Iris sun fades and so does the day
whispers the carried in the silence of night glowing
Wishes floating on silver trails faraway
The image of your face will forever bounded to this world
Angels Brought you to me made a lightening
sparkling diamonds in the misting treasures gems so bright

Ice roses turns into a steaming jungle of quivering glass
Flashing in the distance, in the moon light
and all of its stars, that's where the angels dancing
A beautiful adventure picture sparklers on a winter night

A cold moon dressed in dark velvet
with a pearl milky white smile beams
Sparkling jewel crystal lights up
stars blinking silver awakening
warm invading darkness your light
My life has at last found its light and its hope

Soulful cries a wolf dressed in winter clothes
faraway over ocean waves
carries in a wind’s whisper sweet music dances
A magical night that will set the spirit free
Silently breathes out a puff of magic sweetly
beauty enchants warmly etching strikes
frosted fingers cracking ice deeply echoes

Striking inside bells toll warmly skipping drumbeats
bouncing of chamber walls loving tunes
Believing in your love a dream
Which enchants music of the butterflies dance
howling clouds out steaming warm sighs fluttering warmly
I closed my eyes at the end of the road
and thought of the stars
and the reason earth spins around the sun

Longhorns and Pearly Gates

I'd been in Heaven quite awhile
Victim of a Spring flood
When Curly showed up at The Gates -
He's always been my bud

I said, ”Curly, why are you here?
You’re way too young to be!”
He said,”I really do not know,
There’s nothin’ wrong with me.”

"Well", says I, "what was you doin'
The last time you can think?"
Curly said," Yep, it's comin' back.
Just quicker than a wink."

“The boss bought some longhorn cows
To breed with his own stock.
We was movin’ them to pasture,
When one decides to balk.”

“He wouldn’t go through that last gate
No matter what I did.
I’d never worked longhorns before,
So off my hoss I slid.”

“That bull looked like he’s smart enough,
Thought that I could lead him.
That didn’t seem to work so well,
Maybe I could feed him.”

“Well, nothin’ worked and time went by,
He even starts to nod.
That was the last straw I could stand,
I used a cattle prod.”

“And that’s the last thing I recall
Of bein’ my old self.
An' here I am amongst the clouds–
Just sittin' on some shelf.”

I said,”Curly, that there's a tale
They'll tell about yor' roots!
Though it’s sooner than you had planned,
You died wearin' yor' boots .”

“Yor' better off up here for shor' –
I’ll take you to meet God.
He’s never seen a cowboy who’d
Hit a longhorn with a prod!”

"True love can last a lifetime, but only if you forget to love"
The pearly gates of heaven is where you walked through.
The love we had for each other was everything we knew.

Now that your gone I won't know what to do.
My love for you is why I'll always be true.

Cause you went first please say you'll wait.
And together we'll walk through the pearly gates.

We've crossed alot of bridges and walked so many miles.
Now that your gone I'm not sure if I can stand the trials.

For me to hold you in my lovin arms just once more.
When you were taken I was broken to the core.

Cause you went first please say you'll wait.
And together we'll walk through the pearly gates.

Layed on our bed I slept on the left you on the right.
I smell your sweet scent in your pillow at night.

I miss you my darlin I'll never love again.
You are my only love I'll love you till the end.

Cause you went first please say you'll wait.
And together we'll walk through the pearly gates.

I finally fell asleep with you on my mind.
Why darlin did I have to stay behind.

I'm left with nothing but my memories.
Our love our life was our destiny.

Cause you went first please say you'll wait.
Then together we'll walk through the pearly gates.

The Pearly Gates

At the pearly gates, I was categorised,
with all of the others waiting to enter inside.
The questions were many and searching, too,
but if honestly answered, rewards were for you.

Have you ever been unfaithful, to your spouse,
was one that was easy, because I'm no louse.
The number of times that you said that you cheated,
was the decider as to whatever transport you rated.

If never you'd strayed, a Rolls Royce it was yours,
If once or twice, a Ford Escort for tours.
Multiple times and it got a lot worse,
depending on how many, you could end up with a horse.

I collected my Rolls and I drove it away,
waving to others and feeling OK.
But then I espied a man who was crying,
so I stopped and I asked him, what it was that was ailing.

Between sobs he explained that his dear wife and he,
were both dead from drowning in the North Sea.
And while he was driving his Rolls, he was floored,
When he overtook his wife who was on a skateboard.

Archie Bunker At the Pearly Gates

Archie Bunker at the Pearly Gates

By Elton Camp

Archie almost died at the loading dock
The experience, to him, quite a shock
“If the crate hadn’t missed, I’d be dead”
The scary thought ran through his head

That night he had a most troubling dream
Because completely real to him it did seem
When fluffy white clouds and angels he spied,
Archie then suddenly realized that he had died

“I am sure it will be as I’ve always been told
With the streets all paved with the finest gold.
A place where I can lie about on a cloud all day
And I’ll have a golden harp I can learn to play.”

“I just can’t wait to get my pair of feathery wings.
I’ve always thought I’d like to have them things.
And a glowing halo circling up above my head.
Maybe it ain’t gonna be so bad, this being dead.”

He spotted a neon sign that had the following to say:
“To the pearly gates, please proceed along this way.”
As he trod the narrow path, he glimpsed far over there
A lofty, shining palace--it was a city built foursquare

Archie found the pearly gates and he began to knock
What happened next gave him a most horrible shock
St. Peter had a beak-like nose and quite swarthy skin
Peter look at him with a grin. “Hello Archie, come in.”

“For me to be around a guy like youse won’t do.
People will think that youse might be a Hebrew.”
Peter told Archie what was historically true:
Each of the earliest Christians had been a Jew.

“And if youse has got any coloreds inside there,
Then whether I come in, I sure as hell don’t care.
If that’s the kind of place heaven’s gonna be,
Then it ain’t no place for a white guy like me.”

Archie then woke up with a piercing scream
“Oh, Edith, I just had the most terrible dream.
I went way up to heaven, but far as I could tell,
I would really just as soon have to live in hell.”

Don't judge me to harshly O'Lord
mercy on my soul I implore
For I was born into sin
it is a harsh way to begin
It's not that I seldom prayed
or from church I stayed away
It's not that I was full of greed
to me it was just my needs
And those silly little white lies
surly not to my own demise
And to heaven you must let me in
once I even voted Republican
I think Saint Peter is on the sly
he does not seem to want me inside
Those Pearly Gates look shiny and new
come on now let me through
So Lord forgive me somehow
Hand me a harp and a big fluffy cloud
Whatever I did did I really do
there's got to be a loophole or two
The sands in my hour glass rush
but if it isn't too much
Before that judgement bell chimes
I got an extra hour thanks to daylight savings time

The Atheist At the Pearly Gates

One day at the Pearly Gates
An Atheist appeared
Slightly stunned at what he saw
He looked a little scared

Filled with doubt he slowly moved
Now seemingly annoyed
Where was the numbing silence?
And hollow empty void?

With glaring trepidation
He moved towards the light
Cautious now he paced himself
And tried to look contrite

Saint Peter had been watching him
With patience from the gate
The Atheist’s had come before
Each one was worth the wait

The Atheist stood before him
Now in the luminous glow
With downcast eyes, apologized
And gasped “I didn’t know!”

Saint Peter’s words came slowly
He seemed somewhat aloof
“I would like to believe you sir,
But there simply is no proof!”

LOOK TO THE PEARLY GATES

would i have taken more pride to my eyes,
in the sublimity of each stained-glass window?

i never saw the quintessential crown of thorns.
i don’t adore the mock up, but look to the pearly gate

where true jewels, radiant in purity shine.
it’s holy week and most people proudly boast

Christ on their shoulders, and tears do bend
toward the dusty ground for an iconic reverence

of a microscopic building, as seen from
the awesome sovereignty of God’s eye.

true ‘tis sad for mankind to lose a gem,
but more importantly to lose one’s soul.

‘tis not tied up in forest timber, nor hands of men.
only one tree held our Savior.

Behold! Look up! Not at the rafters of the Humpback’s feat,
but at the spawn of nails, the coffer of heaven’s inheritance.

a grand celebration where ashen knees drop in pretense
once a year, as a promise, to someone dear, on Easter.

open your eyes this time, to the wonder.
    LOOK to the passionate fire

a spire falls, a church burns, people mourn

but heaven will ne’er burn, only hell

and why?

our Lord reclaimed us for His own if we believe,
believe not in falsetto, but in melody

with all our heart...with ALL our heart...ALL our Heart

incline, listen to the sweet merciful tone,

follow Him to His heavenly home

where you can sit forever at His feet
and stare in awe at the wonder of His majesty.

Look For Me At the Pearly Gates

Look For Me At The Pearly Gates.

Look for me at the Pearly Gates.
No need to rush, no need to wait,
Because for this trip I am securely prepared
This space for me shall not be impaired,
It comes with a highly convicting price.
The price we know just has to be right.
The price for which there is no cash.
No bill collecting device, and
No monitor on the taxing dash.
For the life I so gallantly did borrow
In this place has no more tomorrows
Yet, I can stand so bravely alone
The earthly clock has strokes time out,
My yesterday’s, yell is only a vague shout.
Can’t you see me, am I yet standing?
Am I at the gate, or on the landing?
If you can no longer see me there
Trust me, even more trust God
There’s no need to search anywhere.
Just look for me at the Pearly Gates
Just keep on paying your lifetime bill
Remember though, that it is the Father’s will
God gives us a lifetime of wakeup calls
He picks us up from many awkward falls
At this time with God’s grace, I am ready
With God’s mercy, I hold my head up high
My heart and hands are inestimably steady
When I am no longer in this mundane line
Wondering how long is the wait,
Just look for me at the Pearly Gates

Are all the successful people in the world
Content and happy with their lives
Is a mansion on a hilltop with scads of dough
The only thing we need to survive

Nay nay good people, we need interaction
With others to inspire great things
The loving relationships of family and friends
Without them, we feel loneliness' sting

Floundering at sea like a rudderless ship
Being tossed to and fro by life's trials
It's really quite normal to crave some attention
We need human contact for survival

Why must we always keep up with the Jones'
Why not appreciate what we've got
Lucky to be alive on this luscious green earth
Taking care of our own little plot

Certainly no expert but I do know how things
Can affect each one of our lives
So always think positive wherever you go
Even giving strangers high fives

The shock and great joy on all of their faces
Is worth the small effort it takes
To share your enthusiasm and true lust for life
Till you arrive at those Pearly Gates!

Pearly Gates

And when we reached the pearly gates
St Peter looks at us and states
Your lives have been so full of sin
There is no way you’re coming in
I’ll send you to that other place
Which isn’t any real disgrace
For many famous folk are there
Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire
Several Popes and clergy too
Are waiting there to welcome you
You might enjoy the Hades folk
Who fornicate and drink and smoke
At their will they take their pleasure
Live a life of joy and leisure
So be off, be on your way
For at this place you cannot stay
And should one day you feel inclined
A place for me you could but find
Send a note, the merest jot
And I’ll be with you like a shot

You can't get to Heaven with the Man In The Moon
You can't get to Heaven on a flying spoon
You can't get to Heaven on a roller skate
You can only get to Heaven through the Pearly Gates

You might see the Devil in your daddy's barn
You might see the Devil in a ball of yarn
You might see the Devil if you stay up late
You might see him hanging 'round the Pearly Gates

The Angels said "Children don't you run away
"We just stopped by to watch you play
"So pick up your toys and you can stay
"We'll see you again on Judgement Day"
