Premium Member I Love the Way You Lie

I know that you are seeing someone else,
I'm not there when you close your eyes,
I believe that you are kissing me,
Knowing I love the way you lie.

I hear those three words from your lips,
If love is even possible, it's impossible to cry,
Though I know your heart is not truly mine,
I will always love the way you lie.

Your arms hold me as if you care,
My wise heart still wonders why,
Pretending that everything is alright,
Because I love the way you lie.

When I kiss you I think about nothing,
Wishing it wasn't you when I open my eyes,
I wonder, if I told you the truth,
Would you love the way I lie?

Written for Just That Archaic Poet's contest - "Sing To Me"

Inspired by the song "Love The Way You Lie Pt. 2" by Rihanna ft. Eminem

All Time Low

There's more than one Alex at an all time low
Trying to stay up because I know some people want to see me fall like snow
But then depression kicks in and it's off the walls I go
I hope you understand when I say there's more than one Alex at an all time low

Trapped inside these 4 walls as my music blares
The volume turned up so the outside world can't hear the abuse in here
Depression beating me, but the lyrics to the songs remove my fears
I got caught in a daydream so now depression wants to prove my nightmares

When it comes to my mistakes I've always been forthcoming
But depression still wants to ridicule me for my shortcomings
Depression doesn't want me to live them down
Constantly reminding me of the princess I was dating that I didn't crown

"You can't handle a goldfish, but now you want to bait a Piranha"
"you had your heartbroken by a regular girl, but now you want a date with Rihanna"
I reply I'm strong enough to face my karma
I'm just trying to think good thoughts to erase the drama

I would have took a bullet for her, but I didn't realise she'd be holding the gun, now it's poor me I'm shot
I can't deal with this sober, someone tell the bartender to pour me a shot
The more that I learn about love, the more that I'm shocked
My love for you is dead, I'm putting everything of yours in a box

I feel like screaming, but I don't want anyone to hear all the noise
Depression has me at an all time low saying soon we'll really fall out boy
I've been lost for a while, now I'm trying to find somewhere to call my home
Now you know my battle, you'll understand why Alex Gaskarth isn't the only Alex at an all time low

Melanin

Melanin
Girl, your melanin is POPPIN’
You woke up like that
You’re flawless
Yo’ skin is mixed with caramel and chocolate
As dark as night
Or as light as honey
Yo’ hair is so big and curly
You turn heads when you come into a room
Everyone becomes blinded by your glory
You’re feeling yourself…
Feeling your melanin
You are magical
You walk with an air of confidence
One that no one can deny
Erykah, Lauryn, Sade
Nicki, Rihanna, Beyoncé
Taught us self-respect
Taught us never to settle for less
Taught us to love ourselves
To love our melanin

Gangsta Rap Poetry

I'm just having fun, but no doubt someone will take this serious
I'm about to take you on a lyrical experience
I'm having fun with words, like when a baby first starts reading books
Saying I'm good at rhyming, Is like saying Mike Tyson packs a decent punch
I best mention the Kardashians other wise you'll have trouble keeping up
Me with a pen is more dangerous than Michael Myers on Halloween when he starts slashing with the knife
Telling me I can't rhyme, is the biggest mistake you've made since you let your ex Back in to your life
Speaking of exes, will someone please date mine
I promise she'll give you a great time
I'll pay for the date, its all on me
All I ask, is please be good enough to get her to stop calling me
I love Hip Hop, and yeah I know I'm white
Please be creative and tell me how I'm the new Vanilla ice
Or how I should walk right back across 8 mile
I could have thrown this into my waste pile
But I just wanted to write some joke lines and have some fun
Sick of hearing rappers talk about drugs and how they pack a gun
"yeah I'm Bad. I'll make this Uzi Squirt"
You don't know who Nas is, And think the greatest rapper is Lil Uzi Vert
Or some other mumble rapper with lame rhymes
You deserve to have Biggie and Big Pun sit on you at the same time
Some guy called Young Thug is wearing dresses
That's not something I have a problem with
My problem is
There's so much going on in the world and these rappers are scared to address it
What happened to Hip-Hop when rappers would share a message?
Nas, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, I could name so many more
Now its a bunch of dudes who sound the same with empty thoughts
I'd pretend to be from the hood and blast guns but I'd fail
I'd rather be the real me, and I'm far too cute to go to Jail
I just love Hip Hop and the way it used to be
You always get the truth from me
someone tell Rihanna I'm ready to give her the best 30 seconds of her life
Tell her she'll only regret it if I become a legend when I die
Knowing she could of had me
This is my last piece of paper, I'm now pad free
I was watching rap battles on YouTube, So took you on this lyrical experience
I'm just a poetical lyricist

The Cry of a Mere Kenyan

The CRY OF A KENYAN.
Rihanna talks of The New America
American Oxygen
It seems same for poor Kenya
Our one and only treasure
Drowning in the dark
Driven by cartels of no concern
No care for the next generation.
And here's my plead.

Am lost within a nation
No name no trace
No location no possession
No government but govern men
No freedom but free doom
Threats are the new proverbs
New slogans taking over,
(guilty till proven rich)
Corruption a current chess game
Leadership now a business gap
Leaders being Board Members
Cabinet being the shareholders
I wonder if we are the debtors
No say, since the burden is too big.

Am tired, torn, worn and tortured for my silence
Enough, if the flowing blood
Enough of the illegal lands
Enough of the assassinations
Coz Kenya is now more less Hollywood.
A crew hired to act the movie
The happenings seem dreams
All like fiction in The Originals.
The only fact, that time is passing

No longer can we entrust our lives on the government
No longer can we express out freely
No longer are our cases ruled with justice
Cases clog in the courts.
No longer can even prayers shaken their utter
No longer do they fear the Supreme One
But in churches, all different
Sited like an innocent infant
Faked sorrows while praying
All aiming to win our trust

Let's standout,Kenyans for Kenya
Let's open up eyes, and stop being fooled
Let's stop falling on their knees like slaves
A fact, they are meant to be our servants
But act like we are theirs slaves
Some lie to be fighting for us
But are after the seat, to grab the cheques
Wanting the privileges and Excellency
Let's stand for our poor Kenyans
Say No to their treachery
A New Kenya, me and you. — thinking about Kenya.

Funny Dreams

I have sworn off women
but I can't control my dreams
Beyoncé and Rihanna are trying to corrupt me
At least that's the way it seems .

The skimpy outfits they were wearing
Took away my breath
and on a winters night like this
I thought they might freeze to death.

They told me they would soon warm up
and what they were going to do
I know women have no stamina
but at least I'm getting two.

Now I'm a confident sort of guy
With a very open mind
but even I was shocked by their knowledge
Of a very carnal kind .

Then they started calling me Wyatt Earp
I thought my peacemaker must be so long, hard and slick
Beyoncé said , Don't kid yourself honey
Its because you shoot so quick .

Women .
Even in dreams they have to have the last word.

Premium Member Tell It In Prose

To the lust of wine, he has been judiciously celibate
exactly the mark of four decades is a reason to go gaga
taking the road of this pleasure, even if it is once in a lifetime
he sees five percent on a bottle so attractive but it’s actually twenty five
walloping in the mood he asks for number two but it’s already four
on his way to heaven he thinks but under the street light he walks
on his doorstep he sees an energetic Miss Minaj
not at all knowing it is tired, sweaty grandma
takes the nearby perfume for an unusual spray
loh and behold it is an insecticide
searches with the slider, for frequency on the stereo
Lord, it’s the gas turner he operates
sounds of no signal he converts from the aggressive fleeing gas
impossibility embraces his mind
from the observation of his non-living room
is that the cat on a miniskirt? Or his wife oiled around her body with ketchup?
he speaks of tasting a dog’s breast milk
and inscribing a permanent tattoo on his tongue
right in his front, Rihanna twerks
he grabs with all pleasure but with arms around the TV
on his way back to the kitchen with a cigarette
party screams he hears but are disturbing panics
just half a minute ago, smelly diffusion hints on a fishy joke
lights the match stick in a room full of gas
or consciousness to come back with nothing to remember
lies in the midst of standing angels
as the nurses care with so much anxiety and pity
wrapped all round by white sheets of healing
he blames others for not undoing his carelessness.

Crossroads

There are battles I doubt I can fight
Though winning them would give me great delight
Although my dreams and ideas are bright
I still ponder over my plight

Different thoughts emanate in my mind
Lost opportunities I doubt I will ever find
My ignorance of everything has made me blind
I never wished to face hardships of this kind

Memories of my mistakes haunt me
Mountain of problems confront me
Sickness of all sorts attack me
While confusion and doubt overpower me

ooh,but I know that by trusting and putting God to the test
He will locate me,whether I am in the North or in the west
And with him I will continue to pray and hope for the best
Believing that in the end,my heart will have eternal rest.

poem is inspired by the monster by Eminem ft rihanna

Paradise Too Short

at first glance my heart leapt within me
i felt a sensation i never once fell victim
you stole my heart and i had to get it back

i unleashed upon you the gift of my mouthpiece
even Shakespeare would have given me my due
with the eyes of a lamb you invited me
to share the beauty spot of you gorgeous heart

you came knocking at my door step
at the eleventh hour my ark angel
made my life a blossom of Lillis
once in a lifetime i experienced heaven on earth

      exchanging rings inspirited our love
beautiful like diamonds Rihanna did say
our love proved spherical for it had no end
till that day you left without a word

under the wreck of a monstrous machine
you left me for the land of the leals
for even the gods adored you more than i
    and the paradise curtens fell
    a paradise too short indeed

Flashback

Was a romance for the books. Didn't care about the looks. Maybe a little old school but yea my heart she did be took. By the way that she could cook. And the way her body shook. And the way that she got on top and made it straighter than a rook. She was the wisest on the seen. Quick to hustle. Get that green. But little did I know it was a play behind the scenes. While I'm planning up our wedding you're out doing anything... Legs never closing. Dumped for a brother with a little more ching. Silly grown girl, money isn't everything. But that just shows that you'd rather be a rich man's whore than a poor man's queen. But I got another girl that will appreciate. The acts of love that I demonstrate. She holds me down. Keeps me right. And she's always happy love her every night. But I can't say that it is easy. Heck, it's anything from breezy. But what separates her from you is that she told me that she needs me. And to think I really loved you. Never put no one above you. But you were thottin and fire crotchin. I should've wore a glove dude. You were purely acting out. Now you're sitting with a pout. Cuz you're a flashback now. (Inspired by eminem ft Rihanna- love the way you lie.)

Rihanna takes a bath in two scoops of ice-cream
Gaga fans made a lots of wind as Pink rosy on the cheeks
wrapped in a linceul twirled a rope

revere the faithful for a smile
as no limo here to ride a fiat
the found almost a fiacre
coming from Cuba I do not surf the past

open the keys and lime the way to pies for every one
JZ my subway I M the ride
exchange of blues
wear the hood.

Good Guy

Once my tears and blood dry
I'll transform into the good guy
I'll live with a smile like I've never seen love die
I'll start to be more careful with associates
I'll no longer say or think of anything inappropriate
Whatever comes my way I'll shoulder it
I won't drink as much
I'll overcome my Suicidal thoughts and won't think of such
I'll find another way to cope when my ink is stuck
And I'm placed with writers block
Sitting with my pad without a single idea and most of my night is lost
I'll get back up and start again without looking back at the height I dropped
I'll take Depression on in the boxing ring if you can get Mike Tyson to watch
They won't lend me an ear, So I'll take a leaf from Tyson's book and I'm biting it off
I only said that for shock value, hopefully you got quite a shock
Isn't it funny how I'm out of ink and they're writing me off
But there's a reason they're not getting book deals
Why would I have an issue with someone doubting me, when I don't even know how hugs feel
I took a lot of punches from Depression and my blood spilled
Back when I didn't think I could heal
Dragged through a mud field
No protection because I didn't have a good shield
Sat alone in the darkest room
Crying about my scars and wounds
But now I know they're part of my story and show that I survived
Even if you don't like the flow when I write
You know that I'm right
Pick your weapon of choice, but I have a loaded pen, so you won't want to show to the fight
As a kid I was scared of the dark, until I learned to grow into the night
I plan to win so I always grow and adapt to overcome my worst fears
There's a lot of hurt here
a lot of words shared
I'll adapt to the place you don't need to adjust the room
Hello Rihanna, I have a crush on you
sorry I thought I'd use a line to shoot my shot, but don't worry I'll shut up soon
I'm now over my tears and my blood's dried
So I'll go back to being the good guy

Aduke Onidiri

I love it when you laugh and smile,
At the same time, in my
         delight I get sad.
Because I wish I could be the only
man while other men are animals
  Àdùk?´, you're so beautiful
        with those marks.
Don't be bothered about the city girls,
you got tribal marks not devil marks.

When you laugh I see a rihanna,
When you now decide to keep it
low I see a Michele Obama.
Àdùk?´ Onídìrí, follow me to the city,
I'll open a fashion hub for you
     at the riverside of lekki.
?ni bíi ?kàn mi, please help
       patch my broken ribs.

         Àdùk?´ èmi ?w?n
 When we've a daughter, we'll
 name her Ar?`wà èkó (Lagos)
With your hands on her hair,
beautifulness will be a course
          in the university.
            Àdùk?´, dùk?´,
Shake those beads on your waist
for me and let's dance to Àpàlà
         like sány?`rì ?`k?là.

Vodka Is the Devil

Vodka is the devil, and right now I'm in hell
I drank too much last night it isn't hard to tell
Come out for a few drinks, my friends said it would be fun
Soon after, a drink turned into me telling this girl I just met she might be the one

It never goes well when your drinks start mixing
I become someone else once the brandy kicks in
One minute I was sending my ex a horny text
The next minute I was telling this girl in the club I want her to be my next

Now I'm drinking a few cans of strongbow
So the short journey home will soon turn into me going down the wrong roads
But you never care about going the wrong way
Because you're listening to your favourite song play

You're mumbling your words and trying to speak in a polite manner
But now girls who look like Susan Boyle start to look like Rihanna
So you shoot your shot and don't mind if it goes wrong or right
Because the drink means you're in for the longest night

Enjoy your life and have fun and please don't take this poem wrong
But can someone tell Ariana Grande that in my arms is where she should belong
We're all young once and drink too much at times
If you're an inexperienced drinker then please eat before you drink and you will be fine

I was drunk when I wrote this if you couldn't tell
Most my poetry talks about depression but lately I feel well
This was wrote as a joke and meant in a funny way
So I hope no one is offended by what I had to say

Mama's Here

Mama's here, little one.
Even when she's not.
Her arms are wrapped around you,
She loves you a lot.

Mama's always by your side,
Even when she can't talk.
When you're at your best.
And even when you're at your worst.

Kai loves you.
Mama loves you.
Nothing could be more true,
Than the words I speak when I'm with you.

I want to be there for you.
I want to lift you up.
Someday, we'll meet.
Someday, I will.

I'll press butterfly kisses all over your face.
I'll sqwoosh your cheeks and hug you close.
I'll cuddle with you all the time.
I'll never ever leave your side.

One day, we'll meet.
Then, you'll see.
Mama's here. Mama's with you.
She'll never ever leave.

When Tigger can't bounce,
And Pooh hates honey.
When Peter Pan can't fly,
And Mater isn't funny.

That's when I'll stop loving you,
That's when I'll move on.

When Patton can't smile,
And Roman drops his sword and runs.
When Logan can't find a solution,
And doesn't even try.
When Virgil gives up on the others,
And becomes the bad guy.

That's when I'll leave you.
When the world ends.
Only then,
Will I not be your friend.

I may not be good at everything,
Or even good for you.
But I swear on my life,
I could never stop loving you.

Not you.
Not Alex.
Not Al or Kat.
Not Kayden.
Not Katie.
Not Rory or Batts.
Not Megan.
Not Joan.
Not Cassie or Jen.
Not Marie.
Not Zoe.
Not Olivia or Em.
Not Emma.
Not Beet.
Not Caelum or Kali.
Not Cas.
Mot Gabby.
Not Serena or Bailey.
Not Xavier.
Not Rihanna.
Not Natasha or Mac.
Not even Malaya.
Not even Sonnae.

Not even if there isn't a person that loves me back.

I could never stop loving,
All the people in my life.
Past or present,
Even if they weren't nice.

Mama always loves you.
She'll never move on.
Mama won't ever stop loving,
Even if everyone else is gone.

Mama loves you.
Your highs and your lows.
Kai loves you.
They'll protect you from all your foes.

Mama's always here, little one.
Even when she's not.
Her arms are wrapped around you.

  She loves you a lot.
