i sit lonely.

the crowded restaurant is thick with sound

i pick away at it

moving back into the stagnant silence
of my own comfort

the air is nasty here
it telepathically abuses my thought patterns

still
a far cry better
the loud hum of food
marching to the vacant crowd
suffocates me

a decorated plate joins my table
strikes a conversation with the cutlery
there is no call from the governor
as i attack my food
fork knife teeth

bites later
a paper plane flies in
a swipe of my plastic
makes quick work of the bill

i exit
seemingly quicker
than human eyes can catch

i hate this part
i parley my way through
too many bodies
all the while staring
at a concrete maze
never making eye contact
with a single soul

i do that
i always do that
keep the entrances of my being
away from those who would stare me down
attempt to engage me in conversation
with a desire to lock eyes

if they looked in they would burn
i’d be held responsible

FINALLY

 home
the only environment i feel safe in

my therapist will be proud
almost an hour today
assuming i see her again

i am covered in my own dew
my breathing sporadic

i line up an array of pills like good soldiers
as i continue my attempt
survive another day

it will take hours to regain my sanity
all the while questioning the purpose

 why must i assimilate
back into the dungeons
they call society

it behooves me
find one reason
join the rank and file
plug back into a horrendous grid
i had escaped

i
grow
weary
of
my
own
thoughts

ignore my voice

slowly regain my footing

plant roots
hope they’ll take hold
attempt to return
into the vacuum of my existence

i sit lonely.

60 Seconds

60 Seconds

Gruelling nights with haunted dreams
Explosions tearing at my seams
The worst, last night; I couldn’t sleep
My expendability made me weep.

With dawn awoke a brand new day
A deathly mare in my mind lay
And there it lay until at last
60 seconds had oddly past.

60 seconds not thinking of you
Acidic eruptions did not spew
From the pit of my stomach to expel my heart
First waking moments not torn apart.

The realization made me smile
I pondered it for a while
The first 60 seconds that you weren’t there
The first 60 seconds I did not care.

No thoughts of kisses on my lips
Or intertwining fingertips
No mocking jokes to make me giggle
Or cheeky moves to make me wiggle

60 seconds without your eyes
60 seconds without your lies
For 60 seconds my heart was mine
For 60 seconds I did just fine.

Sadness, still it lurks within
But I shan’t touch a drop of gin
Those seconds showed me I shall win
Now the healing can begin…

Each second dies so brief it stays
among the minutes, hours, and days
of living’s murmuration spell,
in which we mortals have to dwell;
as each moment slowly decays.

Time is inconstant; it betrays;
traps you in it’s alluring maze;
then so, quite when, it’s hard to tell,
each second dies.

Time is not all that it portrays,
that of a roll of endless days.
Too soon, you’ll hearken your death knell,
tolling seconds fond farewell;
as fickle time, with you, it plays,
each second dies.

Six Seconds

Breathe in, breathe out
You wish life was that easy
In one, two, three
Take in your colourful pills
Then four, five, six
You’ll fall into a never-ending sleep…

35 Seconds To Suicide

1…2…3…4…
This is battle…This is war.

5…6…7...8…
Escape is just beyond this gate.

9...10...11...
All good girls go to heaven.

12...13...14...15...
The blade is ready, the blade is keen.

16...17.,.18...19...
Everybody must demean.

20...21...22...
I’d be alive if they only knew

23...24...25...26...
My problems are too hard to fix.

27…28…29…30…
Life is everything but sturdy.

31…32...33…
Life is the lock, death is the key.

34...3-...

Premium Member Dog Was In My Lap In Seconds

Ate a cookie, warm and sweet, with oatmeal and chocolate.
Yum. Yum.
The dog was on my lap in seconds, begging me for some.

No way, girlfriend.
It is not my fault you woofed your candy bar down already.
Problem is, these cookies are individually wrapped

As you unwrap them, they sound like
A Hershey Bar being unwrapped.
Girlfriend’s second favorite sound.

Her first favorite sound is the loud pop
Of the Tupperware container lid as you take it off
The Honey baked ham bowl.

Yes, we do have a spoiled dog.

2 Seconds

2 seconds
a simple hug
such a short embrace
just a little bit of love

a 2 second hug
and a kiss on the cheek
a little something extra
to make her hug more sweet

a 3 second hug
and a kiss on the cheek
a hug and a kiss
for every time we meet

how wondrous is the magic
in the things that show love
the little things that count
like kisses and hugs

to wonder and not worry
with some form of repose
a hug and a kiss
could make one suppose

suppose she likes me
a little more than that
a kiss on the cheek
is not a pat on the back

it might be something special
or cruelty leading me on
it could be something casual
or something she does for fun

but what if i'm right
and all my second guessing wrong
then it wouldn't hurt to ask her
for more kisses and more hugs

Ten Seconds

I'm down on the ground,
My brain starts to pound,
It may not be fun,
But ten seconds aren't done.
10 seconds remain.

I still have time,
To arise again,
The timer hasnt hit ten,
Time isn't my friend,
8 seconds remain.

I punch hard, I kick,
I choke, I feel sick.

I try to yell, over the incessant chants,
This is the last time, my last chance.
Five seconds remain.

I call out, my plight.
I never wanted this fight.
I press up with all my might,
I feel progress, my eyes are losing their light.
Three seconds remain.

It all hurts, to breathe,
Under my worst foe, I am beneath.
For it is no human, it's within me.
I need to get up, to be free.
But it isn't over, I can win,
I push against that evil twin,
The sadness loses hold, I can get up.
One second remains.

Still Seconds ( a Valentine )

Still Seconds ( A Valentine )

Chocolate box romance
Of ribbons and flowers
Wishes in poetical phrases
Letter and verse
Imprinted rhythmical beats of hearts
In soft sweet confessions
Underline Cupids children

But my love prowls
On feline soft paws
Its breath an engine
Its rhythm slow steaming
Waiting

Saint Valentines greatest lovers
In painted masks
Have struggled expressions
Too beautiful to defy descriptions
Of eternal Kings and Queens
In heavens love
Of Cherubim and Seraphim

But my love rages
In perfumed heat
Its still seconds it eats
Its constant deciphering of
Wanting

A full deluge could wax Shakespearean
With torrential emotion
Propound and profess
Passions unceasing delirium
And so esteemed the grammatical invocations
Of loves powered obsessions
Would write unceasingly on

But my love irreversible
Stands helpless acceptance
Its distracted ecstatic if
Its intoxicated blood
Needing

And so I break upon a howling wind
Aching pours from my throat
A screaming name
Desperate tempest to a brooding sea
I stand helpless
In still seconds
Unable to contend
With love

5 Seconds

You have 5 seconds to apologize,
You have 5 seconds to run,
You have 5 seconds to cry,
You have 5 seconds to laugh,
You have 5 seconds to beat me,
You have 5 seconds yet you fail everytime.

In 10 Seconds

"I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it is my gift to you . . ."

                                                            A Rambling Poet

There’s always been a significant person
Who has guided me through life
And taught me everything
A growing girl should learn,
From counting all my numbers,
To knowing how life can be cold.

My gratitude rewards this person
For, I was not easy to train,
Oft’ times I turned my shoulder cold
I believed I knew everything.
I just wanted to be young and live,
And tried to stray too many times to count.

I’ve grown beholden of the things I’ve learned.
My knowledge floods in large quantities,
Through my veins, from the veins of a special being.
Accepted, and hoarding his words, entirety
My mind suppressing reality of his un-beating hearts coldness
Building castles in air, deceiving myself that he might live.

~”I walk solitaire, but not alone”~

Through the graveyard, choked by after-life.
His name on the monument, bold & stone cold.
I run my hand across the surface, and embrace it whole
Suffer the etching through my fingertips, I’ve new things to learn
“He” isn’t really here, only his flesh and bones.
I close my eyes to preserve it all, and count to 10.

Within that 10 seconds, his spirit enlightens my company,
Sits with me, we discuss everything
“I taught you a lot, especially these things of cold,
I know what I promised, I know what a special person
I was to you. But Randa you must now learn
To do things on your own. In the way of your own life.”

~”I shan’t forget the words he left me with…”~

“Pass my knowledge to my grandsons, for them to learn.
I see already you’ve taught Logan to count.
Princess, you know I’m still here, even though my flesh is cold
And, even though now I cant do every little thing
That I could when my blood flowed, I can live on through your life
And spiritually lead you to be who you want, as a person”

Then my daddy faded away, and everything
Went back to the way it was. Like numbers
On a clock, must be wound to keep it’s life.

Premium Member Two Seconds To Say Goodbye

It buzzed.
She smiled.
He had replied.
Eagerly she dug
Her phone
From her pocket,
Her other hand
On the wheel.
Her gaze remained ahead
Into the darkness
Of the cold wintery night.
It buzzed again,
The screen illuminating
The shadows of the car.
Would he be there?
Would he come over
After his shift at work
Was done?
“What did he say?”
Another young voice replied.
“Give me the phone.”
She hesitated,
Not fully trusting
Her friend.
Besides,
She wanted to know.
She wanted to see the words.
She wanted feel
The exhilaration
Of reading his words
To HER.
She glanced down,
The screen now dark,
And fumbled
To press the keys.
“He’s coming,” she said
Trying to calm
The enthusiasm
In her voice.
Her heart beat harder.
How did she look?
What should she reply?
Gr8 C U L8T
In the same 2 seconds, she could have typed
Goodbye.
