Best Respects Poems

Premium Member When a Person Respects You Potd

Wow! Please do count yourself
exceedingly blessed!
You need not meet their requisites,
to pass a friendship test.

They allow you a fragrant, flowered
leeway.
It’s not the ice cold, rock hard,
pavement of “their”way!

Respect means giving your sister
or brother, expressive room.
Not sealing them like death, in a “my
ideas only, allowed” tomb.

Friends, we seem to think, are there for
us to hurt?
You will feel their absence terribly, when
the friendship bubble, you burst!

another deep breath
    of suffocating air
passes the lump in my throat...
            I offer a Kleenex
                   to the woman beside me

Our Last Respects

Our Last Respects...

One final day we pay our dues
As the ferryman comes to take us away
No more fear of what’s to come
Just a sea of tears with the rising sun

Your family and friends are with you
To see you on your way
Another part of the journey has begun
As you clear a path for all of us that will follow

One by one the words they flow
Expressions of love reliving joy through sorrow
Grief sown from disbelief at the loss of a loved one
Hope drawn from the strength of the faithful

We close our eyes in solemn prayer
Unspoken thoughts for the hearts that are broken
Emptiness that with time will slowly find closure
As one door is closed another will always be opened

My Respects

A second has passed,
Now a minute has gone.
Is it going too fast?
It seems so long.

A few days, he was fine.
A few days, no-one cried.
How weird it seems; Time.
That and life flashes through eyes.

I cry for the family,
I cry for the friends.
I cry for them all,
Those here till the end.

I didn't know him,
However, sadness grows.
He had his whole life,
But him... he didn't know.

Respects To Be Paid

I feel we all have some respects we should undoubtedly pay.
For sacrifices made to ensure the life we all have today.
When we think of heros, we often think of war.
But easily forget those who's battles happen next door.

It's with pride that I honor a woman with a heart made of gold.
As well as my duty that her story be told.
My family was caught up in the first set of waves.
Of a virus that turned health Into illness and graves.

At a young age my sister contracted HIV.
Being her gay brother some said it should have been me.
It struck fear in all hearts and made the strongest men wince.
And people that we thought would be there, we haven't seen
 since.

But my sister was not one to ever back down.
Always up for the fight just ask around town.
But with this illness came a unique kind of dual.
One with whispers and pointing and extreme ridicule.

But she stayed strong and showed them what it meant to be tough.
Far past the point where anyone one else would gave cried out "Enough"
The war on her body lasted to year number seven.
Before God showed some mercy and took her to heaven.

There was a point when she could have just treated her pain
But she knew that through her sufferings hope for others was gained
And what she did saved lives even a chance to live well
A woman they will never know paid for their life through her hell

So to all of us that have Been effected by AIDS
Pay some respects and remember the price that was paid

Paying Respects

The casket’s draped in purple,
Which is what the crowd expects,
As they inch up in the queue at last
To pay their last respects.

They’ve waited there for hours
For a minute with the Queen,
To bow or curtsy or salute,
A touching, tender scene.

Each somber guard stands by
With no expression on his face
And silence fills Westminster Hall
For mourners to embrace.

Across the pond, we watch in awe,
For who knows if or when
We’ll ever see the likes
Of such a tribute come again.

In Many Respects

That was a golden time of my life,
When I and my friend play a lot,
Nobody has complain for children,
Sun grows and dies we never care.

Very few police comes on a round,
Very simple, on a bike and had a stick,
People’s crime was only theft or
They make illegal alcohol to sell.

When police raided people feels shame,
Their dignity and honour was respect,
A Crime committed person hears all,
And cooperates to change himself.

Although people were poor but loves,
That was only their living base,
They believe to borrow things,
They ran to share if anyone falls sick.

When police got a motorcycle and gun,
Crime also gets changed criminal people,
And police shared their benefit to rob,
Both hands to befool the system.

If they arrest a criminal honour a rank.
If they don’t arrest them get bribery,
When police got a gun criminals got stain,
When police got stain criminals got Bomb.

In many respects the corrupt police,
Never cares for murders and rapes,
When someone was killed in village,
Police enjoys a day as a celebration.

Premium Member She Respects Me

“She doesn’t respect anyone.”
“No, she doesn’t.”
“She is horrible,” the lunchroom teachers agreed.
“She respects me,” I said.
Dead silence.
“That doesn’t count,” one replied.
I already knew this.

Premium Member Patience

Unworthy one cent coins
Make up the consuming world
Unworthy coarse sand under your feet
Makes up the wonderful garden
Unworthy sweating manual workers
Make up the manpower
Unworthy short minutes
Make up the precious lifetime
Unworthy strenuous struggling
Makes up the patience to win
Everyone and everything will have their values
And may deserve
our respects or attentions

Before we walked in, before we arrived,
The place had been tidy and neat,
Everything was washed and polished and fresh,
In this beautifully odorous suite,

We felt at home, relaxed, out of sight,
To use everything that was there,
The showers and towels, benches and sinks,
And a place to hang up what we wear,

Then the game was spectacular, furious and fast,
We gave all that we could have been,
And by the end, we felt prouder than proud,
Proud though we failed to win,

So we returned to our room, refreshing ourselves,
Then cleaned for our dignified host,
We polished it spotless, with a beautiful scent,
And left them a “Thanks Russia” note.

Premium Member Offered my respects

what could i do
but stop and let pass
the funeral procession
for a beloved horse
who lived a life
fraught with nobility
