Autumn's desires

Your amber-umber eyes, penetrate me
as saffron sun sets on faces, ashen
Your suspicious mind raves with jealousy
as pumpkin winds chill our summers passion
your love transitions to winter's fashion.

Fire and ice keep flowing through your bold veins
Wild imaginations portend cold rains.

I dream of your ruby-red crimson lips
my mind won't rest until you have returned
the touches from your ginger fingertips
we can rebuild the bridges that have burned,
then, we will laugh at all the lessons learned

I think of your flowing cinnamon hair
mem'ries of our home, and you being there.

Premium Member Let's Tango

Fragrance night, spicy
Breeze tangoes near tomorrow
to green world stage raves
Howling blues stir lilac dark
Starlight, whistling in the park

Clouds keep on drifting
in times of vanishing moon
It's nature's wild dance
a sultry summer tango
when super moon turns mango

Premium Member Christmas Down Under

Now Christmas in July seems crazy - I’m sure I hear you say
That has got to be plain silly - but this is the Aussie way
Christmas is in December you insist it’s a well-known fact
But in this land way ‘Down Under’ our seasons are ‘out of whack’

July is Aussie winter while in December it's scorching hot
Those Three Wise Men may know the reason but then again maybe not!
A time for relaxing with family and friends spreading the good cheer
Sip a glass of Lilly Pilli wine or toast with a VB beer

Frosty Christmas in December - for some it seems so right
Tinsel and baubles festooned - Oh what a delightful sight
Presents around the Christmas tree decked with lights and holly
Cheery little Santa’s look so happy and so jolly

In December air-cons turned cold mimicking our winter in July
When Santa rode his sleigh down south to Oz coming from the land up high
With a Ho Ho Ho he now powers his jet ski - riding mighty waves
He coasts straight onto our golden sands joining parting people and raves

Remember my friends it is a time filled with Peace and Joy
To commemorate the Special Birth of a Baby Boy

Worry not friends we don’t miss out on all that wintry good cheer
For you see folks here in OZ - Christmas always comes twice a year

Author’s Note:
'Christmas in July', which is also known as Yulefest or Yuletide in Australia. July is generally the coldest month of winter, so celebrations emulate the atmosphere of the northern hemisphere winter. So that means hearty food like roasts, and warm drinks in front of fireplaces and bonfires. Don’t be alarmed folks! – Just for the record, here in Oz we have a second helping and do celebrate Christmas on 25th December with the rest of the world.

~‘out of whack’ - An Aussie term for ‘Out of Sync’~

Synopsis from the composer of the song and clip -
"The Aussie Christmas Song" by Batesy. Published on Dec 18, 2012

‘One Christmas eve I was singing carols about dashing through the snow & a white Christmas and thought "Aussies don't have snow at Christmas" and it was also 30 degrees outside, so The Aussie Christmas Song was born, it's about sun, sand, backyard cricket, pavlova, and a cold beer - Ah!! - Sing along!!!’

Premium Member Walking On Faith

Gazing deep into my eyes, into the dark
she offers flowers on threads upon my hands
for coins to keep her warm through the night,
wondering where else to go from here
torn slippers walking along bare streets,
past 1am with no exact home to go.
I ask her to buy some food, some soup;
the 6 year-old girl shakes an unkempt head
counting thin bills, dreaming of school
without reservation or taste of fear;
and her face smiles at the comfort
of confiding that a good teacher
she raves to be, someday
leaving me alone and discontent,
 my faith in life she dares
as I cup the tiny buds sprawling
on the ground like trickles of prayer,
a hallowed whimper to the gods
for one heroine who longs for calmer stars.

Premium Member Nature's Wild Child

Rain’s riot banishes peace of mind day,
Deluge damning dumps devious rage wet.
Storm, summer rain's wild child pours on display;
Lightning fierce, firing fitful since sunset,
Bass booming thundercracks dishing dismay,
Reverb atmospheric quaking dire threat.

Tantrum, summer's sobs throbs at window’s pain--
That this hellish brat exists, blackened bane!

Strobes’ amperage sizzling slow-motion fear
As brute force rants with spate’s tongue-lashing raves.
Kiss of death’s electric surge stalks me here,
Sky-splitting rumbling roars rock shocked airwaves.
Combustion spontaneous in juiced air,
Summer spawned tempest's temper misbehaves!

Menace.., nightmare slow swirls away turtle’s pace--
I feel color returning to pale face.

His Piffle of Drivel

An ogre is seldom awakened by poetic lines
but he shakes his fists trying to slander others.
I laugh at his desperate attempts at writing.
Delighting in his flawed efforts at metaphors.

On all fours this ogre creeps around like a spider
Oh what distorted webs he dares to weave...
when he deceives those who do not know
his penchant for whining and absurd cries of wolf.

He aspires to climb to the peak of a mountain
but fails miserably with each witless haiku.
Do not fear in the false bravado of the daft beast,
but feast on his raves as he digs his own grave.

Imagery is lost among his gibberish blabber...
a rather nondescript description of such bluster.
His script is not clever, thought he thinks it is so.
He doesn't scare me or those who know... whatever

Inanity is the work of such a bootlicking fool...
a tool who yammers thinking he impresses others,
but a jester dances for those who seek a false throne.
Does that ring with a piffle of drivel to anyone but me?

Clair De Lune

Governess of endless flowing tides
Ancient Orb that mystifies

Dusty ochre, bright hot white
Cycling and glowing with borrowed light
Cratered desolate dusty reflector,
Yet invoking your own haunting specter

Revealing all when heavily laden
Ebony cloaking when waning maiden
Luminous shafts caress and bathe
The supple skin of lover’s raves

Wondrous wishing talisman bold
Wide-eyed children cup and hold
Your gleaming form within outstretched hands
All tiny grains of billowing sand

Haunting compass; true and right
For countless seaman through the night
Ageless past and endless tomorrows
Stalwart celestial illuminations borrowed

Rest well within your firmament high
From darkest sable to lapis lazuli
Grace us again in coming night
With opaque splashes
Of
Perfect
Moonlight

Portrait of a Black Man

His granite form against blue skies
Rippling on the bulging eye, wild waves
Of muscles the netting cloud defies
Reason in concrete, his pride raves
In self glory of athleticism, what a gem
Hard and shadowed without a diadem.

I know that man, I lived inside him
Long ago, slurping applause like a child
Incomplete in potrait, morally dim
About the treasures I often defiled.
That man is just a screen of muscled skin
A pampered fear that won't give in.

He will not cry, because he was taught
It's wrong for boys to show emotions
His destiny by a web of lies once caught
Leaves him lonely, old aspirations
Become wrinkled raisins in the callous sun
Manhood and wood subterfuge the pun.

Tired of being told he cannot become
From school to dull signs of no vacancy
I hears the sirens penning his freedom
He looked for himself, found no legacy
In history or family achievement that will
Stand up to the praise of gatekeepers ill.

He feeds his hungry urges into children
Fatherless because his woman must think
She cannot balance her budget with heaven
And for welfare cheque he's o'er the brink
Thrown, used, demonized, discarded, weak
Now, no virile glory left in love to seek.

He turns to her helpless in his helplessness
Angry with the impotence of history
Mute before her need to have forgiveness
The saddled statue slouches into misery.
You know him too, the black man, proned
Against pale paperbag of evening, stoned.

In Africa he was redeemed by mother, queen
When things fall apart, in America his old
Structures uprooted, he cannot be weaned
Of the nurture that never existed. The mold
Upon his life is history, and only the lover
Carrying the cross can be another redeemer.

Look at him like a child asleep after his spawn
Of delapidated family and garrots of dream
Only ego keeps muscle bulging under the brawn
The heart is mute, and pride wil not scream
For pain though like a white cataract it drowns
Him. How still the victim 'fore the victor frowns!

My Good Friend

My Good Friend never argues,
and at all times displays the truth;
 My Good Friend has been with me now,
since early in my youth.

 My Good Friend listens to my stories'
and never judges me;
 My Good Friend lets me be myself,
just as I am supposed to be.

 My Good Friend has witnessed my turmoil,
and watched me shed my tears;
 My Good Friend has let me express myself,
when no one else would hear.

 My Good Friend listens to my rants and raves,
and in my outbursts has consoled me;
 My Good Friend I will cherish always,
for my good friend lets me be me.

 My Good Friend has been my therapist,
and my savior now and then;
 My Good Friend does'nt speak at all,
for my Good Friend is my pen.

Tremolo Torrents – 12-20-23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tremolo Torrents
Thundering fat raindrops fall,
Driven deluge in wild squalls,
Gossamer drops stream in waves
Quivering mists pour like raves,
Frenzies of clear crystal pearls
Hang from boughs in flawless swirls
Downpours shiver in rain flows
Swallow remnants of rainbows,
Tremolo thunder prepares
Hot ripples through static air
As torrents pelt thirsty ground
Sheer rain staccatos resound
Each drop reflects lightning’s fire,
Pivots wildly with desire,
Tempest’s fury rides the storm
Wind-swept raindrops leap free form.
Mind Traveler Passion
   Mind Traveler Passion
with kisses from her knee to hip,
trembling fingers gently slip,
and damp is the night,
a sweet erotic sight,
when his tongue begins to dip,
she trembles with delight.
And there upon the mist
The homely figure raves
On melting wax of passion
Two lovers taking ration   ?
2 lovers in the haze,
interlocked with heat,
thrusting like the crazed,
till hardness knows defeat,
conciousness erased:)
In Living
In living there is light
tearing at a soul to keep
tender moments tight
into every crevice, deep
Bringing forth love and hope
where all her goodness lies
dwelling in that which is beautiful
drenching us with sunny skies
In living there is dark
bleeding through the nights
where troubles find their way
draping on to fear and fright
Here we find our pain and grief
raining down, continued waves
clouding up our skies
holding on to all that raves
in living we must trust
it's not just one or the other
in darkness there's a guiding light;
the shadows loom —
                     a wicked lies
but still,
        in the gloom of it all
                     the flowers bloom
Premium Member Are You Hearing and Smelling Bs
Down on his hands and knees is Frump
But which end is his Rump!
Both ends are putting out so much hot air
To guess which, I wouldn’t dare
Making his stink smell good is an art.
But not hard to do when your audience isn’t smart
He changes ends so fast and well
From which end it comes, is hard to tell
To put your head in a daze
He puts it out from both ends to create a haze
If he gets caught for what he did
He passes the buck or tells a fib
If it smells bad or goes the wrong way
It was done by the Democrats, he will say
I hear all his raves and rants
Go home and change your pants
When he’s pinned down he turns on the bull
Just wait, the FBI will see whose diaper is full
Premium Member Sea Pebbles
Gardens of sea pebbles
glistening 'neath the moon,
shining their finest glow,
ride the tide as it slinks
away in ebbing flow.
Gardens of sea pebbles,
bright with seafloor colors,
mingle with calm sea life
that hug nocturnal shores
beside Poseidon's wife.
Gardens of sea pebbles
bead chains of jewelry
sparkling with waning waves
that cleanses their design
in gems that garner raves.
Gardens of sea pebbles
vibrant as the youthful
Goddess Aphrodite.
Exquisite adornments
gifted by Amphitrite.
