Haul back from Winter Fairy land the wondrous Christmas tree
Open up the boxes with bright ornaments and all the trimming.

Hear the kids shout for Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman oh so merry.
Obedient they are too, like little elves, with visions of toys, their joy brimming

Harness up the horses; get the sled. It’s Jingle bells time for you and me.
Over the snow, the sleigh bells ring. Memories like these will not be dimming.

Hate To Say

I'll say all the things they hate to say
I look for everything I hate to see
I know nothing out there has a chance of breaking me
I found peace in myself, I'll never rely on another to make my day

Why would I pay attention to words that weren't directly wrote to me?
Why should i care for things said from people who never spoke to me?
I believe half of what I see and none of what I hear
I laugh at those who thought I'd drop a tear

I made myself numb, i don't feel a thing
I don't need a crown, I'm still a king
I was born without them, so i had to build my wings
Now I feel as strong as Sonic the Hedgehog feels with rings

I've faced my monsters and demons so why would I feel frightened?
They say kill them with kindness, but I got took advantage of, so I killed kindness
They told me i shouldn't say it
But i pick a pen up and I still write it

Fear isn't real, nothing out there can scare me
I feel comfortable when my nightmares stand near me
I find light in the dark
I don't care if they hate me for saying it, because I pen my heart

I'll say all the things that they hate to say
I look for everything I hate to see
Nothing out there has a chance of breaking me
I found happiness in myself, so I'll never rely on another to make my day

Poetry Soup Rocks

Poets around the world gather right here
Over mounts and founts where muse is found clear
Expecting greatness from Poetry Soup
Then finding it when you need to recoup
Rehabilitated when you feel at home
Your sweet quill shall pen the perfect poem

Simplistic yet deep I do write sometimes
Or a long acrostic poem that rhymes
Utterly amazing poetry site
Put our hearts together and let’s go write!

Relieving your angst from a long hard day
Open up that journal, do it your way
Caring for others when kindness is yearned
Kaleidoscope of cultures we have learned
So gather in love; for this gift is earned
!

Premium Member A Trail of Better Days

The world is full of people.
Some are good and some are bad.
The difference between them
are the solutions that they had.

Some folks don't react well
when a problem comes in play.
Others are more practiced
for when trouble comes their way.

The smart ones seem to look at things
with a positive approach.
They listen to advice
from a mentor or a coach.

The sad ones let things stew inside
and pen up all their rage.
They seem to think of life
as if they're living in a cage.

Solving problems, helping out,
and keeping a cool head,
are keys to lasting happiness
that don't have to be said.

So cherish any problems
that try to get you down.
Think of them as practice
as you wend your way through town

Tackle problems with a smile
and look for helpful ways.
If you do you'll always find
a trail of better days.

Pens Off Safety

My pens off safety and the trigger won't jam
You couldn't out write me if I had a broken hand
To get my name in the history of poetry is my plan
My pens off safety and the trigger won't jam

A poetry lover
Who's emotionally suffered
A tortured artist with a beautiful mind
Who writes differently to most poets usual rhymes

I hear them say "He calls himself the Jason Voorhees of poetry so much it's played out"
But when I pick my pen up, I guarantee you won't want to play out
If I ask to use your pad, give me the whole thing don't just rip a page out
My pen is powerful enough to get Michael Myers to put his blade down

On my worst day you couldn't beat me at a game of scrabble
I'm tired of every girls picture being photoshopped, Half the females you speak to online have an Adams apple
You guys are dumb enough to fall for it, more fool you
When I hit her with my poetry, your dream girl won't want to call you

I'm just joking and putting a typical Ignorant Rap line there
I give my all in my poetry because I'm not afraid to mind share
Hope to inspire those who need it and make the most of my time here
I speak to anyone who takes the time to lend a kind ear

When my pens off safety no one is safe
This is target practice when I write on a page
I'd put your name in my poetry but prove that you're worthy
My pens off safety and I'm showing no mercy

The Art of Living

I almost got blinded by the light, I felt confused when the dark was missing
Having a real smile on my face is something that was hard to envision
I've noticed that when I pick my pen up that my art is different
But the picture is getting clearer, I'm finally starting to understand the art of living

It took me a while but I'm finally in a good mind state
I'm making the most of everything I have now, I used to time waste
I had to go through the worst times, and I haven't seen my best yet
But I survived my own mind sending me death threats

Depression had control of me, but I managed to escape it
I refuse to dress it up, and I'm not sending nudes, but I'm letting you see me naked
It got to a point where my nightmares were something I was no longer scared of
Me giving up? That's something you will never hear of

I was going to clubs and drinking alcohol while I healed
But now I'm finally at a place where my smile is real
I'm laughing and joking about things I used to cry about
I've moved on from people I thought I couldn't live without

I spent so much time and wasted so much energy on the wrong one
But stabbing me in the back will hurt you more in the long run
Karma will catch you, I'll never understand how you can screw over someone who is all for you
It took me a while to pick myself up, I don't know why I had to fall for you

I don't regret it, because now I know you came as a lesson not a blessing
I shed many tears over you while I was fighting depression
But I overcame both and now I'm standing here stronger than ever
Me, myself and I will always stand together

I was so used to pain, I got confused when the dark was missing
Having a real smile on my face is something that was hard to envision
I've noticed that when I pick my pen up these days my art is different
But the picture is getting clearer, I'm finally starting to understand the art of living

I Am the One

It's two a.m and I'm still sitting here trying to write.
I have the comfort of this candle burning low.
I have the warmth of a fire right beside me.
Yet what you want me to write makes my thoughts and words hard to flow.
I just smiled when you said you were gonna sit up.
Oh how you wanted to see the process of how I write.
I watched you fend off sleep but in the end you had to give up.
Watching you asleep on the couch in peace gives me a calm delight.
I'm to write about myself and how my poems as you say "just happen".
I tell you those words don't come with ease.
I'll do my best but it's sometimes hard to write about oneself.
Especially when asked, but I will try to please.

I'm the one whose words written or spoken will be the truth.
There's the times when I'm excited and I will mix up what I want to say.
The loved one's in my life including yourself will always come first.
I would do anything come night or day.
I am the one people sometimes stare at, yet don't really see.
Even though my heart burns deeply with dreams, and a fire held deep inside.
I may have thick skin but when I'm cut it still pains me.
I am the one who is stubborn when I battle with my pride.

It's four a.m and your not stirring.
I watch you sleep with no disturbance to bring you around.
My pen has started with you asleep and my mind is turning,
Just watching you, thoughts easily come to me now.
Please don't be mad in the morning when you wake.
Especially for falling asleep when I began to write.
That's how it happens I can't be watched, how I'll make you wait.
In the end grinding against sleep I will see you lose the fight.

I am the one who writes alone feeling out my thoughts.
It's no insult to you it has just always been that way.
Many emotions that I filter for each of life's battles I have fought.
I am the one who can get scared and find no words to say.
I try to explain how there is no hidden pen up my sleeve.
I'm the one who loves you and would do all I can.
I am the one looking at you now and smiling while you sleep.
Soon you will wake and I will give you this to read for it's going on seven a.m

To Fold a Season

O pen up soft eyes,
to winter's frigid white tears
and the angel's veil.

R elief dances wild
in each clean, rebellious flake,
blessing the night crease.

I vory stars kiss
heaven's violet canvas,
a glistening sheet.

G litter: a new life
in which the paper crane flies,
bathed in vernal dew.

A zaleas now bloom
alongside Her majesty,
pressed gently at side.

M orning star does smile,
its tender, gold, shining edge:
sprouting merriment.

I t is the rhythm,
when winter bends into spring;
to fold a season...

Premium Member Living a Scot In My Home Land

I've lived in my land all of my life
travelled in many other lands on holiday
but always to return to what I call home
cause it's special always come what may

The weather is well documented as dull
but has its bright spells not often as it should
when the sun comes out it's so colourful
brightens up your day get you in right mood

Raised up many a famous poetic pen
Burns, Scott and Bonar to name a few
makes one seek to be inspired by them
hold your pen up to wait in the queue

The scenery of the highlands and lowlands
will take your breath away so very grand
the majesty of the wonder of its creator
shows the finger of a divine hand

So many grand castles and mountains
really there's so very much to tell
but really you should really come yourself
to see it in its glory to watch it all gel!
