugly, they're falling apart.
Had them forever, they're part of my heart.
They're comfy and old
And to me, pure gold
And if you throw them out, a fight WILL start.
With soft hushed slip-steps
They creep into my being
My sleepy mind preps
For all the things I’m seeing
They are the sleep sneakers
That invade in the night
Restlessness seekers
That dance without the light
The tales of dreary dreams
Show terror, fear or love
But Sleep sneakers seem
To form fit like a glove
There is no themed story
The meanings are unclear
There’s doubt without glory
Just a gnawing fear
Tonight there in my mind
As I settle in my bed
Those sleep sneakers may find
Dreams hidden in my head

ABANDONED SNEAKERS IN THE STREETS
As we walked watchfully along the way,
a pair of sneakers lay silently in the streets;
abandoned by flight or neglect. Their soles
have lost their occupant: gone to who knows where.
We cannot know the life they once shared;
for there are no footprints in the asphalt to trace
the path of their beginning nor the lonely journey's end;
neither is there a catalogue of exciting events experienced.
We will never know the lord and master
from whom they have been emancipated
to be left here only with the odor of memory:
an acquired anti-aromatic epitaph.
Swiftly strolling silently onward, we pondered
the sneakers’ seduced soul---rather than their sole.
One day this too, will be the fate of our shoes:
abandoned and left only with an acquired
anti-aromatic odor of memory.
Stop Look Listen!
This Emergency is Dire
I've Perched myself on a Telephone Wire
Crowds have gathered below
I'm starting to Perspire
I do not want Money or to Be known as Sire
All I Ask to soothe my Psyche
Is a simple pair of sneakers with a swoosh
And the letters spelled N-I-K-E
My new sneakers were pure white,
And the laces were pink neon,
On the inside it was airy,
But on the outside they were strong,
I wore my sneakers everywhere,
To school and to the park,
And then I noticed something,
My sneakers were getting dark!
So I'm back to my old sneakers'
With cement on one side,
The laces were loose,
One time I tripped and almost died!
I think I should go barefoot instead of the ones that I worn out,
If that does not happen...
I think I'll wear a pout!

When I was very young a little boy of five,
I had a pair of sneakers that made me feel alive.
They were black with white soles,
discolored and had several holes.
They took me wherever I wanted to go,
in outer space, a pirate ship or a mountain covered in snow.
I did not have much in those day but I would not know,
because my magic sneakers always had me on the go.

When I started to jog
Back in ‘75
(When so many of you
Weren’t even alive)
The choices of shoes
You would wear on a run,
For a woman, at least,
Made the shopping no fun.
Just Adidas and Brooks,
And with limited styles,
Were the options to wear
As I chalked up the miles.
Then came Reebok, but still,
All the pickings were slim,
So you’d see the same shoes
On the streets or the gym.
But that isn’t the case
Anymore, as you know.
The selection has managed
To crazily grow.
As I sit here and marvel
At sneaker-clad feet,
I will rarely, if ever,
Detect a repeat.
The sky is light
The moon is brighter
The paths are clearer
The fastest legs ply
Abonyi village stands in silence
To wails of frogs and flies
Only the stubborn child cries
To the ‘chu-ko chu-ko’ sounds of beds
The day has been bade well
The gongs of my heart struck
Awakened!
The earliest crow heard
The windows of the eyes,
Still fixed
The doors of the ears,
Widely left ajar
Foregoing the croaks in a yard
Awaiting the tiptoes of a mile
But to-dawn
The tiptoes of the sneaker,
Has faded
Drowning with it
The whispering escort
My door is barren
Refusing to imitate the dawn’s before
Where the tiptoes of the sneaker;
Careful to avoid the distract of the roosters
The gentle struck on a door
And the soft whispers of a lover
Tickles the ears of an expectant
Aw! The spell of poverty
Striking the young of Abonyi village
Has compelled the sneaker, my lover
Into the big mouth of no-man’s-land
In search of a better tomorrow
The night still glows cold
Longer than ever told
With loneliness,
Striking the note of the good times
Once spent together
When the wind blows
When the wind blows, the lighting strikes, when heavy rain comes,I know you will be there.
There I was in my birthday suit during a crowd of people robbed of all my belongings, but you were there with me, all I had was you on my feet.
In you they saw no value, they saw no quality only quantity.
You are my favourite pair of sneakers.
I walk in you, I run in you,I play in you but most of all I trust in you.
I give you access to all my assets because you give your all to me
When they look at you they see an old rag that has to be thrown away, they see stitches on the sides of your sole and they think you are useless
They don't know the feeling of being loved with no limits, the feeling of feeling protected and safe.
You are my best pair of shoes
They can take all from me,but I beg them not to take you and definitely not my poetry
You are my strength
You are my smilekeepr
You are my soul lifter
You are my poetry
You are my favourite pair of shoes.

Broke my running shoes,
Ruined my day to be honest,
Now I gotta go down to the shoe store and listen to some cretin tell me what shoes I should be wearing,
As I arrived, a young man approached me and immediately starts dribbling on about the weight of each shoe,
"Midsole foams on this Nike now make a plush ride possible without adding much heft to the shoe" he says with excitement in his eyes,
"Just give me something that fits my foot and take my money" I think to myself as I nod politely,
I ended up leaving with three new pairs of sneakers,
Cost me $600
Sneakers are shoes primarily designed
For sports from one event to another;
But which are now also widely used by
Many a person for everyday wear.
Sneakers are a footwear type, sort or kind
With a flexible sole made of rubber;
And an upper part made of synthetic
Objects or animal skin or leather.
The rubber soles of sneakers truly make
Very little noise while one is walking;
These comfortable shoes and fine footwear
Can also be used for joyful jogging.
Sneakers are versatile and perform well
In gym's each and every activity;
They surely offer basic cushioning,
Steadiness and firm durability.
They work with literally everything
In bright colors, neutral tones, jeans, trousers;
The suit and any outfit look great with
A great pair of beautiful white sneakers.
Nike sneakers are the best
They are better than the rest
Beautiful colors
Sexy water-colors
Dressed up with fly sneakers, you have zest
Let’s go against the grain, break the rules, and make forever possible again
A classic chic fashion without limits, we set the bar for relationship goals and plan on continuing to go far
What is better than comfort that holds you and is not just there for support
What is better than being in love with your partner in crime
Living the American dream trying to make a dime
I already have mine and could not be happier with everything that makes her you
Dimples in your cheeks I cannot not lie is one of my favorite attributes
Like teaching our son a good bow tie will always beat a good suit
p.s. yes we could dress up with fancy pants and shoes but why not dress up and wear our sneakers instead…
I have a pair of sneakers;
They are holey on one side and ripped on the other.
These sneakers are so comfortable that I think my feet found a new home.
My sneakers have seen many places.
They have stepped on land in 32 states.
They have been to 2 countries.
They were there the night my gramps passed away.
We put down some miles that day.
They have seen me cry, and fall flat on my face.
My sneakers have seen my accomplishments and my failures.
My sneakers are the reason why I can dream.
They are the reason that I have a destiny.
I am lost now you see for my sneakers wore out on me.
How do I just toss my sneakers aside?
They have been my best friends a good portion of my life.
So now it is time to throw them away.
As I continue down this mysterious journey today
I will have a new friend walking beside me instead.
As I say good bye to my old worn out sneakers.
