Premium Member Treasure In Adversity

i am no longer
lost in the labyrinth
of your twisted mentality

i kiss the lips of freedom

once you drove
me insane in the brain
now stubborn stains wash away

i will never bleed again

as i liberate my mind
from your shackles of sorrow
my suppressed spirit soars

watch me fly

i collect every
shattered shard of hope
place them in my heart

my faith heals each crack

for all the tongues silenced
all the hearts broken
i fail to hate you

i thank you for the lessons

pangs of passion
refuel a desire to dream
as flames rekindle

no rain can extinguish

yesterday i fell
like sunset in a storm
today i am a tropical sunrise

there is treasure in adversity

Tale of a Former Black Sheep

For years I wore
your shame as my own
and lived unknown
in terror of being seen
like a leper
self-quarantined
intrinsically unclean

Your neglect
became to me
my insignificance
undeserving of your glance

Your abuse
became to me
my fault and utter blame
my soiled but rightful name

Your abandonment
to me
was my unworthiness
unfit and valueless

'Til this layered shame became
a camouflaging cloak
wrapped about with care
disguising me as if
I wasn't even there

How I avoided them
my friends so true
for they could plainly see
the agony in me
and I couldn't control
it radiating through

Yet butterflies won't stay bound
in crippling cocoons
integrity impugned
by wings that cannot fly-
and I at last have found
the answer to my wounds
in exposing you
and all your lies

You were cruel-
I do matter

You were guilty-
I am not to blame

You were unfit-
I am worthy

You nearly destroyed me-
But I overcame

Now my only dread is
of leaving this world
as un-notably as I came
as invisibly as I lived
to be known only
by others
as unredeemed as
you thought me to be-
No! the truth
will set me free...

I humbly give
this cloak to you
it was yours to wear
not mine to share

I'm through

I'm through

I'm through.

Premium Member In Need of a Banquet

He gave me only crumbs to feed my soul
A famished heart in need, I asked for more
I could not please him for he was not whole
His heart was hers and he had locked that door

I longed to eat of banquet of his love
The night grew long and in my heart an ache
I hid my face and cried to God above
And prayed that by his grace I would not wake

A little kiss, a quick caress, a sigh
The rest was left for dreams to try to fill
The fervent plea of heart he did deny
My hope of passion’s fullness lingers still

Yet bounty of love’s banquet I must taste
Another one will feed me what I crave
My lavish heart like crumbs I will not waste
For I must feast on love before the grave

Footnote:
Today I read a poem by Jan Allison entitled, Free Bird, in which she wrote of
being thrown some crumbs. My response to her: “We all need love and
affection. Crumbs must turn to banquet soon.” Thus, this poem was born. ?
Inspiration works in mysterious ways. Thanks Jan for the seed! Give Jan's
poem a read. It is sweet.

Now Your Love, Dwells There In Hellish And Lost Dreams

Deep the cold at foot of our abandoned bed
where roses wilt, praying early frost to die
Green-eyed monster laughing loud to be fed
your new "friends" gladly providing the lie
No pleasure in revealing this most foul deed
no solace in showing past pain in new light
Was too late once you took on the bad seed
turning once bright day into darkest night

What of fantastic past joys we had both shared
morns wrapped in warm bodies refusing to rise
In darkness, my soul and heart was ensnared
took years to recover from that surprise.

Now your love, dwells there in hellish and lost dreams
My spirit glows in relief, in love's true streams.

Premium Member Parachute

My mind is open
It has to be
Yet find myself tangled
In a tree

The wind
It wrestles
The safety line
As I hang with the birds
A silent wind chime

The breeze of emotion
Blows this way and that
The sun on my skin..
Then the rain caveat

My silky voice trembles
I just shouldn't be here
"The fates have designed you
This landing place, dear"

The view is amazing
Every moment you fall
Yet get trapped in the elements
Every hail-storm and squall

When the branches entangle
They can claw and then tear
So come back to enfold me
Crease me neatly with care

I just want to return
To that whistling door
The propellor is cut back
And we step-out once more

For this view is amazing
But is there to be shared
I'm designed to be open
Not land-locked, ensnared

Yes our minds can be unfurled
It's the best we can be
The leap from the sky
What it takes to feel free

Premium Member Destiny's Final Reminder

How the compass of time gradually deceives their seasons growing cold--
Redhead locks and manly hair transform into gray pepper gray
That in the bites of winter hard and arrogant, night's joy ebb
As a couple succumb to a matrimony of discontent and burden, stale--
Forgetting a destiny's pledge sacred which could affirm contain
A lifetime supposedly wrapped in rosy twilight … its final. jubilant glides .

No, one hour’s delay can stall the rapture of new ventures. The woman asks,
"Shall we , for better or worse, dance the moon with hearts aflame like before?"

Eight Lines Of Fate, When You Wonder If It Is Too Late

Restoration

For a long time,
I had a darkness looming over me
From the inside

Shameful to speak about
Neither is it proud

Caused by a broken and a used heart
I thought it would forever stain me
No rain could ever wash away its haunt

And then you came
And the darkness became lame

The shadows in me began to banish
Like a resurrection of the heart
It once was, but with your presence it began to vanish

You redeemed my purity
And brought back the pieces in me that shattered
Now i think ive experienced true love...
Finally i see clearly

After-Math

Like tornadoes passed
flood waters receded
and hurricanes stilled
he was gone-
the 'worst was over'
and somehow
supposedly
life got right up
and carried on

So they said, in time
I’d get better
I would forget it happened at all
but they didn’t see
the damage in me
my soul left twisted
mangled and mauled

Whispers of past pain
mindless manipulation
echoing off my walls
of alienation
shrouded
in shadows of shame-

Cruel words curling
around my brain
endlessly repeating
his refrain
“worth-less”
“use-less”
“less”
“less”
“less”

Subtracting from
the sum of me
until there's nothing
left of me
and no way- how
to fill this space

Like aftermath
of violent storm
he’s left debris
and chaos behind
and blown away
the best of me

Roof and siding
torn off exposing
the brittle timbers
and broken framing
of years spent blaming
he was the cross
I silently bore
and now that I am
finally free
I’m at a loss
to imagine more

What it would look like
or be made of-
a home for a windblown
wandering waif-
place of comfort
kindness and healing
where I’d be whole
happy and safe?

Do Not Allow a Volatile Relationship Ruin Your Life (Abuse)

Do not allow a volatile relationship ruin your life

Written By Dean Masciarelli

Do not allow a volatile relationship ruin your life

Get out while you can; and listen to what I am saying

Before it causes you to go through  way to much strife;

And a whole hell of a lot of heart break and pain;

Just by living with someone who has an evil twin;

And even though that part of them; only comes out every now and then;

It’s far better for you to walk away right now; while you still can;

And I know that it is a difficult lesson; to have to learn on your own;

But if you do not listen to me right now; some where down
the line;
you could be the one; who could end up losing your life.

Do You Really Believe That God Loves You

Do You Really Believe That God Loves You?

When it comes to God, many choose to “avoid him.”
It seems as if they don’t want to “be around him.”

There’s an increase of a “state and God separation.”
And it’s causing a lot of wickedness all over our nation!

Many have chosen to do unspeakable acts of various kinds.
As their lives get caught in very reprobate minds!

Even the family unit is often torn apart and confused.
As many lives are being plundered and abused!

Many churches seem afraid to preach God’s holiness!
As many are living a life of bondage and wickedness!

The courts try to dictate to us when we can and can’t pray!
As they grapple with the political correctness of the day!

No wonder why many Americans are confused and lost!
Our nation, without God, is reaping the cost!

There's a God! He sent his son, because he LOVES you!
He’s done everything he can! And wants to be with YOU!

Won’t you take the time to come, and receive him!
Won’t you give him your life? And really believe him?

He offers eternal love, peace and contentment!
Won’t you give him, your heart’s commitment?

His abundance of love is powerful and evident!
You can be changed by his mighty presence!

Thank you God! For the work you’re going to do!
By your grace, we can all be made brand new!

Triggers

the punch of the first note
the sound of your name
the sight of the number
invokes an ocean of emotion

the tickle of a memory
the hint of a smile tugging lips
the ache of a heart
what remains is just reminiscing

the last word
the last laugh
the last time

marks passing bisection of our worlds
the hourglass grains sliding away
the slipping grasp on affection
the tapering conversation
history repeats itself

but the consecutive will never be the same

Change My Past

If there ever was a way I could easily go back in time,
I may change a few things here and maybe more there,
only a few crucial moments do enter my questioning mind,
one is of myself, I would’ve wished to take much better care.

During my mid-twenties I fell into the fire pit of addiction,
it led me down a rough path I would never like to admit,
caused stress on myself and family with a soul full of affliction,
the sad crime of hating my pitiful self I did commit.

I would rewind that exact moment I decided to take my first pill,
sorted out my sadness and anxiety in a much different way,
been better with finances and on time pay all my annoying bills,
maybe today my assets wouldn’t be in such disastrous disarray.

Oh, to have been able to redirect my attitude towards family,
stuck with the loved ones who were honest and on my side,
listened when given advice from the hearts of those who love me,
chosen much better people in whom which I should confide.

Sure, I do have dreams of changing things that happened in my past,
the greatest is trying harder to save my sister from committing suicide,
I lived to need her and breathed to help her; it all happened so fast,
I would give her one, no two more kisses expressing I’m on her side.

I sit here and think, as I write about what has already gone and came,
and in a fleeting moment I realize something about my sleepless night,
maybe...just maybe, I would keep my inevitable outcome the same,
for these things have inspired me with my intense passion to write.

Childish Behavior Keeps Our Love In Circles

To achieve the best results
We need to act like adults
Talking about things we did
And not screaming little kids
Shouting and throwing a tantrum
That seems to be our love anthem
Not hearing a word we say
There has to be another way
To discuss and solve these issues
Our hearts are being so misused
Every time we have a fight
It comes down to we recite
The same debate time and again
It's far to long since we've been
Listening with great intent
It seems we are quite content
This situations on a cycle
Round and round for quite a while
Never stopping always busy
Making both of our heads dizzy
Getting evil and more vicious
This loves no longer delicious
It turned bitter and absurd
Something in both of us stirred
Anger and hatred we see
There's no more ability
To talk and work out what happened
Our love is totally flattened
Stomped out by our stupid pride
And the hurt way deep inside

My Love Treasure

spacing out I never did
Now I feel like a kid
Daydreaming with thoughts of pleasure
Since a gift of hidden treasure
Glanced into my lonely eyes
Now no matter how I try
My mind always goes back to you
And I do not have a clue
How I ever lived before
Now my hearts begging for more
Longing for a simple touch
Never have I felt so much
Joy building up way inside
Forgetting all the tears I've cried
Hurt and sorrow fading fast
You are helping me get past
Torture I have always known
From loves that have never grown
Into anything except
Surging pain which slowly crept
Its way into every inch
Of a heart that's squeezed and pinched
With no relief anywhere
Betting no love--only fear
And rejection would be mine
Never knowing love so kind
Eventually could come my way
Here until my dying day

Loud Regret

Noisy noise,
brain drowning in Static
voices pounding on my head
uncontrollable panic.
Feeling manic;
no air to breath, no sleep.
eyes glazed all dead inside,
need to shrivel up and weep.
Reached dead end,
are we friends?
Do I even relate
To anything you say?
The act you play
you demonstrate
we do not coordinate.
I'm fed up-drowning in this mess up,
lets rewind the clock and shut this down
I spy the game you spun and it seems like
none of us have won.
