making complete sense

Progression Digression

We forge ahead little by little
We accelerate the moderninities of life
We call it progress...

but what are we progressing towards?
      to do what is right?
        to an easier life?
...

Progression Pt3: a Brief Summary of Black History
Rosa Parks, sit proud,
Head high with no retreat,
Do not be forced to the back
This seat is more than just a seat,
Let them drag you to the jail
Mistreatment all the world can see,
Spirits stir, blood boils,
N.A.A.C.P.

Dr. King, Dr. King!
Tell the world about your dream,
Preach of togetherness
as...

Sunshine doth improve 'er
Magic in the air this day
A new spring but few hours away
Winter’s exiles repatriating
Flora and fauna be celebrating...

Progression of Peaceful Thoughts
A word.
A word without a voice.
A word without a voice has no power.
A word without a voice has no power, but can be powerful.

To speak.
To speak without a purpose.
To speak without a purpose can be damaging.
To speak without a purpose can be damaging to a...

Progression of a Night Out
Sobriety
Lucid self-possession.
Clear-headed, composed, steadied
Abstention, temperance; Carouser, lush
Staggering, tottering, gibbering.
Intoxicated high.
Drunkenness...

Progression Pt2: a Brief Summary of Black History
Revolution! Revolution!
Is the cry of the war
Civil conflict to combat
Fight for freedom once more,
Taking bullets for the north
We will overtake the south,
Gettysburg reaches hearts
by way of word of mouth,

Keep fighting, keep talking,
Lincoln makes a declaration,
Freedom is a document
Emancipation Proclamation,
Yell Glory Hallelujah
History is being made,
Yet illogical...

Once upon along ago
Pioneers sailed over ocean flows
To start anew in a different world
Where centuries later new flags unfurled

The above appears reasonable to me
But it's the happenings to the Apache and Cree
The Westward Movement was inevitable
Murderous chaos as the indigenous fell

It's so easy to sit...

subtle satin
nature’s aid to man’s creation,
subtle satin
sleepless nights of lavender spin
yet embracing mediation
our love of procreation,
subtle satin.

Progression To Happiness
One hundred first dates,
seventy five second dates,
fifty retakes,
twenty five out takes,
all to equal,
one mistake,
then,
one forever keepsake....

A Soul's Progression
Silently nightfall approached followed by a BLOOD RED MOON.
Rumors had it, nights like these barely existed.
It was the 21st of June,
and the Sun fought that day creating summers existence.

After Life, is there death?
Like after summer, it's fall, then winter.
Do souls escape mortality?
Or stay forever...

Progression
Eradicate the
Dark Disciple and
Forgo clipping my wings.

Naturally light and
Weightless
I traverse this
Medium quite smoothly.

Unavoidable,
Attended to and
Never misled.

This is my hope.

I Have No Face
I have no face to claim
My face as a child
Lost it in my teenage
As the beach is lost to the sea

My teenage face
Lost it in my adulthood
As the dunes in a wind

My adult face
Lost to the old age
Burned off like a candle

And my old age...

gone back to nature
plants overtaking the streets
nothing to wager
no fannies in too small seats
no more televised repeats

nothing new to learn
knowledge without a future
only time to burn
always idle computers
no new wounds needing sutures

airplanes are all still
no one's borders being crossed
no steaks on the grill
no more...
