Protected

This place it is protected
It's all that we have left
You've built on every other space
Of green fields we're bereft

This one last space is ours now
You cannot have it back
We need a place to run and play
Or have a picnic snack

This place it is protected
Please keep off the grass
Your diggers and your big machines
We shall not let them pass

Come see our peaceful meadow
Now please just go away
Leave it to the children
As one last place to play

rock to rock
       small sips

                  red winged blackbird takes

leaning towards the sun,
Iris protects....

seed to seed
      small sips

                  bluegill takes

below the surface,
shadows protect....

bar to bar
      small sips
                  humans take

battered and bruised,
memories protect....

Gracious guardians are solely on me.
God protects me; no need to fright.
And though my eyes are unable to see,
Gracious guardians are solely on me.
Splendid guards are honed merely on me.
God's grace is and will always be right.
Gracious guardians are solely on me.
God protects me; no need to fright.

The Protected One
Written: by Tom Wright

Blocked from my memory, a segment of time,
For Cardiac Arrest was then taking its toll.
From above was music, to my ears, sublime,
But God was not hasty in claiming my soul.

The curtains of heaven parted just for me,
No other could discern God’s angelic choir.
Christian people were praying and did agree,
God was in control though it appeared dire.

Doctors have told me that I shouldn’t be here,
That a miracle, that day, happened in my life.
While my wife and others were sated with fear,
God, the great physician, directed the knife.

As I now look back at recent fields I’ve plowed,
I’m told that my surviving was at eight percent.
While physically battered my spirit was unbowed,
For God was not ready for my Heavenly ascent.

Since, Doctors and workers often refer to me,
As a Fighter, The Protected One, or Miracle Man;
But I’m only the vehicle that God chose by decree,
And all things will transpire pursuant to His plan.

spent a total of 2 months in hospital with 3 surgeries. back surgery and on Dec 29th survived the widow maker and 3 days later had sudden cardiac arrest.

Protected Literary Soul

Restrained flow of ink expressed from a dusty pen,
to the faded paper creased like a wave in an angry sea,
tucked inside a tattered notebook,
closed until another bittersweet day when the golden sun will rise.
Minds eye reflects,
to the thoughts that travel through endless days,
until the pen reconnects with the delighted literary soul.

Covered and Protected

Covered and Protected
By Lawrence M Nunez

Muhammad Ali told his daughter,
Everything God made valuable
in the world is covered and hard to get to.

 Where do you find diamonds?
 Deep down in the ground,
covered and protected.

 Where do you find pearls?
Deep down at the bottom of the ocean,
in a beautiful shell, covered up and protected.

 Where do you find gold?
Way down in the mine,
with layers of rocks, covered and protected.

“Is not Your body sacred?
You’re far more precious
than diamonds, pearls and even gold

You should be covered too.”
Muhammad Ali told his daughter,
In the book “more than a hero”

I join him saying “cover up”
You are more precious than the Angels in heaven
by his blood you are covered and protected.

Protected Sex

They eloped guided by the moonlit night in hot pursuit
of change love passion desire embrace of communion
Homeless they were apart from the tattered old banger
and a journey unfolding from paradise no seat belts
no hazard lights reclined unrestricted in seminal flow

A wild ride ensued by the side of the ground-breaking
road ahead when skin melted into skin and piquant lava
grapes from heaven and oysters intermingled their fuse
lovers of the Universe and the moment showing the way
as destiny’s mandala and Karma had it Nelson Mandela’s

residence was just down the passage of time and place a
revolution peaceful resolution guarding sparks quakes and
delirious shivers in the pushing and pull of reaching the top
peaks summits made headway directed in mind souls and
physical essence sourced and sprang open flooding the ocean

When luminous sparks from torches shone in their eyes
romance was guarded exploded by dazzling torches and
the smile of security dressed in uniform’s treasure box
Kalashnikovs in hand to defend and protect should danger
ensue but the soldiers passed on from the orbit of peace

Making love on the road of freedom firing home and away
into one giant ecstatic rapture unfolding cascades tidal
motion of a new life beginning cleared the air from under
the steaming dashboard and signposts led to new meaning
of hungry frenzied fever and protected sex in a very new light

Protected By An Angel

There is a light that shines,
  in the darkest of places.
There is a fire that burns,
  through the long rainy nights.
I have lived through the darkest of shadows.
I have seen the most tragic of sights!

There was a time that it chewed me,
  And nearly swallowed me whole!
I have been close to the hells,
  that will swallow your soul!

  I say I've sunk deeper,
  then the bottom of bottom.
  Then an angel found me.
I was lucky I caught him!

  He then pulled me out,
from the dark pits of hell.
  He was my beautiful angel...
I was under his heavenly spell.

  Still to this day,
  my angel fights alongside me.
  Without him in my life
  I don't know where I'd be.

  He is forever my love,
  and forever I'm his!
  My angel sent from above,
changing my life to pure bliss.

I admire you, for fighting with me!
  Your strength makes me strong
And your belief helps me see

  Maybe one day,
you'll truly know what you've done.
  Your beautiful soul,
Helped me shine like the sun!

  From hell to heaven,
  from torcher to bliss!
  Forever I'm grateful,
  for more then just this!

Premium Member Protected Back In 1962

Pete and I were gob smacked by these saviors in October of sixty-two.
Women in our apartment swiftly efficiently measured our heads too.
We both wanted to know why, but back in the sixties, kids did not ask.
The women were gluing and shaping with vigor, an arduous task

Kids were sent to our kitchen to get their heads measured and noted.
Any idea? We whispered. All of us were afraid to be quoted.
This was back in the day when adults were the only ones in charge.
To ask them anything was daunting, not done, considered a barge.

When women were finished, we each had a helmet on our little head.
Pete and his argyle sweater made me grin, a bow-tied alien instead.
What is happening? He frowned at me and shook his head ‘no’.
During my childhood, kids did not dare ask, argue, or blow.

Spied this photograph in Grandma Kay's album and I had to laugh.
Helmets was supposed to save us from nuclear fallout and the riff raff.
These women engineers were intense, and eager to save us though.
Endearing memory to this day. Their love for us a nostalgic glow.

Last night I heard a horn scream.
I ran to my window and witnessed this scene.
I could see a man on a horse in the shadow of night.
Then the rider unmounted and was surrounded by light.

From the light I was blinded and I could no longer see.
There was no one around, except for him and me.
Then the horse ran off, and the screaming horn stopped.
I regained my vision, then to my knees I dropped.

I saw myself as a child, sitting just outside.
I could also see this rider, kneeling right by my side.
I could feel his pain and see tears on his cheek.
I tried to call out, but I could not speak.

His arm was around me as I continued to watch.
There was a cross on his shoulder with blood in every notch.
When I was a child and felt fear to the bone.
I could now see he was there and never left me alone.

God stays with his children as they wander this earth.
He is there at the end, and at the moment of birth.
I now understand and no longer feel flawed.
I am loved and protected, by my savior and God!

Storm clouds drifting across a dark sky
Torrential rains destroying lives
Waters drowning memories
I fall on my knees with
a heartfelt prayer
Suddenly I
see the sun
glad I

Protected In Pain

protected I sit alone
lacking the comfort of love
no one to soothe my isolation
surviving an angry crowd
i want to scream out loud
where is my equal
someone strong in spirit
able to find love under the pain
pain from slights of countless people
love not gone
just covered up tight
out in the open
what others see
not the real me
pain that has a life of it's own
taking my laughter
eating away at my joy
leaving me protected and alone

My Heart Is Carefully Protected

Keeping up appearances
Is what it's been like ever since
You left me without a warning
Leaving my heart hurt and storming
Trust just faded from inside
Tears kept falling from my eyes
Faithfulness I thought you knew
Until the one day when you threw
All these good years down the drain
Just to cause me useless pain
It took a long time to find
The person who would change my mind
Asking to take it really slow
So I had a chance to know
That the words filling my head
Was something that you truly meant
When hard times tried to bring us down
We stood tough and then we found
There's nothing we can not weather
If both our hearts work together
