It’s Jubilee tea at my auntie’s care home
Aunt Phyllis’s hair could do with a comb
But she doesn’t mind and puts on her hat
The queen won’t be there’s no need to flap

The table is laden with all sorts of food
Ada burps loudly she’s so blinking rude
The cucumber sandwich crusts are cut off
My hair won’t stay curly I hear Mable scoff!

Gerald’s secreted cream scones on his lap
I’d not touch them now he’s a dirty old chap
There’s a heated debate is it scone or scon
I do not comment as they have all gone!

Old Edgar demands jelly and ice cream
It’s not on the menu he begins to scream
So he gets everyone to bang their tea cups
They’re acting like kids and not like grown ups

Along comes the matron she says ‘Dearie me,
You are spoiling our Platinum jubilee tea’
Edgar gives her some lip - he’s adept at verbals
He shout’s ‘Matron you just remind me of Goebbels’

Matron is livid, she turns puce in the face
Edgar’s sent to his room, as he’s in disgrace
He is reprimanded for causing such a scene
At the jubilee party for our wonderful Queen.

Things We Think

Things We Think

He said, “Every man is busy earning money.”
She said, “Is there anything more important than love?”
He said, “Is there anything more important than sex?”
She said, “I think we all just fear death.”
He said, “It’s like the Cats in the Cradle we just need more time.”
She said, “I think we really need more space.”

He moved out to a place with more space.
She soon did not have enough money.
She had to leave behind the house and love.
Once they vowed nothing would do them part not even death.
She never learned the aborted child’s sex.
Biologically he still had more time.

He was ambitious, indoctrinated into the ascent of money.
She worked her fingers to the bone, until her death.
He afforded local expensive sex.
She began to view local nature as expansive space.
He did not connect space and time.
She knew what connected it all was love.

In time he found a new love.
In love, she found time.
He equated good passion with good sex.
She found the emerald walls of nature the best space.
He loved the crisp or dirty, rumpled, green of money.
Homeless— she was reprimanded in the rain “You’ll catch your death!”

it's been said,

The root of all evil is money.
Money can’t buy you love.
Nothing is certain but taxes and death.
I don’t know the question, but the answer is sex.
I need my space.
All we have is time.

I’ve learned to give love and learned that is love.
I’ve learned one’s time is worth more than one’s money.
I’ve learned a small space in nature explains all infinite space.
I’ve learned that gender should not be judged by one’s sex.
I’ve learned that empathy slows time.
I’ve learned from the leaves of grass there is no death.

He is more than his money and she is more than her sex.
In death we find love.
In space there exists time.

The Minions

A versifier indeed, crowding the tiny city dwellers,
above the rest flying with the strongest propeller.

In day he disperses many tiny pieces of torn up paper,
at night he sits on his throne as an intimidating dictator.

The little people do as told following the confused story teller,
after all, they were treated as undesirable city dwellers.

If they don't run past the finish line they get reprimanded,
If only they knew following him was never recommended.

Early afternoon he leads them to a walk in his park,
little does he know when running they wish to disembark.

The dwellers know better than to follow him in his maze,
the more they learn of him, the more they feel crazed.

Some stay and some go, but no matter what the decision,
there is so much conflict, the town turned into a division.

Separated qualifications in regards to frugal injustice,
There may be more than one leader, a dedicated accomplice.

Beneath the caves and in front of the chair of the monarch,
he leaves trails of empty promises leading into his landmark.

Finally the city dwellers learned that it's time to be righteous,
and the look upon their faces was stunning and priceless.

The old versifier ended up living to an old age of grey,
he wondered why in the end they didn't want to obey.

A Chinese lad was at table dawdling with his pork and rice.
This upset his mama-san who reprimanded him in a trice!
"Clean your plate! Children in America are starving, son!"
And she continued to berate him - her tirade had only begun!

"Your papa-san has a great job while dads in America are on the dole.
Our economy is booming while that of America is lagging, on the whole!
Papa makes good money to provide Americans with the things they need.
You should be very thankful for the jobs they send here, yes indeed!"

"Kids in America can't get a job even with a college education,
But, son, America will provide you with a job in any old vocation!
This is the land of opportunity, my boy, thanks to American capitalists!
You must appreciate all they have done for us Chinese communists!"

"Not so long ago your father and I didn't have a yuan to our name.
Now we have a house and brand new car - life will never be the same!
So I don't want to hear any of your sass or fiddling with your food.
Thanks to the generous Americans, they have lifted our nation's mood!"

"I want you to clean your plate and grow strong to follow in your dad's shoes.
Uncle Sam needs you to make TVs and shirts or anything else they choose.
No more lip! Clean your plate! I want to see those chopsticks flying!
Think about the kids in America who'll got to bed tonight hungry and crying!"

Premium Member Five Tomatoes Away

Five Tomatoes Away

Five tomatoes away
from devastation.
The bullies bully me.
They give big breaks to
corporations-While taking
unfair shares from citizens
and cutting down on
pensions and "Social Security".
I have no security!

The Arabs store on
the corner is
selling wine, beer and
cigarettes.
Sending their tax free
money home to
fight against our boys.
His taxes are
deferred, and when
time comes to pay
The business is now
switched into his cousin’s name.

One tomato is two dollars...
so I am five tomatoes away,
and I haven't had a salad today. I
am being raped, while they
are getting breaks.

I get reprimanded
severely, they are always
Shaking my tree.
I said "I have no money"
I am not living here tax free.
The levy goes
into effect on the
thirtieth day, so
I budget sparingly,
and have had no
salad today;

I am five tomatoes
away, from homelessness
and devastation;
I wish I had a break like the big
corporations

One day before
I leave this planet I hope to
find dignity.
And eat a Salad everyday
and live life healthily
never again
having to worry
about being
Five Tomatoes away.

Getting old around
here is horrible;
My senior years
unpleasant....
I paid my dues to the
I.R.S., now they
want another present.

I hope to survive
another day, while
they tax my pension;
And so, I pray....
let me eat
another salad, in spite
of being ....
Five Tomatoes Away!
So yes, I've had no tomatoes,
I've had no tomatoes today.!

Premium Member The Chaos in My Heart

I don't know of anyone who's been successful
in an attempt to capture the encumbrance
of a love pledged and then withdrawn,
nor how to heal a heart from its fallibility.

So, I'm left wondering...
when did the shallow waters of intense love
become too deep to tread?
When did the waves thrash so powerfully
that I was unable to keep my head above them?
I was drowning in the chaos churning in my heart.

Tearful were my eyes in a state of mourning.
Weeping while bereaved and casting a silent plea.
Desperate in the need to escape the captive prison
when my heart was found guilty of gullibility.

Imprisoned by love's bars, unable to take flight,
I was the swan who had lost her mate,
without hope of ever wanting to fly again.
Broken vows are like wounded wings,
and therein was my heart's pitiable plight.
Is it never to be relieved of the agonizing ache?

In gloom of anguish, I gasped one last breath
before crossing the chasm between love and hate.
Too late to beseech my heart for help.
Spurned, it was lamenting over love's death.

Disconsolate, emotions in disarray,
I held a pressed rose he'd lovingly offered,
crushed it in my hand as if I were the flower.
With the power of penance, I reprimanded myself
for having trusted in the pledge of love.

I sacrificed the withered petals,
tossed them on the wind's wayward whims.
Niggled by the feeling of emptiness and loss,
I felt as if I'd just laid them on my own grave.

Casting Couch

How frantic my antics when I'm in a panic-
my thoughts alone could sink the Titanic!
Hassled, frazzled- razz-madazzled
when I feel so well and Manic!

Taken for granted, a Life enchanted,
and gifts of Art, by God implanted.
Confuses the Muses with makeshift excuses-
my trembling Mind, thus reprimanded!

For sloth, for laze, for lost ambition;
for languid lax, these poor conditions!
I feel punctured at this juncture-
Overwhelmed by such attrition...

Discerning my yearning, but also learning
that life affords but one audition.

Not Even For a Mouse

My cats have decided on this blustery cold morn,
To hide under the covers and stay oh so warm.

The wind keeps howling, making them shake,
While under the covers cozy it does make.

Moving may not be an option for me
For as I stretch the closer they be.

I tried to sneak out real quiet you see,
Buy they caught on quick and reprimanded me.

We all know who rules this house
And today we're not moving even for a mouse.

School and My Future

My future happiness depended upon school,
They’re understanding of religious older parents,
Them constraining them with supervision,
So that I could have autonomy in my garments.

I mean, my parents let me wear what I liked,
But were unspeakably forceful poignantly,
Regarding who was going to dress and shower me:
Women, not men who could interact with me perfectly.

I wasn’t asking for all male carers,
Just one or two out of maybe five,
And I even offered to employ male nurses,
Rather than just anybody alive.

But my mum was disgusted at my suggestion,
Said it turned her stomach and made her ill,
Posited that I was not in my right mind,
Said that I made her queasy and gave her a chill.

The school’s social services seemed traditional,
Just like their toilet facilities, old and outdated;
The social worker had white, permed curly hair,
And so for parent disputes you could be slated.

So I never got the help I required and needed,
For my first care package at Glasgow University,
So I suffered from rejection, shortness and selfishness,
From my carers who were supposed to offer identity.

The wardens made it better for me every day,
Reprimanded them for disrespect and impoliteness,
But I never even imagined that voluntary carers,
Could suffice for my own future astuteness.

It upset my whole life, the schools neglect and indifference,
When I think that living success could have been sorted out,
My personal dignity and freedom could have been secured,
With a bit of determination and secular, atheistic liberal clout.

School is really just about your future,
It claims it by its very definition,
And the whole child should be taken and loved,
Not just his or her abilities with cognition.

Premium Member Desmond Tutu Born 7th October 1931 Died 26th December 2021

The iconic Desmond Tutu died, impish humor, feisty Archbishop, so revered,
As we lay him to rest, may angels embrace him, a great loss, much endeared,
A Nobel Prize winner, spoke out about Afrikaners, how they tyrannically reigned,
Reprimanded black political elite, tributes poured in globally, now he's mourned.

Premium Member The Veranda Floor

Once I sat on our veranda with my sister, sweet Miranda
And the forbidden goodies we had purchased at the store.
While I nibble, neatly snapping, suddenly there comes a flapping
Of an apron at the door. My dear mother is once more
Catching us in our misdoing while her favor we are losing
Standing at veranda door.

Frowning, pointing at the floor at the shells we had been dropping,
Cracking peanuts without stopping, we had purchased at the store.
"Pick them up," our mother uttered. ""You are lucky they're not buttered.
They would be forever more staining my veranda floor.
We could see she was revolted so my sister and I bolted
To our mama at the door.

Neither of us dared to amble, bump each other as we scramble
To pick up the shells from off the floor, for our mom who we adore.
Vowing not to buy them anymore, unshelled peanuts from the store.
Ready to be reprimanded, though we've done what she commanded,
We stand still to be admonished, knowing well we should be punished
For the shells upon the floor.

The Chieftains Wrath

Once i lived with an uncle in a sleepy coastal town
who had a very beautiful house help from upcountry
now my male cousin Kiki desired to have a relationship
with our beautiful house help who was very lovely

One day Kiki arrives home alone he tries his advances
she flatly rejects him he then tries harder than its allowed
with no success.. later that night he is summoned by my uncle
Kiki tries best to defend himself....but is severely reprimanded

Now my Chieftain uncle is given to punishment and for Kiki
our Kiki is ordered to spend the night in the Chicken house..
not the European pet chickens these are real African chicken
complete with a rooster who scratches Kiki mercilessly

Come morning Kiki is full of scratches but he has learnt his lesson
he apologizes like his life depends on it and high tails out of the house
Safari my chieftains uncle we all love him but is know to be really hard
when it comes to meting out punishment and our Kiki had it coming

Criminal

Nomad in strange lands,
Doing it with your hands,
Not reprimanded dead,
But given an actor’s head.

Time to do, breadth and space,
So you don’t leave your trace,
Because your actions are private,
Since you are not an ape primate.

Caged within freedom and jail,
In there, but your jail is your wail;
The two realities are conjoined,
In an experience you’ve coined.

Knowing that right and good,
Exist potentially within your hood,
And that you’re free in your actions,
Of theft and burglary subtractions.

Although you feel it’s your height,
To take that which is your right,
You understand you are wrong,
That to your good friend you belong.

So you resolve every time,
To stop your criminality mime,
And admit to your friend malice,
And take the righteousness chalice.

Cutting Cheese

Cutting Cheese

There once was a bureaucrat
Whose body made sounds where he sat
It would be underhanded
Were he reprimanded
Without a complete list of stats

So his supervisor kept up a log
Of each time he let out a fog
It’s not really my fault
He said I can’t halt
I’ve a medical skewed apologue

But with 60 blasts all written down
In 17 days, the guy found
The charges would stick
He must do something quick
To end his rear end making sound

The Social Security Administration
Has certainly added to my consternation
They recorded each stink
Which just makes me think
They have set the low bar for this nation

So I beg you please
If you must cut the cheese
Don’t cut the cheese while at work
For the unions have rules
Gave your bosses the tools
To publically call out your quirk

Another true story I learned about on the web
