Seasonal

Fall descends as Summer leaves.
Autumn cools a skewed romance.
Here we find a heart that grieves,
While the other lives to dance.

Short the span of peak allure.
Egos start to hum the blues.
Mirrors follow and procure
Any truth you wish to view.

If the other shoe be age,
Let it drop, accept the dread.
Earplugs mute his music's rage,
Yours in stacks beneath the bed.

Flattery can quickly blind
When it's served in large amounts.
Don't leave common sense behind,
With a dwindling bank account.

That's appreciated, liam. I'm still amazed at how many poems you've composed over such a relatively short time span. I'm about to dive in. I think I'll alternate pages.....Thanks again..YF ...Gene

Gene Bourne You work well with the #7. Is my favorite number, but not yet in poetry. You nailed this and it shows your ever present repertoire in prosody. The last two lines sort of give the ready the "lesson of the story." Well told, and the progression to that end was at worst suspenseful, at best intruiging. One can't go wrong here. Congrats. Thomas

Thanks, Thomas. Once you hit your stride in "The 7's, you'll never look back. I appreciate your kind remarks on a poem that needs a few tweaks. You are very kind in your comments. Your friend...Gene.
