Premium Member For Loves' Sweet Sake

We go through each and every day
With family, friends and foes but,
For loves' sweet sake
We all endure
The chaos, tears and woes

And so you think
For loves' sweet sake
To wrestle with the dark?
Well - you will find that you've become
The bait - and food for sharks

The things you'll do
For loves' sweet sake
Can tear your heart apart
And cause distress where none should be
Who now will mend your heart?

Now this you say to your lost love
"How could you hurt me so"?
For loves' sweet sake
I gave up all
But would not let you go

For loves' sweet sake
You'll change your life
And try to start anew
With hope, with love with charity
You'll face what comes to you

So now, my friend, consider this
And all you've sacrificed
For loves' sweet sake
You gave your all
Hey - was it worth the price?

Let's ask the One who gave up all
To enter into Strife
For loves' sweet sake
He endured the Cross
He gave up His own life

He helped us know how much we're loved
He showed us how to be
He did all of this for us -
And more
For Loves' sweet sake you see

Art For Art's Sake

There are plenty of Ayn Rand followers around
but there is something called "Art for Art's Sake"
I have gotten paid for writing - even sold some poems
However, I feel that Art for Art's sake
is not a lot of nonsense
Poetry can liberate the spirit
and bring to life feelings that money just can't buy
So does Chock Full of Nuts coffee
However, I don't drink coffee
preferring to mellow out with some tea
        "the green kind"
I certainly wish success to the Green Pavillion poets
    All the time realizing
   that
writing is a great escape from the troubles of life
I. also realize that there are some
very great poets out there in the darkness
who never get up and read their work
who will become known in the future long after we have returned to dust

Premium Member For God's Sake, Read

If you attend one word I say, then read, dear child, please 'READ,'
Life's not like golf you score yourself though Donald feels the need!
Golf's time you waste, scant aid to health (so you're a fool indeed),
Your feces is your life's extent, a 'dinosauric' creed!

The "Donald" lusts to be earth's King and can't let others in,
While whole earth knows that Donald's odd, and daily bathes in sin,
He bows each morning to one God, "If you lose then I win!"
And tearing's down what builds him up, to say he cares, just spin.

But widely reading exercises muscles of the soul,
And helps you to feel less alone, that's quite a worthy goal,
A book's not looking for your praise, or spotted like a foal,
For camouflage is not required, nor book's home just a hole!

A book's more like the air we breathe, its wonders all can share,
And lives or dies by truth therein, not quailed by bully's dare,
"Fake News" cannot survive its scorn, won't grab you by 'short hair!'
A book provides like flowing spring; it's there is truly there!

A book's a servant, can't demand, imagination's time,
Can launch new thought, but never help a poet find his rhyme.
A book can be a worthy friend, its treasures quite sublime,
Invest your life; read any book; it's always worth your dime!

Sake Hangover

her mannequin flesh and acidic eyes dragged his inner beasts of burden from his bones and ruined them both. the subtle silence of bitter thoughts and broken promises creep through their pores and violates their veins. love is a marionette, twistedly dancing without ever touching the ground, mocking almost lovers and the corpses of letters written in bloody tears. he said, "be my coffin", her response was a peck on the cheek and the slamming of a door.

Love's Sake

Every simple step I take
Every mighty move I make
Every colourful cake I bake
Every cruel cord I break
Is for our life and love’s sake

Premium Member I Do It For the Doing's Sake

I pick up litter on the road.
What shines is often roadside trash.
I do it for the doing’s sake.

What glitters most is always gold,
To us who keep a highway clean.
Most cans and broken glass attract
Our eye like daytime fireflies.
I do it for the doing’s sake.

Not punishment for drunkenness.
(Though something I’ve been guilty of).
Nor for some passer by to take
Me for some do-good citizen.
I’ll not be known when dead and gone:
No apples trees as legacy.
I do it for the doing’s sake.

No stealing of what’s thrown away,
No trespass on what’s public land,
No evidence of DNA
Disturbed nor finger printed cans.
Just drive to give me wider birth.
Don’t honk or wave or two thumbs up.
Unless escaped from elder care,
Call no police to help me home.
I do it for the doing’s sake.

What is Peace

Peace is not the product of terror or fear.
Peace is not the silence of cemeteries.
Peace is not the silent result of violent repression.
 Peace is the generous,
tranquil contribution of all to the good of all.
 Peace is dynamism.
 Peace is generosity.
It is right and it is duty.
However, sometimes it take
blood and guts,
sorrow,
soul searching,
chastising,
even war,
to achieve
what is peace.

Still, For the Sake of a Whippoorwill

In the dappled hour between day and twilight,
surged the call of a Nightjar in flight,
                              a Whippoorwill sang at will,
                                      echoing his trill.
                                          I kept so
                                              still,
                                        and although
                                    quivering with chill,
                                waited for a female shrill
to answer him while I hid from sight
in the dappled hour between day and twilight

Your lies are weak.You mellow

Which Pete was “for Pete's sake” uttered
When mom got flustered, she always muttered
This time honoured phrase
From back in the day
Riding buggies for two that were covered

For Gods Sake,

How do i break the hate for Gods sake.
How do i escape the coil of the snake.
Life is not real death is my fate.
Body's cold it's starting to shake.
Soul is broken it's filled with hate.

Watching thru the eyes of someones hell.
Wishing my soul wasn't for sale
Living my life under a spell.
Speaking softly when I want to yell!

Feeling the world go round and round.
Chasing that special evil sound.
Me and nothing are pound for pound.
Having a fear of evil clowns.

Watching my loved ones disappear.
Trying to not shed a tear.
The power is pulling its almost here.
The wheels are broken im trying to steer.
The shadow is coming im full of fear.

How do i break the hate for gods sake
How do i escape the coil of the snake
Watching the dirt disentagrate
Human flesh evaporate
A simple sin is all it takes
Blood runs cold theres no mistakes

After Sake

after sake
the full moon
half its size

For the Sake of Sanity

I've had it up to here
life is so off track
hand me the remote
let's rewind it back

17 years old
I thought my life was hard
Well now I see the difference
'Cause now I am in charge

Companies are screaming
They get right my ear
"Miranda, pay your bills"
Clean your credit dear

Walk in the door
And I fall flat on my face
Toy's from crack to crevice
Completely out of place

Clean up this lovely mess
Get the kiddies off to bed
I try relaxing in the bath
To hear cries of "mama" in my head.
