Best Reawakened Poems
There it is again,
that feeling so ingrained
every time you say my name;
as if time has never existed
and every meeting we had was twisted
by destiny preordained;
with every first breath taken
as if we just met, reawakened.
A depth of memory recalls closeup
that tingling seething to speedup
where heartbeat can never keep up,
as if beating, living and breathing
would never be enough repeating
to keep in time and space so fleeting
in the constancy of you and me treasured
forever bound, love forever unmeasured.

I’ve been deserted and forsaken,
relinquished and reawakened.
Renounced and completely vacated,
living a life intensely complicated.
In the throes of woes, I’m saturated.
No more time of sincere elation,
now only a lonely sensation.
To this pain shall I surrender?
I used to touch a hand so tender.
Now I’m an abdicated offender.
I’ve been abandoned, left to die,
no one said I must comply.
Though I’ve been pushed aside
there’s nowhere I can hide.
I’m chained up, arms tied.
Full of repudiation and rejection,
I lost life’s balanced connection.
I fear the worst has come to take
my one and only mistake.
From this nightmare I must awake.
Thrown over the reverie’s shore,
taken away from those I adore.
Disowned and insanely combusted
from all those that I trusted.
Now I’m the one mistrusted.
So I must renounce and give in.
I crave atonement for my sin.
Turn myself over to cruel intentions,
death shall come with circumvention.
I pray God comes with intervention.
Fear arrives as I’m the one who runs,
though life is the one who abandons.

Subtle feelings burst
Inside her supple breast
Creating overpowering longing
A thirst that had her wanting
Something only he could give her
Silence fell between them
When they found themselves alone
As his hand brushed hers gently
Struggling with a need to grasp it
She yearned for his touch against her
Soft hopes beckoned breathlessly
Intimacy captured on her thoughts
Leaving her with a craving only he could cure
With those twinkling eyes and smiling heart
Who taught her that his was worthy of her desire
Sensitive gestures of delight
Colored her in hues of insight
Whispering joy through her soul
When he found that her heart was an open door
Hungering for his tender embrace and warm touch
Soothing sighs linger on the air
Aching for the intimacy that is a fire
Blazing through her thoughts – a need
Reawakened by the most tender French kiss
Imploring her senses to fall praises across his lips
Stunned by the splendor of such a sensation
Anna and the French kiss brought alive inside her
Stirrings that linger, thrill and ignite
Affection so real it feels like it is thriving
Dancing in shadows, bringing love into the light

Stirred
Reawakened
Feverish memories
In unison hearts pulsating
With torrid intensity
Of eons ago
A lifetime
Lost in a universe
Of cravings ablaze
Steamy and wild
The days of our youth
A world unto themselves
Devoured

The quiet between us settles into light,
a hush that weighs more than any word ever spoken
Your breath leans closer as if to speak my name.
Yet nothing breaks the air, no sound is heard.
A shaking pause:
time loosens its embrace,
the fading light leans in,
holding our hearts in place,
I feel a promise hover on my lips,
a secret tide that sways then slowly slips.
No language superior to this quiet vow,
no music sweeter than the moment now.
The silence bends then deepens into bliss.
The world reawakened within one tender kiss.
And in that silence even stars confess
love grows deepest, when it speaks no excess

Lyric
Our family came together again yesterday, (which is the reason for this poem)
and, as is our tradition, we took a family portrait before everyone headed home.
Why do we take so many family portraits….it’s quite simple to explain…
because no matter how many family portraits we take…no two portraits are the same.
Every time our family walks out and then back in through our front door
we’ve all changed a little bit…from the portrait we took before.
Sometimes those changes are obvious…the photo captures a singular time and space
new clothes, new glasses, new hairstyles…is that another wrinkle on my face?
Often, however, the changes are more subtle and only our heart is reawakened…
to the metamorphosis each family member has experienced
since the last portrait was taken.
Which is why I pause as I look at each new family portrait…pausing is a must…
It gives my eyes a chance to see the smiles…the changes…
and my heart time to adjust.
I imagine the reason we take so many family portraits
so many times throughout the year
is to remind everyone that whatever changes we go through…
your family’s still here.
Which is why when our family comes together…
even for a little while….
there will be a moment…
sometime in the evening….
when they’ll be asked to SMILE!

Adeste Fidelis
confused innocents of limbo,
the unbaptized babies,
ignorant of nonbelief,
denied the Divine countenance.
What of them today? Still floating?
Explain that. Do I believe in the leader of
dark angels all muscle and teeth?
Father O’Neil and Sister Michael
say it’s a matter of faith,
a leap across clear minded
waters to the shore of
loaves of fishes, water to wine,
life reawakened from death.
Heaven awaits us all,
since before I was born.
since the last among us breathes;
it is peace; it flows energy.
My faith, such as it is, lies in
the virtue of life, procreation,
human kindness, sky and water.
I know of the sun and the moon.
Not of God and Satan.

The end of the Pier was shrouded in mist
the Shadows we cast were defining,
We plighted our troth, and then we kissed,
Neath a full orbed moon that was shining,
We walked hand in hand to the end of the pier,
The ghosts of our past reawakened our fear,
We had to be strong, for ourselves and each other,
Whether we could, we were about to discover.
The mist started lifting and in the moonlight
a blanket of bats had just taken flight,
then in a moment the bats were not there,
they had completely dissipated into thin air.
We both had worked on the Pier in the past,
It had long since closed, when we were there last,
Stoker wrote, Whitby, was were the vampires came,
But this abandoned pier received them just the same.
As we approached the door, that led into the pier,
From the frightened flight of bats, one still was here,
A sudden metamorphosis, took place within the frame,
And a vampire stood before us, I knew him, and his name.
Vladimir, I said to him, I once fought by your side,
I am your nemesis and fate, from me you cannot hide,
For I am here, to stop your cheer, and the evil that is you.
he gave me quite an evil look, deciding what to do.
I shined my torch upon his face,
Remembering how we loved this place,
The fair was now in disrepair,
But seeing Vladimir, we did not care,
The place had always been such fun,
especially when blessed by a warm summer sun,
Vladimir was an amusement, placed within the fair,
whose main role it was, to frighten and to scare,
The pier had no power, so we could not turn him on,
But the memory of what happened, has certainly not gone,
To animate the mannequin, required a coin to go,
Then Vladimir would start, his ghoulish vampire show.
He would give an evil cackling laugh, that shred your nerves apart,
He certainly was quite frightening, and not for the faint of heart.
I suppose it was a funny place for us to reminisce,
But when in love there are memories, you do not want to miss.
I think we now are over, the need to see the pier,
Generally, we remember it, over a glass of beer,
I suppose we might go back one day and have a laugh at Vlad,
Although the old Piers crumbling, it’s really rather sad.

Fairy-tale Rock
Poor sad little lass, hadn’t got a clue, poor sad little lass, if she only knew
What treasures lie beyond the walls of broken lives, when castles fall,
Of all the wonders she would find to rock her world and blow her mind,
The undiscovered world beneath the superficial layers, heaped
With trappings left from times gone by, when life was cruel but tears were dry,
Now in the rubble she will find a spark of love for all mankind,
And from this spark new embers burn, her disembodied soul returns
To wash away all damage caused by prison walls, where life lay paused,
All contact lost twixt it and she, replaced by fear and crushed by need.
But like a butterfly she’ll bloom from deep within life’s thick cocoon,
A transformation there to see, from what there was, to what will be.
An awesome Phoenix now will rise, her flaming beauty fills the skies,
Her zest for life once more restored, she’ll soar, new wonders to explore,
New heights to reach and sights to view, she’ll leave a trail achieved by few.
But is this real or yet a dream, could her soul have really been
So healed and reawakened?
Watch Karma’s goodness will become, life’s guiding light and shining sun
Allied with Destiny she’ll prove that life is not controlled by you
But love and hope will lift the veil -Yes life can be a fairy-tale.

Transitioning to a state of indifference to you
Fading out of desperation
Something in me has been reawakened
That I had thought long snuffed out
She makes me feel something other than guilty
Takes me away from overthinking
So forgive me, if my smiles no longer necessitate
Thinking of you

The body, in all its wonders and might, is still such a fragile thing.
We mustn't forget the ever impending mortality,
In order to prize each given day.
Likewise, we must not forget the ever present immortality of our true beings.
Our souls, our spirits, are only residential in the vessels of bodies.
The human brain clouds our actualization of supremacy.
It dilutes truth. It is the cause of sadness towards death, pain in temporary loss,
unjust fates of our loved ones.
It is unreasonable.
We must not forget that we are more than memories and emotions,
For, Death is not a sentence, but a cycle of reawakened enlightenment.
Just as life is but a mere drive towards a greater destination-
A stamp upon each being as they ascend into the vast beyonds-
Such is everlasting peace and happiness in knowing that all will rejoice in the union of long lost souls.

MY REMINDER
Roy Mokoena
Silence at night, shadows in the dark streets.
The blue skies lit by the twinkling silver-stars.
Noiseless, only the gentle ticks of the clock.
Alone in the beachfront, I admired the roll of the waves in the North Sea, it created a good music,
the magnificent composition with emotive lyrics.
Pure and moderately soft, so was the sound.
It raised my ears, I bent down (chin to the chest)
my eyes lowered with tears, I cried my lungs out.
Eye-fluids rolled down and down my toenails,
My feet plunged in wetland, trapped in the mud,
unable to walk but able to move, I was helpless.
With my wings widely spread, I shouted a plea.
You came to my rescue, responded to my call.
Your presence, good riddance to my loneliness.
Your support reawakened me, Im now living.
Your consolation cured my wounds, I can walk.
I recovered from the feeling of being lost,
The Le good life in me, you planted it.
The smile you brought, hath reshaped my face!
You made me love again- You're my reminder!

Whispers of the bells chiming
romancing in a warm night outing
like the tranquil feeling of wine so sweet
the gentleness of two hearts reconciling
the eyes that sparkled stood shimmering
two half a life times frozen in memory
like a beautiful caterpillar evolving
love once struck now revolving
the keys within two hearts unlocked
reuniting desires reawakening
doors opening a forbidden love
images within the dreams
now filling the warmth within me
the memories now seen before me
be still my breathless heart
strange the breeze that's drowning
yet the air so subtle around me
arms enfold so lovingly
time finally stood still
unlike age of 40 past years
every breath taken hearts explode
sensuous lips reawakened
mind shifting between memories
the past moons and the sun's reality
shrinking in the past of young love
rekindling a time there once was
gestures of happiness on aged faces
mesmerizing in love compromising
the fire that still resides
recollecting days that towered with love
to the hollow years that followed
gentle still the hands that touched the heart
remembering the embrace
rekindled we the days
reawakening two hearts
reconciling distance apart
reuniting in our desires
revealing fire and water
the reunion to a new beginning........
