your voice now silent
never to see you smile again

you left us heartbroken
unprepared
shocked to silence

we remember
your laughter and your
“I can go on attitude”
never complaining
just being you
even when fighting
this battle

we'll never know why
you had to leave us so soon
we'll always wonder
we'll always have questions

God knew your journey was complete
when He selected the perfect rose for His garden today---

Premium Member Judges Have Been Selected

Hello, my most esteemed poets,

I am trying an experiment that I believe has not been done here on the PS site. I have posted a new poetry contest called "The Prismatic Self: A Gauntlet of Mirrors within the Arena.".

The JUDGES have now been selected:

1. Lin Lane
2. Ink Empress
3. Duke Beaufort
4. Vanya Evangeline
5. Anne Winter
6. Hiya Sharma
7. Andrea Dietrich
8. Daniel Rodgers

Since only one person can view the contest, all contestants' submissions will be distributed between the group for input and ratings. When the contest is complete and we have the final list of winners, we will have personal insights from all the judges for each winner and all honorable mentions.

Thank you for your time and patience

Blessings,
Daniel

Randomly Selected

I randomly selected you for a treat.
A delightful surprise for the meek.
It is my breaths of large you seek.
You discovered your fate of feat.

I brought you to a judgment seat.
And books of life you took a peek.
Then in heaven you found the leak.
Then the drums rolled and they beat.

You were in awe to say the least.
So was I in looking at your face.
It is to the west as it is to the east.
But definitely a different place.

Many were absolutely ejected and rejected,
But you my dear were randomly selected.

The Selected Poems of Whoever

They caught me in the library—
Reading the selected poems of,
Whoever. When this day ends,
I feel as if someone lit a match
Inside my mouth.
When I walk down the aisles of books
Warped with titles by authors
Of obscure names
My fingers grasp complacently
The worn bindings
And I breath deep the toxic must
Of 300 years in a basement,
Maybe less.

The origin of pages promulgates the pasture(s)
Of my dreams, the dream of dreams, and
The dream of stars in the heavens of the other planets,
Not like this one
Where the cage of my figure must reside.

I don’t care about edits—
Instantaneous insanity is better.
I don’t care about raves
I’ll rave about a bad hair day
Before I listen to a pseudo-happy-rave
Of a wannabe pilgrim
A shrieking raven is more fascinating.

Your Return Has Been Selected For Audit

Your Return Has Been Selected for Audit

By Elton Camp

The government letter that Joe read
Every taxpayers so much does dread

“Your return, for audit, has been picked.”
Joe is certain that, by the IRS, he’s licked

Tax advice he accepted from his brother
But wishes he’d listened to some other

“There’s no way you will get caught.
Just the way I file is what you ought.”

The thousands Joe said he gave his church
He fears the lie has left him in the lurch

The 1985 model car to charity he gave away
Was worth ten thousand, he did unwisely say

Claiming that he supplied a client a $200 dinner
To the IRS has made him look just like a sinner

The home office deduction he decided to claim
Is another fraud that the IRS will be able to name

Joe began to loudly scream and fearfully wail
And wondered if he would spend time in jail

Selected (Part 2)

I feel my muscles
   cord up with tension ,
  can almost hear them creak
in the strain.
Lumbering over
  I lean in close,
he seems
on the verge of passing out
face white as paste
and he flinches as my breath
  smacks him in the face.

I reach down
    and shove a claw
into his right leg,
that gets his blood flowing again
and his scream intoxifies me,
I snap my teeth
             into his shoulder
and fling him against the wall.
He hit the floor
  and I leap upon him,
sinking in my claws,
      locking his corpse beneath me.
Lashing at him
 with my paws
I dig into his chest
    tearing away
       the flesh
   and snapping
the ribs like twigs…….
     I pause…
to watch the heart
       throb and convulse.

Blood dripping
from my now matted fur
         I begin
by biting off his right arm
then grabbing hold
           of the wrist
I tear off the bicep
with my jaws
mashing it with my molars,
   and as it slides
down my throat,
Always watching
            his expression,
       I shiver.
With heart rate speeding
  I rip away
the chunky part
      of the right thigh,
pin it to the floor
  then devour it
      resting my torso
upon his.

I eat
  into the left leg
hunkering down,
     guarding my prey,
there is so much blood
I can feel the hair
   on my snout
     weighed down
       like when you walk
in a heavy rain.

I stop long after
   the heart
      became still,
push my bloated body
off the remains
and lope away,
  almost drunkenly.
And if
   there was some one there,
they’d see
      the grin of satisfaction
           upon my face,
and me
licking the juicy chunks
from my snout
    as I depart.

28) "Am I a God near at hand," says the LORD, "And not a God far off?" Can anyone
hide himself in secret places, So that I shall not see him," Says the LORD; "Do I
not fill the heaven and the earth?" Says the LORD. Jeremiah 23:23-24

29) "My covenant was with him, one of life and peace, And I gave them to him that
he might fear Me; So he feared Me, and was reverent before My name. The
law of the truth was in his mouth, And injustice was not found on his lips. He
walked before Me in peace and equity, And turned many away from inequity.
For the lips of a priest should seek the law from his mouth; and he is the
messenger of the LORD of hosts. Malachi 2:5-7

Premium Member Red Skull Selected

I have over 400 comic books
with groupings of
Wolverine, Dead Pool, Doctor Strange,
Carnage, Moon Knight, Spider-Man,
Godzilla, Batman, Hellboy, Spawn,
Captain America and Ghost Rider
so who do I select to follow and read the most
yes, it would certainly be the Red Skull
so why would I select this man of hatred and evil
to be my muse
why do I stack his comic books by my laying ground
why am I obsessed and enthralled by such a villian
it's because people see me as they see him
an outcast, a loser, a man on a mission alone
no, I am not evil, but my past jokes portray me this way
no, I do not hate, but my actions have painted me awry
I wear a Red Skull t-shirt everyday
and am thinking about getting a tattoo of him
so people will know that I'm an innocent child
blessed by God but hated by the masses
Captain America can try to take me down
I have a couple lives left to spare as does the Red Skull
we are not one
but we are the same
hated, abused, shunned and disliked
so spend your time drinking your tea
I'll be reading and enjoying my Red Skull comics

Did understand that an error was detected;
Some other personality should be selected;
Could be at odds;
Created by gods;
Sure hope some day mine can be corrected.

Selected Area Infected

He had selected an area which was infected;
Contains cancer cells that should be corrected;
Searched around;
Source found;
Is something that does seem so complicated.

Premium Member A Selected Few

I sit all alone in a dark room
my life is heartache and gloom

My my only friend and ally is me
I don't possess a thing called glee

Will the sun ever shine again
will I find the rainbow?

My thoughts are pure torture
and I have no plans for my future

I live and breathe in utter darkness
my resting place is total abiss

It is pure hell getting thru another day
will peace and joy ever come my way?

I long to know joy in the depths of my soul
I want to be completely and utterly whole

Is happiness only for a selected few?
How can I feel brand new?

Is peace, joy and wholeness only an illusion?
I will not believe that and that's my hopeful conclusion
