Dog Was In My Lap In Seconds

Ate a cookie, warm and sweet, with oatmeal and chocolate.
Yum. Yum.
The dog was on my lap in seconds, begging me for some.

No way, girlfriend.
It is not my fault you woofed your candy bar down already.
Problem is, these cookies are individually wrapped

As you unwrap them, they sound like
A Hershey Bar being unwrapped.
Girlfriend’s second favorite sound.

Her first favorite sound is the loud pop
Of the Tupperware container lid as you take it off
The Honey baked ham bowl.

Yes, we do have a spoiled dog.

Caren, Had such a wonderful time tonight reading your poems while listening to Bob Ross' soothing 'Joy of Painting' reruns on my laptop. I hope you have a nice weekend. -Richard

Thank you so much for letting me know. I often wonder if anyone is actually reading this stuff. Ha!

My cat loves that black forest ham so, I get it for her on occasion. Sometimes, she won't eat anything else but the vet says she needs to gain wait; she's 112 in cat years...I don't think weight will do her any good but, the vet insists. She can snort down three slices before she needs a nap so, I know what spoiled is.

Ah, we are both so indulgent; wonderful fur-moms. I am in great company!
