Ten Years Had Raced Into Oblivion's Cup
Second Poets Tribute Series, Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Chained am I, to desolation's huge anchor
on its long black ship, cargo of hate and rancor
yet in spirit oft I roamed blue skies above
and in my fantastic dreams, found I my true love!
Such was a balm that fled when heartache renewed
Could return only when young life was reviewed!

Alas! At night stars dimmed and evil winds blew
midnight hour, I was served bones I could not chew
and a foul drink of bitter regrets and lying
as Fate had set me here, this ship of slow dying!
Such was a dark curse, uttered by her deep hate
For she turned to darkness to then alter my Fate!

Ten years had raced into oblivion's cup
into darkest seas we went, I never gave up
tho' soul had been impaled by poisonous blades
I clung to that romantic love that never fades!
Such as the poets of old sang and wrote about
Crying to the heavens, chorus of mighty shouts!

Chained was I, to desolation's huge anchor
on its long black ship, cargo of hate and rancor
yet in spirit oft I roamed blue skies above
and in my fantastic dreams, found I my true love!
Such was a balm that fled when heartache renewed
Could return only when young life was reviewed!

Premium Member Look To the Skies

At times when life seems upside down
and all the world is spinning round,
just lift your head and gaze your eyes
upon the azure autumn skies.

For in the skies, a pure delight,
are puffy clouds of snowy white
just floating softly over head
who’s simple beauty’s left unsaid.

So leave behind the clamant crowds,
and float in cotton candy clouds
that drift the tender skies above
and rest your thoughts in peace thereof.

For in these tender clouds you’ll find
a comfort that will ease your mind
when all the world is spinning round
and all of life seems upside down.

Premium Member Beauty's Door

I'm inspired to open beauty's door
To step outside and let my mind explore,
To feel refreshing rain from skies above
To internalize nature's gifts of love.

Your poetry is what inspires so...
Such imagery that sets my heart aglow.
You capture life and love within your rhyme
In music of your words that's so sublime.

Enchantment swells from my impassioned heart
From glory that your wondrous words impart.
The depth of passion with coherent bliss
Lingers in my mind as a cherished kiss.

I long to be enfolded by your charms
With dreams of being held within your arms,
As your desires seem so real to me....
Yet, sure I know those dreams be poetry.

Premium Member Dawns Gifts

Silver shimmers
   reflected by the sea
When dawn kisses each
    silhouetted tree.
As sunrise pierces
    fleecy clouds of blush
A canvass bides the
    eager artist's brush.

Our Banyon bids adieu
    to fowl in flight...
Their songs reverberate
    in morning light
Attesting to the joy
    each dawn excites
In explosive colors
    which Sol ignites.

As breezes blow through
    azure skies above
I share divinely Dawn's
     sweet gifts of love.

Merry Christmas (Mele Kalikimaka) from Hawaii….Aloha

Sailors Follow

Those stars that sailors follow
Guiding less the sea to swallow

And the night seas black as tar
Beyond the wave a land afar

Halyards taught, blocks in tallow
Breezes fresh and salt swallow

Timbers creak, white horses foam
Callused hands and oceans comb

And the stars pull them forth
South, east, west and north

Cabin boy or salty jack
Afore the mast, bare their back

Seas of glass or howling gales
Stands his watch what ever ails

For them the ocean a magic place
For every dawn a changing face

The face of his one true love
The wind, stars, skies above

The Art of Loving You

Monet

Come with me, let us rekindle love –
walk with me over bridges aglow
while rivers magically glisten below.
If you hold my hand,
perhaps, we might spy a magpie
perched from a snowy sky and as night
stirs, then shifts from a full-swing soiree
into muted memories of still life,
I might fear darkness less
than when I am alone and adrift.
If you remember, the city lights
are more beautiful when it rains softly,
but a stormy night without you
takes me by surprise every time.

Tonight, let me be your Camille,
allow me to inspire the artist in you,
if for nothing more than conversation
or passionate admiration. You and I
can chase Pegasus, watch him gallop
across mystical skies in motion,
wings spanning our unabridged story
in unison till we flow into flaxen dawn
of illumination in golden-blues.
Are you only an impression of yesterday's
tearful adieu or more?

Without you, my melancholy song will rise
like smoke puffing from rooftop chimneys.
In an enlightened city, I hear music
from the spirited streets. It haunts me
and still intensifies my desire for love.
When you are gone, I can smile and even laugh
sometimes, but I cannot hide
the pale hues of sorrow in my eyes.
My Monet visions of sunrise awakened by
the warmth of your breath in whispers of morn
will dull to grays when again, you go away.

Tomorrow, I will be left to ponder
my worth, my suffering, my vulnerabilities,
all the colors of my world
while I chase shadows in the sun,
always searching for the perfect one –
a balance of light and dark,
of missing you too much and not enough.
Chase your dreams while I chase time,
infinite turmoil from a speared sky,
and days will remember to turn to night.

Even long after I die,
skies above us will dance in starlight
for someone else’s eyes. Until then,
the perfect shadow may be my own
next to yours, no matter the source of light.
But as I learn to pace footsteps alone,
reaching from a canvas brushed in strokes
of my own light, like stars,
I am loving you from afar.

Last Dance and May I Have This Dance

Last Dance by Darren White

Oh be my heart for me when it stops beating,

My lungs to breathe thin air still far too chill,

My feet to dance the world while I’m still living

As they still want but now no longer will.

Be my two arms and tug me in our tango—

Flamenco palo, wrap your wings around

My lithe frame, chant me our concluding canto

With all the strength in us you somehow found.

Oh sit with me and reminisce those dances…

Pure, perfect passion, smile and lift your head,

Observe illuminated skies above you…

We meet again, we’ll waltz soon in Atlantis.

With you here, there is nothing that I dread,

Do not be sad, this is not an adieu.

May I Have This Dance?

My heart beats a steady rhythm

Gale winds won't take my breath

Your feet on top of mine can dance all ebullient

And if your arms get tired, mine will hold your weight

No wings here-I am mortal

Let our spirits of freedom sate

And soar across the heavens, through the Milky Way

You are a bright lit candle-the flame will not go out

For I am keeper of the lighthouse

Scribing every nuance

Your words shine so, mi Estrella

Living words that sing and sway

Sometimes rhyming, artful placing

Every syllable is etched to stay

So, light the path of your life’s passions

Each word a heartfelt view

Dance for everyone to follow-learn the beauty that is you.

Dream Light

Hardened solid is the clay
That shapes the way I am today
I dream escape from endless grief
Restoring child-like belief

Experience has made me cold
Stolen who I was before
Left behind half of a whole
Changed the essence of my core

I wish to dance in brilliant light
Cleanse my soul with gentle rain
Slumber sound in dark of night
At dawn awaken without pain

Soar up high in skies above
Gaze down upon meadows green
To once again believe in love
To have faith in things unseen

Memories that formed the clay
Although impossible to do
Will them all to melt away
And live the bliss that I once knew

Premium Member - Soft Swan Wings -

You are a jeweled gift sparkling diamond rock temple
One of thousand in the world touched petal by petal

Skies above true blue wrapped cotton white emotions
Arches over our earthly plains east to west one circle

Inside silk ribbon feelings tie the knot perfectly
With wings of a swan bound unto you eternally

In you who crowns the heart with passions ignite magic
When the sky was falling into the promised land chants

Carnation of a flower deeply stirring dewdrops rose
In light of the rainbow mountains shone glitter dust

Loving you morning and night never goes out of fashion
Amor helped to ignite flames that burn purely with love

Premium Member November Rain

It won’t stop raining
dismal, forlorn murky skies above
similar to a depressed painter’s palette
bring torrent outbursts
becoming heavier and heavier
descending louder and louder
drowning me in a deluge of emotions
soaking the sanity from my drenched soul

Sombre November rain is always different
colder and sinister like a virus rapidly spreading
poisoning my body with intense anxiety
battering me like a hail of bullets in the line of fire

Twilight is swallowed by blackness briskly
stars illuminate, as the moon glows
but nature continues to immerse me
bathing like a forced baptism
How I long for a glimpse of the sun to shelter
but there is no sign of a rainbow any time soon

Premium Member Spring Lasses

March is the first to arrive on the scene.
She sees Winter leaving and blows him a kiss,
And then she starts in to paint the world green.
Even though March has brought us such bliss,
Spring will get even better than this!

April comes next, summoning showers.
That rain falls refreshingly from skies above.
Soon we hear birds and smell fragrant flowers.
Nature's rebirth we are witnesses of
When April surrounds us with signs of God’s love.

Butterflies flutter and baby chicks hatch.
Sun gives more strength day by day.
Our next lovely lass has nary a match,
For she is the merriest, with the name May.
Be happy when she’s on her way!

June is the fourth and the last girl of spring,
Distinctive because she’s the one
To finish the season that makes our hearts sing.
Even then, her work in not done.
She ushers in Summer and welcomes new fun!

Premium Member The Opal

The opal’s not like other stones,
her polish more satin than shine,
her colors mixed and muted tones
but look closer, within you’ll find--
there’s lightning coursing in her veins
and fire burning at her core.
She hints of blue skies above the rain,
turquoise calm though the seas may roar,
of blazing sunrise and sunset.
She speaks of passion veiled in lace,
of secrets kept without regret
and fragile things you can’t replace.

Oh, may you keep her safe from harm
and ever wonder at her charms.

Premium Member Artistry and Grandeur

You ask if I could drive us to the park
where no impediments of man distract.
Fierce gold and dusky pink as sky grows dark -
we witness yet another glorious act.
Creation draws our eyes to skies above -
the artistry and grandeur of the Lord.
The cosmos demonstrates the Father’s love;
a missing soul-piece wondrously restored.
Thou morning sun, ye stars and orb of night,
ye daunting winds inducing clouds to roll
proclaim thy Maker’s beauty, grace, and might;
thy pirouettes declare His firm control.
  Ephemeral these scenes that stir the heart;
eternal are the hands that shape the art.

   The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Premium Member The Lady By the Ocean

The sands on the beach
Are like the colour of her hair
As i sit by the ocean
All i can do is stare

The blue of the ocean water
Can never match her eyes
Despite our natures wishes
All she can do is try

The blue skies above her
Carpet her ceiling surround
Her posture of delight
In plentiful abound

Her body is slight and tanned
A joyous site to see
This blond beach lady in the sun
Gracing the land of the free

Premium Member Adoration of Nature

Adrift in silent tranquillity, admiring a
Backdrop of nature's charm and grace.
Clarion cloudless sapphire skies above
Depict the state of calmness in my mind.
Eyes admire an abundance of blossoming
Flowers, red tulips, lilac lilies and bluebells.
Growing around lush emerald meadows.
Heart is at ease watching robins in trees.
Instrumental echoes of their chirps among
Japanese cherry blossom buds are so fragile.
Kindred spirits of nature entwine with my soul,
Lingering in the harmony of serenity and purity.
Mind is overcome with a sense of sadness.
Numb to the atrocities causing Earth's demise.
Overdose of pollution conflicts our existence
Painful reminders are shown through disasters
Questioning the actions of global leaders
Reluctant to change their imperialistic needs.
Secretly increasing their imperialistic desires.
Trying to fool us, whilst abusing our habitat with
Unjust behaviours destroying the ecological system.
Vegetation covered in pesticides genetically modified, yet
World is still full of poverty, hunger and drought with
Xenophobes increasing injustices for minorities.
You can only strive for global betterment, by
Zealously fighting the mental process of humanity.
