Coming Back Home

Could I come home to be with you, where the angels sing?
On a cloud we could reside oh we’d have everything.
My life down here has been so sad ever since you went away.
I play recordings of your voice every night and day.
Nothing seems important, I’m tired but can’t rest.
Grieving has become something I do best.
Baby without you here I feel so alone
And no matter where I live it doesn’t feel like home
Could I come home to be with you, way up in the sky?
Kiss your lips and hold you tight, with no more need to cry.
Heaven must be beautiful beyond those pearly gates
Only love and kindness up there I'm sure there is no hate
Many nights I wake up thinking you are home with me
Everything feels better, and the way that it should be

WoW! Evelyn, Your heartfelt write brought tears to my eyes. I could feel the longing and desire to be reunited with someone that was loved dearly. One's home is wherever their person is. This is so sad because to reunited means death. Best wishes in the contest. Have a great evening-Alexis

Hi Evelyn, I'm assuming that Ismael was your husband. I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and mother. My condolences to you and your family-Alexis

Thank you. I am honored that you liked the poem. I do not wish death upon myself however, Ismael died on July 4th 2020 and my mother had just died on June 12th 2020 so it has been a little difficult. I am happy that the contest is this month because Ismael's 57th birthday is the 8th of March.
