Until Then
Dawn has arrived and I hardly knew it.
Sitting and writing, I thought right through it.
Feelings about God and the need for peace,
Obsessed my soul, brought hope; pure love released.
I wish that I could wave a magic wand.
And bring to all mankind a loving bond.
Causing the world to find that peace filled place.
Where thoughts of wealth and greed will be displaced.
Alas, my heart takes flight away from fate.
And binds itself to peacefulness this date.
To fantasies of kingdoms far away
Where leaders feel my thoughts and start to pray.
I dream the most miraculous of all.
Begins when they upon their knees do fall.
Then, pray to deity that rules their soul.
And find that God by many names is called.
Then soon, love sparkles-- works its magic lull.
Evil thoughts and hatred vanish, null.
Peace and adoration upon men fall.
Oh, gift from God in heaven to us all.
Peace upon the earth sings, knowing at last.
That only by forgiving evils past--
And putting down war arms by trusting God.
Righteous love can procure the earth we trod.
But, only man, with God can win this race.
When death by wars does retribution face.
And cause the world to find that peace filled place.
Where thoughts of wealth and greed have been displaced.
Around the world when evil has been ceased.
The earth will live a thousand years of peace.
Until then, sadness will greet each new dawn.
And soldiers who survive will be war’s pawn….

I sat beneath a Veteran-oak,
In awe of His strength—
Here was a solid spirit!
Sympathy you get from Willow,
But stiff upper-lip from old soldiers,
With forged bark —
His limbs flexed, cut, rippled against the wind…
No chinks in this warrior-wood…
“Divide and Conquer!”
Then I thought of my Father—
A cook at the end of the war—The Big One!
You know the One I mean, as if there are small ones—
When the commanders were through eating
He was instructed to toss the leftovers
From the belch of plates—
Trashcans were in the alley,
The steel that seems intrinsic to battles
In one form or another—
The hungry German children
Would sneak pass the guards
And line-up;
My father would sneak pass his superiors
And his honor
To dispense carefully wrapped scraps…
Well, soon the line was out into the street
As my father was compelled to seek food
From wherever he could steal, beg or barter
To procure—This brought attention—the cat-out-of-the-bag,
And all hell down on my father,
As the captain screamed: Gus, these are the enemy (the children in the alley),
What in God’s Name are you doing?
He was forced to stop—no Court Marshal though…
I looked up again at the old oak,
Through the snarled branches
Deep into the staunch soldier,
Where I spied a nest
In a small, compact fork—
Having a canopy of extra leaves
For shade and shelter from the wind—
I smiled—hum…
His bark reddened, but like my father, no apology from this weathered soldier…
Heedless of rejection
standard smile ever so sweet,
childhood void of substance
youth lost in everlasting grief.
It is not from choice to serve
the world’s ancient art,
although somewhat obliging
never, with an amorous heart.
Learning curves to encounter
street wise evolves the trick,
cloned to procure all-comers
remembered the wall, to build of solid brick.
Within the glow of hopeful themes
upon the road side where they reside,
some locked in obscure dreams
under a solitary lamp light.
Whilst amidst the affluent of their craft
a class of high distinction,
content to work the street of pure gold
ne’er cast an eye on those that bear
the bar-code of extinction.
So soon a whiter shade of pale
for alas a fallen Angel,
forgotten now her love was her fame
for society is unforgiving, spreads the word
across the social media of shame.

A selfish man protects his family
like a guard,he contemplates the welfare
of his beloved family members, endures pain happily
THEY ARE A HAPPY FAMILY
A self obsessed labor focuses
on his work, pays no heed to others
accomplish task, within a given time, to grab bonus
HIS WORK IS FLAWLESS
A selfish teacher persuades his students
to assimilate the tough chapters, and make them
fathom the subject, to gain self esteem and improvement
STUDENTS BECOME KNOWLEDGABLE
A selfish politician indoctrinates his followers
by his bewitching words to procure their full support
and intentionally resolve their problem to retain his power
THE COUNTRY FLOURISHES
The selfish soldiers possess patriotism,sustain
in the inconsistent weathers, tolerate rain and heat
to fortify their nation, never allow the opponents to win
PEOPLE ARE PROTECTED
We are all inherently selfish,no doubt in that
Showing concern for our family,friends,pets,nation,
But,in fact we need to become the selfish human beings
to take care of the beautiful planet we live, to halt
the wars between the countries, rationing the food
with our fellow beings and to share resources
After all,we all belong to one planet. We are already the selfish men, politicians, soldiers and why don't we become selfish human beings?
This is my hundredth poem.

Unsure our world is now, and folks have fear.
From rules imposed on us we dare not veer.
Some say the days foretold by John the Seer
(when chaos soon will reign) are nearly here.
I dread the horrors that might next appear.
Our govenments are puppets; what they do
is what the “powers that be” tell them to.
Lies today and half-truths are nothing new.
An accident this was? You think that’s true?
It’s my belief this all was by design -
an evil plot to cause the world’s decline.
The masterminds of it are filthy swine!
World domination they wish to procure.
I wouldn’t be surprised they had the cure!
The worst is yet to come, most probably.
All we can do is cling to what is dear:
our friends and family; our freedoms too.
Be watchful; there will be more than one sign.
Be faithful; of at least one thing I’m sure:
The good - one day - from earth’s woes shall be free.

Over the Rhone,
web of light sewn;
eyes of night’s wonder,
God’s own plunder.
Reflections mirror
the heaven’s splendor.
A magical river,
love it delivers.
A walk on the banks,
amid glowing ranks;
romantic attractions,
vibrant abstractions.
Vincent’s emotions,
magnificent potions.
Vibrant allure,
a must to procure.
Accepting Pain
By Dane Smith-Johnsen
Accepting pains,
I fain life becomes troublesome.
In Sun or rain
As days of great helplessness come.
Praying remains,
Sustain hope that hurts shall soon go.
Forestall complaints.
Watch faith with great endurance grow.
Go not insane
Nor spend thoughts on self-pities lure.
And be not vain,
Dwell not on aches without a cure.
Jesus the Christ,
Pain and death without protest bore.
Kingly gifts, myrrh
Scores of sins roared upon Christ's door.
God's Begotten
Willing, complaint-less, crucified.
A mortal man
Suffered pain and shamefully died.
Soon pain shall pass.
Living truths prepared souls procure.
God judges last.
Trusts, take comfort as pains endure.

(Dedicated to all that suffer with the
mental and physical ills of mortality-
Never give up!)
Let me speak of great love:
"Love!" no consonant can procure--
No vowel can lyrically form
Into lips and eyes so fair,
Dare I use the word divine
When proclaiming mine?
Yes! My love is all of these--
And adjectives numerous more
Than leaves,
And flakes it takes to white
The vast countryside,
And stars one counts when ribbons
Of stars unfold and
The dazzle of the heart cries
Out: "No other will do, no beat
Of life will pursue unless
There is you!"
I breathe a whisper love
Then shout,
My love exploding out--
Comes forth, such amorous rage--
Beyond poems,
A heart poured out
Running off page:
Not as buds--slowly, eloquently define,
Or as grapes aromatically refine,
But as stormy sea
Rushes to shore
My love thrust is this
And more…
No--my love has no face--
For this is not her grace--
A body such as she
Yet have I to find
For all are in my mind--
For all reveal some special way
What alone a throbbing heart
Can say--
What alone heaven
Has yet to share,
What alone
Mortal hearts have yet to bare--
For such love as this
If for others I would deem
One must never have
But always dream….
Emotions soaring into the skies
As the footsteps echo off the balconies
The crow's accompany my soul's flight
I imagine them to be your eyes
Carefully watching so you may be there
If I should slip and fall into the nothing
Their cries are your words of praise
And so I smile at my distant reverie
Standing next to a stone angel
Surely you are prettier than she
Her eyes are hollowed; yours full of life
You reflect the sun's light with your smile
In my dreams you chase the fear away
How is it that you do so much without knowing?
These things I'd never say to you
For fear your eyes would never rest on me again
And so through these words I express
This love that goes beyond anything
The natural world may procure
In my mind you are my guardian
A statue ever resting in my heart.
You breaketh my soul
where am I to find it now that you've taken control
neglecting the tide
my fountain of youth placed there by your side
Never shun the forgotten sinner that by shame ever to stay in remembrance
strained to be as Temperance
flawless by standards of mind playing amateurs in times glance
my savoring heart will not bludgeon yours if you offer it your stance
Procure me to the parade
hover moonlight shade
blue turns to jade
stay with the lovers heir to which we have made
peer into the ocean of silver ice crystal streams
seeing our fate in my dreams
Call of minds refuge
upon weary lands of ode
memories kept under deluge
to decipher the code
Forgiven are ye who walk upon the stony grave of deserts loom
swept ashes by grace unbound naked as a cleansed fume
We no longer move in normal ways
and all this because of Covid 19
I no longer watch the news these days
Each day I pray for a simple cure
but as the numbers climb I realize
prayer is the only way to procure
Time lapses and we are losing ground
wish I could see a miracle or two
perhaps it would help me feel sound
Guardian angels are prepping their wings
preparing for their journey on earth
if I cup my ear, I can hear them sing
Hope is the only thing worth a keeping
in this world of uncertain terms
we got each other so lets keep steeping
Soak in the Faith as if it were a straw
we are al so very vulnerable
and none of us are above the law
Life is a gift so we shouldn't assume
never take any one for granted
hold on to each other while in loom
Thank the stars above that our still here
and even if you are afraid
be brave, and never give in to fear.

Senate and the House of representatives make up congress.
Exactly so why is one more important than other for progress.
Now fight divided, seems like a game of chess.
All were elected by the people, this we must express.
Tell them to fight for the people, big business suppress.
Embrace, oath they took, procure and acquiesce.
Fall descends as Summer leaves.
Autumn cools a skewed romance.
Here we find a heart that grieves,
While the other lives to dance.
Short the span of peak allure.
Egos start to hum the blues.
Mirrors follow and procure
Any truth you wish to view.
If the other shoe be age,
Let it drop, accept the dread.
Earplugs mute his music's rage,
Yours in stacks beneath the bed.

When it's served in large amounts.

'Twas nine o'clock on Monday morn
And Ned was full of cheek,
Depositing the cash he'd won
From gambling through the week.
The manager was curious
And asked Ned for the drum
On how he’d manage to procure
Each week a tidy sum.
"I only bet on sure things sir,"
Was how old Ned replied.
"Then show me an example friend?"
The manager enquired.
"No worries sir, I'll bet you now
Five hundred of the best
That you are wearing bright red jocks
And sir I do not jest."
The banker oozing confidence
Let out a joyous cry,
"You're on my friend!" and bared the cash,
A twinkle in his eye.
"Well drop your trousers sir," Ned said,
"Don't leave a bloke in doubt."
The banker thought the office more
A place to sort it out.
Then once inside he dropped his dacks
And with a grin he said,
"You've done your dough for you can see
These jocks are sure not red."
"Not good enough," old Ned replied,
"For they look red to me,
Perhaps it's 'cause I'm colour blind,
We'll need a referee."
"Let's ask your good Accountant sir,
To cast the final lot,"
But when the Banker called him in
He fainted on the spot.
"What's up with him?" The Banker said,
"The man's out like a light."
"He's in a state of shock," said Ned,
"But he'll come 'round all right."
"You see we waged a little bet,
A thousand he would pay,
If I could drop your dacks by ten;
A sure thing ... wouldn't you say?"
