Premium Member Being Gay
Being gay is a nightmare,
Yet not for what it's worth,
But for the social wear and tear,
Of not fitting in on Earth.

Does my taste for men inflict upon you,
A pain so great with which you cannot stand?
Does my choice for which orifice I go through,
Neccessitate legal...

At The Gates of Auschwitz

Today, I stand
At the gates of hell;
“Arbeit macht frei,”
(work sets you free!)
That is Auschwitz.
Where they burned God’s children,
And the world stood by;
Oblivious,
To what was happening inside.

The League of Nations
(Whose mandate was World Peace)
Failed!
And in 1942
The trains rolled into Auschwitz
Carrying God’s children;
Packed...

The Perfectionist Is Listening
The Perfectionist is Listening

the rich are committing suicide
and taking us with them
the prosthetic limbed bastards
Fort Darwin tottering on fewer stilts
once the masters of the universe
presently picking through garbage
looking for an Icarus to pilot
some way back among the clouds
their telepathic goon squads
armed with the hard...

"The Emperor’s New Clothes"

We write about beliefs
our prayer flags flying
like chrysallis books on a branch
of those higher deities we trust,
submerged, we are always listening

in our quiet hours of sleep
mostly when 3.33 calls us in,
we wake regularly, we wake
like sleepwalkers, we turn...

"Royal Jelly and the Hornet Helix"

When the murder hornets arrived
they flashed their big black wings
like sharp porcupine needles into our minds
we became honeycombed hypnotised, held in their hive,
all one mind, one world, the "New Word"...Love,
well love of a different kind abounds, in...

Premium Member Remembering Radical Relatives
Explain your historical evolution radically, inclusively, expansively, good-humoredly;
not carefully, deductively, reductively, sarcastically.

We once had a school of thought
among up and coming geneticists and historians
that the precursor to the regeneration of a species,
or even an ecological paradigm,
most any kind of reiterative memory and retrieval...

Apostasy of a Prophet
This Casuistry is a paradox
Fallacious feelings repress
A Sophistry you ingress Chemically redox
Tergiversate under scrutiny. A misfit – an anachronism. Elusory emotions to express
My argument a confused paralogism	Chicanery...

The Devil Dances
This world has come full circle
And lies groaning in its sin
For time has now encircled
The beginning of the end.

And now the Devil dances
His hour upon the stage
Through flatteries he prances
To the cadence of his rage.

The goats call him "Messiah"
Who willingly take his brand
Become the dark...

Abe Lincoln As a Democrat
Abe Lincoln As A democrat
© Ben Burton 8-25-2014

The evil of men being sold
Long past, since Mr. Lincoln's fight
Still, dark suspicion blooms and grows
And loots the cause of civil rights

The North designed a whipping horse
Down in the segregated South
Yet, Major Leagues were all up north
For eighty...

Premium Member Outlaws
The best artists are outlaws
Vandalizing our sanctity,
Our sanctimonious freight trains,
Our parsimonious neglect.

The best artists are culprits
Chiseling our school desks,
Scraping our bathroom stalls,
Doodling our notebooks.

Graffiti spray paints the struggle,
Scribbling defaces the pretense,
Defilement arrests the complacent,
Disfigurement sullies the platitude.

Defacers embody the dialectic,
The opposition to conformity,
The betrayal of...

The Land of Sun
The Sun set behind the lion as he wielded the sword,
his silhouette beamed with a golden glow, as he prayed to the lord.

The Great King, his wise radiance, he is known as a messiah.
His realm, so cosmic and vast, his people will...

Away We Go
In the streets, we walk alone
Down, down, low, away we go.
The stars, they only taunt us.
Up so high, dancing in the sky.

I want to seek their comfort.
I want my body cradled.
Down, down, low, away we go.
Walking like outcast.

It's because i'm different
It's because we're different

"How dare...

Turonadistor
TURONADISTOR
This new method of action
Defeats all before the gate.
This latent predilection
Is shamed in scorn and hate.
All the pariahs scamper without question
As the bee’s return to their hives.
So sheltered it becomes impossible to ever learn.
We do what needs done, in order to survive.

Although...

Premium Member The Return of Earth To the Devout
Squadron assembled
Trojans and droids
Three sisters their target
Null to void

Atmosphere entered
Red to grey glow
As we near earths terrain
Red rivers flow

Cities on fire
Civilisation of pyres
No daylight sensed
Extinguished, by these darkened pariah's

The droids report back
These sisters three
In New York spotted
Near the Statue of Liberty

The...
