As a young boy
I watch with interest the small man
Wolf Hunter - a wise father of the hunt

He begins an old ritual
   coating his knife blade
rich animal blood and tallow fat
   freeze

Wolf Hunter adds another blood-tallow layer
   freeze
   and another – freeze

A frozen tallow-blood knife

Wolf Hunter knowing the wolf
    fixes his knife in ground
    blade up
    prays and leaves . . .

Grey wolf sniffs air and begins to run
    blood is on the wind
he licks, tasting the delicious blood-tallow

He howls into the night and licks faster
   a blood lust building
lapping the blade until the sharp edge bites

Feverishly now, faster and harder
Grey wolf licks the blade in the arctic night
great is his craving for blood

The insatiable blood-thirst
now being satisfied by his own warm blood
the naked blade biting his tongue
    his carnivorous appetite devouring

In the pale morning light
    Wolf Hunter finds Grey Wolf
    dead in the snow
stooping down he picks up his knife

 I stand . . . frozen – sicken by the sight
Wolf Hunter looking at me says
. . . to be consumed by your own desire
is a dangerous and deadly foe

Years later
    staring at the bottle
hands shaking -- eyes filled with lust
    a vison: a grey wolf consumed . . . dead
the howl of the wolf-wind beseeching

To be consumed by your own desire is a dangerous and deadly foe

Why sit and worry over things that seem to happen daily;
Little things that come and go that just annoy us really?
Why get angry over certain things that those around us do,
'Cause people make mistakes sometimes and life's too short to stew,

O'er things that sometimes come about without a soul to blame,
'Cept happen-stance and circumstance for want of other names.
To fume and worry constantly makes mind and body sicken.
It doesn't solve a single thing, it takes the joy from livin';

For God has deemed that rain will fall on fair and foul alike,
And what can grow without the rain as well as warm sunlight;
So take the rain and praise The Lord for sunlight and for showers,
And thank Him every day that dawns for blessings He's made ours.

Type- Writing Class

A.S.D.F……..he typed,
Retyped,
Again did it, again, again………
Tick….tick, tick….tick……minutes sicken.

Soon his nearby seat she took,
A new student with hairs black,
Just a glance,
Next day, a smile, sprouted silent roots.

She got up and turned;
Her shampoo smelling hairs patted
On his face,
By chance.

That night on red bed his,
Fancy dress contest of fancies.
In love birth pain,
He does roll, twist, turn…………

He is earlier student, day next,
In attires newest.
But she came never,
Vanished in the life clouds.

Slim…..brown…..gentle…..
Still lingers shampoo smell.
His solitude pokes the sensorium,
Recollections….tick….tick, tick….seriatim.

I Want To Be a Vegan

I want to be a vegan
I want to give up meat
I want hemp DM's to wear upon my feet
No more burgers, sausages and no more lamb kebab
No more chicken drumsticks gotta fight the flab
Mushroom for me now, mushroom instead of steak
Instead of meat pie I'm gonna have a cake
A vegan cake mind, without milk or eggs
I won't be buying my cake from Cooplands or Gregg's
I think I might still do a little bit of fish
But I'll avoid putting offal on my dish

I want to be a vegan
I want to give up meat
I want to revolutionise the food that I eat
Fruit and veg is better for you than eating a cow
Sausage made from Quorn is healthier than a sow
let the little lamb live a much fuller life
Instead of carving it up young with a carving knife
I feel for the bird, I feel for the chicken
The way it's kept in cages, leaves me quite sicken
You get all the good stuff from nuts, berries and different types of seeds
You can even find it in flowers, nettles and other random weeds
I want to be a vegan I want to give up meat
Stop the polluting cattle grazing and grow more wheat!

Shredded Life

Your silence only
ampliphies the lies
And keeps problems and
doubts well fed
Comfort and trust
quickly sicken and die
What's left is a shell of a
memory
a life
Shreds of things we've
built together
Float through the still, stale
air
of betrayal
a desolate place where
decisions are hard
and consequences seem
heavier
than the mistakes that
gave birth to them
In these periodic moments
of paralyzing sadness
I consider jumping off
the side of this island
Into the unknown
with nothing but a leaky
raft
of pain, broken oars to
guide myself further into
solitude and the leftover
vows we couldn't keep

Heroes Soon Forgotten

Disease beneath the skin, iron will can never win.
Death in the air, sorrow and misery the killing pair.
What's no longer in the mind, has left for no one to find.
The eery chill, just waiting for the kill.
Demons never cease, death will never release.
The cold dead fingers, kills sorrows singers.
The dead in the earth, doomed from birth.
Lightning streaks the sky, as angels begin to cry.
The mighty hell fire, will never tire.
The infected precense, causes all to wince.
Throughout seasons, death has no reasons.
Hours are days, as the darkness forever stays.
Knife carves through bone, as the end is shown.
Before the damned awake, this world will break.
No repents for the sinner, in this game there is no winner.
When will we see the light, for all sicken of this endless fight.
The heroes will soon be forgotten, for now the loving hearts are rotten.
In those crying eyes, the darkness continues to rise.
Death plays the tune, beckoning the wicked soon.
Will this never end, for all have not sinned.
Remembering the dead, as all watched as demons fed.
Can any make it through, as hearts break in two?
All that remains, is the haunting scars and pains.
Trembling before shadows lord, deafening as the reaper has roared.
The blade falls, without the slightest pause.
Who can rise above, and make true what we've dreamt of?
Who can we trust, to fight through greed and lust?
Shattered dreams, tore through the seams.
We fight this master, as our lives drain faster.
Death comes to all, as they hear the voiceless call.
Getting closer to the gates, who now controls our fates?
Laughter burning through our ears, consuming all fears.
Finally there is freedom, finally the light has come.

The Imperfects

Normal people, that's my game.
You think you know me? How lame.
I make my way, night by night.
Better watch where your going, I bite.
It's not for money, women, or fame.
It's for the bodies I claim.
I would tell you, but you wouldn't understand.
I feel like a fish, out on dry land.
There is no one like me, I am unique.
The world will die, I give them a week.
Kill them all, that much is clear.
I have to make them, disappear.
I'll bury them all, one by one.
Until my final task, is done.
Your lives are in my hands, your souls.
I'll pump your chest, full of holes.
I want the world, all to myself.
Only me, no one else.
Your impurities, make me ill.
And that's not how, I want to feel.
No need to run, that much is true.
I'll get you no matter what you do.
The world was going, in a downhill path.
I had to do something, had to act fast.
Your hookers and druggies, sicken me.
And that's not how, I want to be
If you were only perfect, like me.
This wouldn't have to happen, you see?
It's your own faults you brought it on yourselves.
Now you all, GO TO HELL!

HAIBUN
You are electron microscopic size, but you possess infinitesimal power. Just a single strand of encapsulated RNA, yet you and your brothers SARS and MERS can sicken and kill more complex life.

Covid-19, virion unseen
Bring humans to their knees
Cowering and trembling

You spring up suddenly from nowhere and spread like fire in a parched forest. Devastating stock markets, stopping sports teams, halting concerts and forbidding gatherings over 250 souls. Quarantines of ships and planes. People greedily grasping, fighting and clawing for the important things in life: toilet paper, masks, cleaning supplies, paper towels.

A boon to corporations
Johnson and Johnson, Proctor and Gamble
Secretly happy you are around.

World wide you spread, showing no regard for race, boundaries or politics.

Italians, Iranians, Chinese,
Americans, Norwegians,
Japanese, Brazilians

The world caught unprepared. Scientists scrambling to develop a vaccine. All will breathe a sigh of relief when you cease your rampage. That is until you return, mutated, the same but different and we start all over again.

I Say Them No More

Sicken all this while
Life is in a jittery
For the pleasures of life not a surety
Sorrow haunts my abilities

I'm enmeshed to grief and solitude
I never swore to serve pain
Never did I take aye to sorrow
Yet I'm submerged in life's pool of agony

I play for the world love tunes
But in return it gives me misfortunes
Guess I was born to be lonely
With no one to call my one and only
The ladder that lead others to fame
Leads me to shame

These words are of the past
I say them no more
The war against life is over
I have found hope
Thank you God for touching me
And for being there
My best company.

Premium Member A Woman Scorned

Later she would look back and see
the cracks that were now obvious.
How blind she once had been
in the throngs of her passion.

Twenty years of his affairs
his lies, and his betrayal.
Yet it was only by chance
that she had found out.

Out for lunch one day
she saw him at the back,
with a lovely young woman.
He was engrossed in her.

Their body language intense
she could see the hot flames.
Following when they left
she saw them enter the hotel.

Sicken to her very core
she went home and paced.
Then set his clothes on fire
gleefully watching them burn.

When he saw the flames
he knew the game was up.
He raced to try to save things
Yelling out you crazy *****.

Then a loud screech of tires
he drove off rubber burning.
As for her, the flush of triumph
soon faded leaving her drained.

The divorce was acrimonious
the final judgement in her favour.
He now learned the hard lesson
never cross or scorn a woman.

Elderly Neglect and Abuse

Our aged among us need love, care and compassion
Not someone callous, lashing out at them with hostility
Someday you too will be so frail and weak
Is that the way you want your last days to be?

Consider yourself lucky to pass on at an early age
For you very well may get someone serving you with rage
I doubt seriously you could take what they are receiving
With endurance and strength their dear hearts endure

You’re not made of the stuff they are, not by far
For they worked hard, had compassion in all that they did
Your day will come soon enough for needing some help...
We will see you then, as you plead for attention ...

What goes around ... comes around ... Just remember that!!
As you lay in bed weeping, ‘what’d I do to deserve such treatment?’
You know who you are, and what it is that you do ...
A disgrace to humanity you have taken upon you!

I pray for the ones that are in your care
For they truly do not deserve at all to be there
They have given their lives way beyond your capability
And you cause them to live with such humility

Just get out! ... let someone else do the job
For many do care and are much more desired
You sicken me far beyond comprehension ...
Just leave now! ... before another life is forgotten!

Premium Member Beware the Diabolical Biological Drill

What demons lurk in government leaders?
Our lives like toys to play and discard?
Hearts frozen in fear
Snakes coiled to strike
Gas or virus, from enemies within

You may overcome us, sicken and slay
But remember the 3%, from
Revolutionary days!

I stand with my brothers, to the last man
Hell hath no fury
Like an American band!

Rock from the streetcorners!
Resistence is strong!
Gabriel's horn section
Angels sing along!

Through smoke and the tears
God fights at our side
His grace will sustain us
His love will survive!

Now join with me brothers
Sisters come too!
You won't want to miss
This concerts for you!

-Unedited-

Sad strange little man,
You should, no wait you have to ditch the bar
That's on your to do list 7 days of the week
Cuz you start to think you're unique using you're technique
But really you're just a freak
Sad strange little man,
You know it's only getting worse
You start to curse then you're stealing
Purses from nurses (wait stop that's the cops!)

You sicken me you drunk chicken you!
You make me wonder, how you're still stuck with her
If you're afraid of the night
I'm surprised your pocket's still alright
If you can survive on booze
Then surely you can choose,
To lose the loco in your noggin

Sad strange little man,
You should really get a better hobby
When did you start calling Robbie, Zimbabwe?
Cuz you start to think it's alright to start a bar fight
But really you're not that bright
Sad strange little man,
You know it's only getting worse
You start to curse then you're stealing
Purses from nurses (wait hold on that's john!)

You sicken me you drunk chicken you!
You make me wonder, how you're still stuck with her
If you're afraid of the night
I'm surprised your pocket's still alright
If you can survive on booze
Then surely you can choose,
To lose the loco in your noggin

Cause last night you didn't come home!
And we were all worried sick that you were dead
Or worse down at the tavern again
It's like we have to have iron bars just to keep you in
Is this a prison cell? Do we have to have our eye on you all the time?
Oh it's brave how you look to the bright side
You're not afraid of dying,
Just scared to death that there won't be a bar in the afterlife
So get out, get out
Cause these colors are blurry
No you never worried
Your mind is an open door
We don't know how you are anymore
You're a drunken chicken and it's too late

For the WORST POEM CONTEST

This is absolutely appalling to me on so many levels. Looking back at it now it's sorta funny, but wow! Where in the world was my brain at when I wrote this!?
