Best Play Along Poems
A rhythmic refrain on the shore
As waves caress it more and more
A gentle breeze in fluted strain
On the shore a rhythmic refrain
As clouds pass by I hear a tune
As wispy notes above are strewn
A cadence floating in the sky
I hear a tune as clouds go by
There is a song among the stars
Twinkles make up musical bars
Moonbeam rhythms play along
Among the stars there is a song
On moonbeams a lullaby rides
As it shimmers upon the tides
When slumber takes you to your dreams
A lullaby rides on moonbeams

Wearing wireless headphones as I listen to the news.
I'm outside watching children playing, taking in the views.
There is screaming in my ears two voices disagree.
A little girl serves her playmates imaginary tea.
They're speaking on the pod, unarmed victims shot by police.
Captives tortured in war. I hear our own. I hear their pleas!
There's screaming in my ear a few voices disagree.
Little girls sitting pretend to speak French saying Oui, Oui!
There are typhoons hitting an island, reminds me of a tsunami.
Also officials gathering parts of a plane shot down by an army.
What happened to the plane that went missing, no one remembers.
Teenagers on the street play basketball great kids, great neighbors.
The president uses his pen, makes some politicians angry.
There is screaming in my ears so many voices disagree.
The girls skip rope, laughter fills the air and singing too.
Pundits discuss, argue this and that it's what they do.
Night and day is closer then these scholars and their degrees.
Theres screaming in my ear, voices, everyone disagrees.
The guys still shooting hoops, living the life, always polite.
Protests on the streets, the police display their might.
Some back peaceful protests others speak accusingly.
There is screaming in my ears, crowds of voices disagree.
I wave goodbye to the boys, we'll talk, I'll see them again soon.
The children want me to skip rope I play along like a buffoon.
They laugh that I can't skip properly. I leave them to their play.
There's screaming in my ear, voices...might as well talk to clay
My sleep will be hard, in the morning the sun will shine, children will wake.
What kind of world will we leave, you smile and laugh but feel like a fake.
Look how well we have done. When did we stop being one, being mild.
What happened to being cohesive? It takes a village to raise a child.
There is too much screaming in my ears, too many voices disagree.
I can only pray, lend my voice to the calm, hope we can all agree.

Through whispers in my nighttime sky
your attraction caresses
in such stunning passionate glow
longing a soul to impress
With every gaze I embrace
I'm pulled to you
ever closer a heavenly scent
wafting ever true
In glorious pools of you I wade
if only momentarily
never wishing to miss a thing
even temporarily
Upon a solitary lunar breeze
affections are cast above
heartbeats play along in tune
to our special kind of love
Oh moon my gorgeous moon
I so graciously swoon
The gentle music flows
from every drop of rain,
as it just lightly taps
against my window pane.
The wind begins to whistle
it's own melodious song,
while the wind-chimes
dance and play along.
The soothing sounds cast open
the windows and doors.
I close my eyes and breathe.
The energy surrounds me as my spirit soars.
I hold out my hand and feel the raindrops
as if they were at play.
My breath now quickened with emotion.
I taste the rain on my lips as I embrace the glorious day.
The curtains blow inward
the breeze itself is warm,
my mind is so peaceful
in the calm before the storm.
The sky's voice trembles
from above a darkening cloud,
as the rolling thunder
speaks it's thoughts aloud.
The thunder awakens
the flash of light.
The part of nature
that sends some to flight.
I chose to embrace the power of nature
in the earth and sky.
And bask in the wonder
that fills my eyes.
The rain seems to be letting up
as it puddles on the green grass,
and the once powerful winds
are now calming down at last.
The gray clouds are parting
and a bright rainbow forms,
proving that something beautiful
can come from such dangerous storms.
My eyes close and I breathe
in the scent of the cleansing rain.
The brilliant hues of the rainbow
dance in my mind where I feel no pain.
The sun peaks from behind the clouds
just to say hi.
I feel the warmth against my face
as I view the beauty with a sigh.

Love is my favorite game.
I love to play along.
As silver threads weave
their way thru my soul.
Memories of futures past.
Echoing across the land.
Years started to drift on by.
Losing loved ones dropping like flies.
As the sun slips below the skies.
All I wanna do is cry.
Run away and hide.
Then all doubts of you leaving drift away.
As I was mystified listening to the whispers in the wind.

Monday morning and it's not boring,
freedom from husbands snoring.
Alarm clock rings, he's off to work,
I sip my coffee with a satisfied smirk.
The sun comes up over the tree line,
a few moments to claim as my time.
Then the fun and folly truly starts,
a bed headed daughter warms my heart.
It's a crazy chaos day in wonderland.
Lots of hugs and kisses in demand.
Household chores we complete hand in hand
then swing on the swingset, play in the sand.
Reading, writing then mathematics,
I play along with her silly antics.
Hour in the kitchen cooking dinner,
making sure that is a top chef winner.
Another hour of cleaning up
then a long walk with the hyper pup.
The sun is setting and husbands home,
a busy day with a complaint and a moan.
But I tell him a mamas job is never done,
and he laughs and says "at least you have fun"
I must admit it, yes I do,
but I sure would like a paycheck too!

Come on artists
lets play a game
its all different to me and i want you to see how i am different
and let me shine as you sign up another way
as i prove to you my leadership of this new age wave
cards cards
give them new meanings
like you never knew you could
and lets make the psychics pine through our words to figure out
what they are reading and believing
I wanna see your hearts and spades
dressed in tall grass or lemonaide
i wanna see your cups and wands
inbetween whispering winds and songs lead me there
i know you can come on
come on
come on be strong
like a suit of clubs or diamonds
show me something
and then sprinkle your writings
and we'll make collectors out of all those we invite here
as they read and ponder the meanings of our literature
whats in your hand?
a royal flush a pair?
and as we deal the cards they stumble upon at this endless game
of cribbage or poker
or tarock
or war who is winning and getting points?
what card means what to who and why
tell me artist as you write with your style on low and high
what makes what suit smile and fade shine and slide?
inside outside sphere of influence
be their collective the object of the psychics to crave?
blind leading the blind
and something they are after for days and days
a few cards your favorite cards play smart or dumb
shuffle the cards pick a game deal a hand
reveal what your playing and one day i'll tell you what we're playing what your
cards mean
if nothing
to someone one day when the stumble your way
the mystery of nothing speaks something
and we rebuild the puzzle of cartomancy better and better this way
just inspire
once you know you can't
blind leadin gthe blind
so after you read this you can't
play along your uninvited
strike it off your list of things to do
round one is over now go find all who wrote
all who write all who have wriitten the masterpieces
of cards and see what they mean today and collect them for that is something no
one else can do
until round two....
My perennial garden is peaceful and tranquil
A timeless place of beauty where calmness will instill
Vibrant blooms emanate sweet and savory scents
No fake or synthetic wafts among the floral presents
Birds flutter and dip in the rustic metal bird baths
While chipmunks nibble and play along their tiny paths
Swirling garden spinners whisper in the light breeze
An illusion of flying spindles, adds a whimsical tease
The solar fountain is a balance of sounds and silence
As water trickles and flows and provides some reliance
Bees and dragonflies hover and then stop to take a drink
As butterflies flutter in vibrant wings of purple and pink
Asiatic lilies open their bright orange petals of luck
Their beauty instills feelings of awe and wonder struck
Hummingbirds often visit the garden to stop and sip
Delicately feeding on phlox while wings flutter and zip
My perennial garden is a sacred and treasured place
Where nature is welcomed to visit and take up space
DANNY BOY # 2
Here you go Danny
it is time to move and play along.
I am amused by your poetry song.
Sorry it had to come to this ..
Lets play with my Barbie's
Before you really get real pisssss!! : )
Danny boy, you got me so far way up your ass.
You remind me of a boy from my first grade class.
How he loved his hot wheels, and picking on me.
Chasing one another was such a blast.
Until that one day I kicked his ass.
That is what he gets for trying to kiss on me.
Now here comes a new Danny boy slamming my way.
Danny I am older now so careful with what you say.
By the power of grace skull.
Was your way of making me laugh.
Danny stop pulling my piggy tails.
Every time your shooting gas.
What is that move you played, when you stung like a bee.
Last time you call yourself a butterfly girly boy.
And by the way your he-man slam had nothing on me.
I am just waiting here for you to destroy.
I will give it to you again one more time easily.
In the next round I am not going to toy with you boy
I am going to hurt you and make you realize you just got trashed.
I am going to make you cry like a little boy.
Step on your hot wheels, until they are completely smashed
Your sugar and jam is a set up for my next decoy.
Danny your hot wheel by now are burning ass
I will keep burning your rubber, to see how long you last.
Here's another head on collision for you to bash.
Buddy all hot wheels come to and end when they crash.
The Poet Destroyer is sending you a warning of a small whiplash
Sitting on the front porch in the evening shade,
strumming on a flattop guitar that was made
to play along with a country song
about a sad heart who was done wrong.
Old Shep beats his tail to the tune,
enjoying the breeze and the croon
of the melodic voice which fills the air,
encouraging the birds to sing with flair.
Friendly neighbors stop by to listen with glee
to the one-man show which is free,
there isn't anything he can't play,
taking all requests on any day.
Favorites are heard and the group is a part
of the dusk-like entertainment considered art,
joining together with voices raised up high,
taking a walk down memory lane with a sigh.
Sitting on the front porch in the evening shade
is a summertime thought that will not fade,
singing along with the guitar,
making sounds in unison near and far.
Gentle on My Mind
You play along the edges,
of every memory worth having.
You have been there since,
I care to look back.
I was stupid,
fearful,
distrustful,
and dangerous.
You… ever were patient,
kind, and slow to anger,
walking a measured gait.
Cowboy,
You speak in a voice,
that melts my heart.
but your real words,
more often are unvoiced,
but always felt,
tangibly… changing
the fixed temperament
left behind,
in the wake of users,
defilers of dreams.
You make me look up at the stars.
You make me find new paths…
You are a cold drink,
to my parched journey.
Now I no longer…
walk alone.
Here I am without a moonshine
in a room painted in black and white
Cursed and Blessed
Abandoned Caressed
I smile ... I cry...
With two halves of my brain interwined.
Hush -Hush I Silence the voice
Hush -Hush I do not have a choice
Do not sing a song or Do play along
Hush-Hush Hush-Hush.
The yang within me still swirling with passion
The ying shadows my heart
Be gentle Be strong
Be right Be wrong
Depart or Belong.
Cursed and Blessed
Abanoned Caressed
I smile... I cry...
Rain is falling in his front porch
Clouds have covered my sky
Sunset thoughts have drifted with stream flow
Dreams have shifted into sleepless nights.
But Suddenly Was it meant to be?
Outside my window paper -lanterns rise -up high
All emotions are turning in cartwheels
As time keep passing by.
So very soon a new dawn will follow
All alone I face it's light
I feel its warmth Its rainbow colours
Once again a fairy spell
will make our lives shine bright.
The ying within me still swirling with passion
The yang shadows my heart
Be gentle Be strong
Be right Be wrong
Depart or Belong
Silence my voice
or sing me a song
In the skies over Inverness
is light-play on an annual quest
and pipers in kilts come to play along
with the aurora’s lovely song.
Moonbeams shy in aurora’s light
give way to flowing waves so bright.
Cosmic charged particles from the sun
are sure to leave no coloring undone.
Echoes of piped tunes will dance
while colors in sky do entrance;
as high above the highland lakes
the sky performs a waltz of grace.

Julia Ward
déjà vu; we’ve seen this before
logic says it cannot be so
have we walked through a time warp door
we can rest not, until we know
perhaps we’re perched on time’s hilltop
déjà vu; we’ve seen this before
reality shifts, doubts don’t stop
truth of what is, we can’t ignore
yielding, we give silence the floor
whence we see that life is a dream
déjà vu; we’ve seen this before
refrains replayed on a moonbeam
mind illumined, heart sings a song
clairvoyance affirmed in folklore
though now we know, we play along
déjà vu; we’ve seen this before
One day I will wake
and understand why
you left yourself behind
when you moved away
I find evidence
that you have
been in every room
It has been 11 months
since you ran away
from yourself
Today
your book is still turned over
forever resting
on the first page
of the tenth chapter
I wonder if you have
missed yourself yet
You left so many
of your things here
Like markers
staking a claim for you
in case you need evidence
to convince me
that almost a year
hasn't passed
In case you decide
to suddenly show up
and pretend you never left
In case I will play along
when you pick up
your book
and continue reading
where you left off
You are not really here...
So
why
haven't
you
gone
yet?
