One Man One Cap and a Baseball Bat

He was known as Joltin John
With his baseball bat and his cap upon

He played the game with vigour and speed
Many a supporter said he was all that they need

Was born Guiseppe Paolo DiMaggio number eight child
Lived in America for his eighty four years 'til he died

Played as centre fielder during all his career
With the New York Yankees, who he held dear

Described by some as an uncaring brute
Responsible for Marilyn Monroe sliding into disrepute

With sedatives and such by dominating her so much
Controlling her career to stop her kissing men and such

He craved the limelight just for himself
Yet disliked Marilyn doing the same herself

Yet on the field he was no freak
Known for his 56 game hitting streak

Was MVP winner three times with determination
An all star in each of his thirteen seasons

You will find him in the baseball hall of fame
Look closely you will see his name

Was voted as sports living legend of all time
Was the baseball centennial year of nineteen sixty nine

His first wife was Dorothy Arnold an extra on the film
in which his minor role endured her to him

Married for just five years a son was born
Carries the name of Joseph John

In later years after the Arthur a Miller charade
DiMaggio rescued her from the tormented life she had

Would sit and read poetry on their latter years
Finding a Contentment that slated all fears

So this man had his bad points and good
Needed to reach his soul to be understood

Deep down inside he loved Marilyn for sure
This we will never find out, cos he is no more

He stands alone high in his baseball we surely know that
As a father and husband on his nose he fell flat
.
Remember when we see these idols it's all outer skin
We will never ever know what they are thinking within.

One Man, Thousand Feelings

How can one person make you feel on top of the world
Making me feel more alive with every kiss
He dug me out of my hole of sorrow
Now driving me down the road of internal bliss

He makes me feel so alive
by making all my dreams reality
I'm floating on cloud 9
he saved me from the world of brutality

One Man, One Woman

“One man, one woman”
My father will sternly warn me
And severally, oh! Severally
Will he repeat in my hearings
Loudlier than ever saying
“Son will you take on too many woes”?

“Oh! My father” of what do you speak again
My tender heart skipping a hurdle
A firm handshake erupting
Between my pounding heart
And my twinging left eyeball

Cry out then I unto him
“Oh! My father it is, but very early at dawn
And with his eyes wide open
My father beholds the fruit of his loins
Who erstwhile had previously
Been wrapped in swaddling clothes,
A tiny little young creature

My father takes in a deep smiling breath
And another deep breath quick to follow
And calmly says
“Son, my son -do not take on more than you can chew!
Listen boy, listen to me!

Beautiful many a women come,
Poison and woes their abundance bring
But of one man, one woman!
What potent panacea more would you request
One man, one woman boy!
One man, one woman Son.

Am a one man army

YOUR THOUGHT IS WHATS IN ME
WHEN I OPEN MY EYES IN THE,
MORNING I WAKE UP WITH,
THE THOUGHT OF YOU SUNSHINE.
THE LAST PERSON A THINK OF,
IS YO WHEN EVER I CLOSE,
MY EYE SIGHT AND SLEEP
THERE IS NOT EVEN A SINGLE,
DAY THAT PASSES BY WITHOUT.
THE THOUGHT OF YOU IN ME
AM A ONE MAN ARMY,
FIGHTING WITH THE SHADOWS,
OF YOU GORGEOUS IN MY HEAD
MY HEART ENJOYS THINKING OF YOU

That One Man

I want to be with the man
who loved me for being whole,
a free spirit flung
from the top of a mountain like last winters white out blizzard.
The man sits drunk in his living room,
paralyzed in disbelief
that his mother last sat on that black leather couch,
before I came and his spirit told him that he knew my soul,
he was a casual friend
of that unbending security guard that held watch over my
taped together heart,
its secrets exposed
after his third bottle of homemade red wine,
that dribbled down his throat like a miniature river
of blood
coating a liver that sat like a putrid sponge inside him.
Praying
that he would depart too numb for pain.
And we slept
like shadows of the children we were long ago,
in the sweat of New Jersey's choking midsummer,
our souls sliding down that slope together,
on a red wooden sled,
innocence lost,
and our last lifetime clear as ice.

God Created Marriage As One Man and One Woman

God Designed Marriage As One Woman and One Man…

There’s a design of God since the beginning of time.
He used this in his creation to begin mankind.

In the beginning, there was one God and one voice.
He created Adam and Eve as his divine choice.

He created opposite sexes for a purpose and a reason.
He encouraged them to multiply throughout the seasons.

There is a truth in Genesis that was made quite clear.
His purpose for one woman and one man was sincere.

Marriage is something that’s been
 kicked around and abused.
God gave us his word to read, obey and use!

No courts or legislatures can wipe away
 God’s true meaning.
It’s the truth of his word,
that we should all be receiving!

If this causes you confusion…
You needn’t be confused any longer.
There is a Godly purpose for marriage,
 that can make you stronger!

It’s God’s word, not what man says, that we need to obey!
Don’t look to the constitution! Listen to what God has to say!

May the word of God remove the confusion
sweeping this land.
His design for marriage will always be…
  One woman and one man!

One Man Went To Mow, Went To Mow a Meadow

Walking across dry green fields grass knee high so rich so very dark,
I lifted my scythe high and it swept over the meadow with sharp ease,
Cutting the perennial clover as it filled the air with a sweet scent,
A razor sharp scythe dropping the yellow goats beard and dog daisies.

The dreaded scythe chopped the chervil under hedges, trees and fences,
Next the yellow rattle, the lotus and beautiful quake-grass and poas,
The day moved on quickly so down went the fescues and rough cocksfoot,
In the rank grounds, the wild oats and darnels by the small waysides.

Nothing would be left as the red pensile panicles and covered foxtails,
The timothy fell with their spikes on the edge of shaded wood forests,
And the light air-grass and the purple burnet all through the meadows,
I took my shirt off the twig of a tree and me and the scythe went home.

One Man, One Vote

They say the essence of democracy is:
One man, one vote
If this is true,
then American democracy is a joke
Donald John lost by over three million popular votes;
but electoral wizardry trumped the will of the people,
and Hillary’s presidential victory
got a promissory loan default note
Defenders of democracy say
that your one vote
means a lot to Miss Statue of Liberty
But dazed and confused wailing voters,
don’t you know,
a graven idol can’t hear neither see
Voter justice is blind, obviously
One man, one vote
ain’t nothing
but a lot of mirrors and a lot of smoke
Democracy ain’t nothing but
synthetic Greco-Roman dope,
designed to give the people false hope
Take a puff and go voter loco
One man, one vote
ain’t nothing
but slavery dreams full of empty hope
One man, one vote
Keep putting your trust in man,
he’s gonna yank your cattle neck by the rope
One man, one vote ...
The powers-that-be got one thing right,
their selection was a joke!

When Freedom Rings

The bus pulls out for morning routes
on empty streets
as the cops rouse up the homeless
on the sidewalks sound asleep
and it’s no surprise.

A world away one soldier
makes his father proud
as the bullets rip the air
he calls his Savior’s name out loud
and it’s no surprise.

When one man makes his fortune
while a million more go hungry
with the layoffs and payoffs
in the name of god and Country
singing “Glory Hallelujah!” we go marching on
never asking why we don’t hear the angels sing
when freedom rings.

Asylum in disorder
migrants brave the night
they caravan to borders
asking “Who will save a life?”
and it’s no surprise.

We barricade the classrooms
with a wall of hands
between the bully and the gunman
our kids don’t stand a chance
and it’s no surprise.

When one man makes his fortune
while a million more go hungry
with the layoffs and payoffs
in the name of god and Country
singing “Glory Hallelujah!” we go marching on
never asking why we don’t hear the angels sing
when freedom rings.

(I’ve heard them say
how much they love this land.
Tell me again
the progress that we’ve made?)

My sister called me crying
when my mother passed away
then the bankers hired their lawyers
to collect on bills unpaid.

So someone tell my brothers
that I won’t be coming home
there’s no love lost between us
since I struck out on my own
singing “Glory Hallelujah!” boys it’s no surprise
men like you and I
we don’t hear the angels sing
don’t ask me why
we don’t hear the angels sing
when freedom rings.

A One-Man Boat

Why do I strive so much in life
This heart of mine cease to refine
Of hope and love and tranquility
I give and give, yet scarcely receive
It’s the heart that deceives
My Soul resides upon a mountain of misery

It shouts, its scream, yet high up above, as it seems
Away, away from mankind to care
At times like these I am at despair
Hoping, seeking and wishing to share
I speak my heart, my thoughts, and my mind….
Yet scarcely, do I dare to show this degree of misery
My essence is as thin as air….
If I hit mankind in the face
No mark, no remembrance, no trace shall I leave
No sweet- sour memories to reminisce upon
Its as if my very presences is provocative to mankind
They ask me kindly, oh please! Oh please! do leave, Save us time and disappear!
No one to care, no one to adhere to

I loved and laughed and lived and hoped and trusted in mankind
Yet from this day on shattered and stiff and deceived and depleted, is what, I now am
I bare a load wrapped tight around my heart
That never seems to crack or break,
No fitting key, no rock to break….
For my humble abode lies within my mountain of misery
Where I reside high up above from mankind
From; Hurt or pain or deception or greed
From this day on, to no one shall I heed
I fight my battles on my own
I sail upon a one-man boat

One Man

One man comes with long hair
 And ask them to believe
But they plot to prosecute him
Cause he see a den of thieves

 One man comes from god
They nail him to the cross
Now for the sins of some men
 We are all wondering lost

But that man will come again
A promise he made to humanity
And his words are very clear
 Behold I will come quickly

 One man hears a voice
 From the angel Gabriel
 And to the world
 A noble Quran was revealed

 teaching of peace and tolerance
But wicked men lives with out shame
Committing acts of terror and violence
And every one gets the blame

 This man writes this poem
To bring these facts to the blind
Hoping they will see it clear
 And treat each other kind

 Some men use their powers
 To take away women’s right
Some use the name of religion
To created new wars to fight

Some men give guns to children
To go and kill other men
When they should be in school
 Carrying a book and pen

Some men die in foreign lands
 In war their hearts regrets
While in the own home country
They’re too young to buy cigarettes

 Message to all these men
 Who hide behind god’s name
You will enter the gates of hell
And forever burn in the flame

 Better days are coming
So let’s join hands as we wait
 And say a prayer together
 And respect each other’s faith
