Best Ould Poems
Just the other day I came across a picture of you with your horse
And was amazed to see how much we looked alike
Could it be true that you are mere words upon a cold stone
Quiet, beautiful and kind Jacqueline
Unbelievable you left this world on Mother's Day
Entangled, meshed, intertwined are our souls for eternity
Love is what you left with me
I am so proud to be the daughter of one such as you
Not a day will go by that you are not in my heart
Especially on Mother's Day

Dumbstruck Is Me (a rhyming, acrostic kind of thing)
Discombobulated, how apt the word
Utterly gobsmacked by the absurd
Mind numbingly mortified at the nonsensical
By waking to find I’m without either testicle
Silenced as side by side they’re strung together
To hang on the wall there forever... and ever
Running around with another man’s wife
Until I returned to a well concealed knife
Could not comprehend the Snip! Cut! and Sever!
Knock me down with a feather
I’m finding my voice is now three octaves higher
She says that it’s my fault for poking the fire
Mandy, it’s not fair that I lie here dumbstruck
Even though I was a self serving dumbf...

A place in the middle of nowhere, I wish to be in, where I could still
Breathe the blissful pure fresh air of the bucolic, where I
Could hear the hum of silence harmonious to my mind’s rhythm, where
Dew drops of serenity sparkle in a peasant’s land in morn’s rays, where
Eyes yearn to catch a glimpse of the beauty of the soul than the beauty of the
Face, where I do not need a mirror to see if I look okay and I
Get to be accepted as I am and not compared with anyone, where the
Harvest hope of a farmer is not shattered by cyclones and floods, where
I could hear the throb of silence and pen my ponderings in peace, where
Jealousy or hypocrisy or anxiety or grief ceases to exist, where
Knots of hindrances for growth untangle themselves with ease, where
Language of love is the only medium of communication, where the
Melodious songs of birds are heard throughout the year as
Nature is never reluctant to flourish in Her full glory here, where the
Oppressed are not cast out from society like corners of bread, where
Perceptions of my muse are ignited to get answers to all my deep baffling
Queries on life, where disabilities of people are not made fun of, where
Rays of the rising sun, forever, gives the warmth of hope, where my
Soul revels in ‘the now’, cares descend, and mind is at ease, where
Thoughtless, I can remain in this unknown, unnamed land, where
Unspoken words of truth echo more than spoken words of lie,
Voices, muted, of the innocent get more chances to be heard, and
Whimpers and sighs of pain are never heard. Such an idyllic
Xanadu is my dreamland, where I do not have to worry about
Yesterday, today, or tomorrow and could reach a
Zen state of mind that will soothe my being.

Silence hushed, a crowd in awe,
Only crickets could be heard.
Under the spell of the Babe,
They looked to where he pointed,
Hoping to see a home run.
Perhaps the greatest player
America ever-knew,
Would, once again, please the crowd.
But the pitcher wasn't phased,
And threw a wicket screwball.
Babe watched its winding approach,
Eyed it close, took aim, and swung.
Resounding off of his bat,
Unfailingly, the ball flew.
Then, as the home crowd cheered on,
Headed straight for its target.

O pening up my front door this morning,
C ould not believe what I saw there.
T he aroma of wood smoke was in the air.
O vernight the entire world had changed,
B ountiful beauty as far as the eye could see.
E very leaved limb shivered in the cool air.
R eminding me of all my autumns gone by.

P arking my Harley near the doorway, we sauntered inside.
O ther than a lone microphone, I took the emptiness in stride.
E VENTUALLY the emcee asked what would be our order,
T hough it was hard for him to speak because of his goiter.
R eaching for my empty wallet was an INEVITABLE ILLUSION,
Y our CREATIVITY will be needed now, to prevent any contusion.
P erhaps I was mistaken, thinking I’d drop in for an alcohol INFUSION.
A lthough, the strong smell of pot just might ease that delusion.
L ooking all around the place for some small sense of sanity,
A fter that, the TV just went blank during a show called “Hannity.”
C ould this place, I wondered; be a “poetry palace” with an open mike?
E xcited, I ran out for the chap book I left on my trike.

Come caroling on Christmas Day, my love.
Hark merry sounds, one spirit sings as two.
Rise carols high above white turtle dove
In flight with cardinals of reddest hue.
Sing loud of peace and joy and jingle bells
Together as we glide o’er sparkling field.
More music blends with wind and wintry smells -
All spice, pine cones and tasty treats concealed.
Snow powders us in magic, soft and white.
My hands and heart are warmed by you so near.
Until the day retreats in full moon light,
Sing tenderly into my loving ear.
If New Year, like a thief, takes you away,
Could you return to me 'fore Christmas Day?

Galactic Traveler
Alone in time and space
Lost in eternal paths
And orbits that you trace
Cosmic cartographer
Through nothingness you turn
In hope some distant eye
Could faintly see you burn
Transiting the heavens
Resplendent angels' course
All of your life unknown
Viewed vividly in force
Eclipsing every eye
Lightning speed, sudden flash
Earth's extinction event
Reducing us to ash

She came from a life of obscurity
Pushed into the constant scrutiny
from the locals and around the world.
No longer allowed to be a simple girl.
She used her popularity and fame
Treating everyone the same.
She showed compassion to the dying
Held children that were sick and crying.
She rolled up her sleeves and dug in
Helping to bring supplies and medicine
to the part of the world most never see.
She knew her status could bring publicity.
So the world ould see plights of the people.
Hoping that more aid for them would be helpful
Now those moments are nothing but a memory
Captured in writing and photography.
She's the example that we should follow
Never being afraid to let our feeling show.
Treat others as our equals in life
Whether it's a stranger, or husband and wife.
she raised her sons to do the same
So they carry on the work honoring her name.
I try to have courage, to remain strong
and protect the weak that are treated wrong.
I think of her often when I meet people in need
and know this is someone She' gladly feed.
I am comfortable doing what she'd easily do.
though I don't need the whole world knowing what I do.
In memory of Princess Diana. Who used her status and her heart to show how true royalty should care about the people around them and not be afraid to get dirty once in a while or help dress a stranger or give food to a hungry child.
they forgot what caring was really all about till she left the royal palace and became a queen to her people. No need for a crown and status. They gave their devotion to Lady Di.
I have always thought of people the way she did. Often putting away my on needs for the needs of others and knowing the difference between who we are and what we are and that needs must always come before the wants in life.© 23 hours ago, Bonnie J Hollywood-Cutts

Every single plant and flower is my friend.
Many the forest path do I journey,
Breathing in the rich earth and clean air,
Reposing in a meadow green just listening,
Amongst the dancing daisies just resting.
Could anything else be more peaceful and healing?
I think within the soil there must be magic.
Nothing is more precious than this place called Earth.
Gathering my recycling each week I do my measure!
Every tree lost is agonizing and hurtful to watch.
At my building a company is cutting down the maple trees,
Roaring they fall and I am left weeping.
The ravage of nature is so devastating to endure.
How can we, the visitors, stop the ruination of Earth?

Acrostic – I love you to the moon and back
Title: A mother’s love
I wish you were here and happy again
Losing you was hard but God took away your pain
Our family chain is broken now, but your link will still remain
Virtues of family love will always be my guide
Even though you are no longer here, I feel your presence at my side
Your memory is just a keepsake now, which I will never part
Our precious moments will always be embedded deep down in my heart
Unconditional was your love, right from the very start
To the moon and back I will always love you
Our lives were not all rosy, but we made it through
Through all the hardship and the pain
Holding my hand, you taught me how to dance in the pouring rain
Each and every day, I wish for a last chance to hold you once again
Mom, you were my sunshine who brightened up my day
Only you could chase my grey clouds away
Only you could wipe away my tears
Now you are no longer here to erase my fears
And when my days were upside down
No one but you could take away my frown
Did not know that losing you would turn my world around
Beautiful and caring, you were one of a kind
Always putting our needs first and leaving yours behind
Could you come back one last time to relieve the hurt and pain
Kind thoughts of you keeps my mind sane…I love you to the moon and back until we meet again!

C ould you snuggle and relinquish half a purr
A ll that cream and salmon should buy me cuddle time

Could I come home to be with you, where the angels sing?
On a cloud we could reside oh we’d have everything.
My life down here has been so sad ever since you went away.
I play recordings of your voice every night and day.
Nothing seems important, I’m tired but can’t rest.
Grieving has become something I do best.
Baby without you here I feel so alone
And no matter where I live it doesn’t feel like home
Could I come home to be with you, way up in the sky?
Kiss your lips and hold you tight, with no more need to cry.
Heaven must be beautiful beyond those pearly gates
Only love and kindness up there I'm sure there is no hate
Many nights I wake up thinking you are home with me
Everything feels better, and the way that it should be
